Hi everyone.  Dan here.  As you can tell, I am back!  It has always been great playing with the guys in Morningside, and I am so happy to report that the band is now fully back together with all original members.  I thought I would take this opportunity to update everyone on the progress of the new album.  As things progress, I will continue to update until the point arrives that it releases.  It is a slow process but we feel you will all be happy with the time spent making the best recording we can.  Now, for the actual progress report - We have been in the studio with Chip Dillard, formerly of Left Front Tire, and Jerry Lentini of Guilty Pleasure, who are helping extensivley with production.  We are reworking several of our existing songs, all while writing brand new songs with intent to also include on the album.  We just last week completed final drum tracks on Taking Steps, and Sweet Honey, with final Bass tracks on Sweet Honey.  We are ready to start arranging "Crown" next week for recording.
Anyway - that is your update for now.  We are full steam ahead now, so check back here weekly for continual updates up until release, in which we hope you will all join us for our release party.
Be good and talk to you all soon -
Dan, Brian, Bobby, and Andy

Hi everyone...  Hope your Turkey Day was fantabulous!

Well, MORNINGSIDE has been working hard - recording and pounding the streets to get bookings on the calendar.  The hard work is paying off.

Recently we inked our best gig yet at what I think is the best venue in town -SMITH's OLDE BAR.  MORNINGSIDE will be there next week on Tuesday December 4th at 8:00pm...

When I moved to Atlanta four years ago, it was a goal of mine to someday play there.  Like their plackard says...  "THE BEST MUSICIANS and the GREATEST MUSIC FANS WALK THRU THESE DOORS."  If you've been to Smith's before or have ever looked at their music calendar, you know their billing is reserved primarily for touring acts.  So it is a great privilege for us to be able to play on that stage, our music, and especially for our friends...
So with this gig comes huge excitement to play for you all and hopefully a chance to return to the venue.   We would love to have your support, please come out and join us next Tuesday at Smith's.  The door is only $5 and we will be first up that night.  Smith's has a full menu and billiards room among the other attractions, so if you get there straight from work you can grab a bite & brew in prep for the night's music...

Thanks to everyone for the help getting this far!  Just playing this venue feels like a huge musical victory to me...

If you haven't seen/heard us, this is the venue to do it at.  So please come out!  Would mean so much to us!  And want to to a really good job for you..  So back to work & nose to the grindstone.  Hopefully get to see you next Tuesday!!!

Be good - Bobbie, Andy, Brian & Dan

Upcoming Shows...

Quick FYI on MORNINGSIDE happenings......

Tomorrow Aug 21 we will be taking group pics.  We will then take said pics and put the finishing touches on our press kit, and start mailing off the kit with demo discs all over the place.  Gigs will be lining up soon, and you will see info here as soon as we get it.  As for what we will be playing????
We have been hard at work getting the new setlist put together.  Those who attended our show at Smith's got to see a sneak peak at what we have been up to.  We are now up to 10 original songs, and 2 covers.  A few are older RUB¥ tunes that have been completely reworked, and many are brand new never before heard.
We are very excited to be playing out to show you all what we have been up to.  We are very close... stay tuned.... we are coming soon.......

Thank you so much to everyone that came out to support us at Smith's Olde Bar this week.  We had a GREAT time, and with cake, shirts, and screams, how could one go wrong!
Your support means so much to us, so if you did not already know.. well.. now you do.

I know we have been quiet for some time now, but we have been very busy writing and arranging new music since moving from RUB¥ and becoming Morningside.  We feel that the time spent on our sound will be worth the wait, and in a few short weeks we will be ready to promote the hell out of this band and make our mark.  Press kits will be sent off in the next week,  and as soon as we get solid booking dates, we will be sure to post all information here.

Again, thank you all for your support, and we look forward to playing for you again soon........
