In August 2003 Led Astray left their comforatable home in Tallahassee to move to Gainesville.  The Tallahassee music scene was familiar and friendly and mostly consisted of a cornicopia of different styles of music in which shows often featured bands of different genres.  The Gainesville scene, however, was predominantly punk and had a very competitive vibe.  Led Astray was initially treated as outsiders and were forced to prove themselves in order to play at any of the "in" clubs.  The band members (Patrice, Matt and Dave) found themselves living in the heart of Gainesville's ghetto without jobs, their close friends or a drummer.  During the first few months, when not playing Mario Golf on Nintendo 64 and drinking $.99 King Cobras, Led Astray started writing new songs with a much darker feel to them.  Soon the band met a 300 lb. bald giant with a tattoo of a knife on his neck named Billy Butcher who was obsessed with horrer movies, Sanford and Son and playing drums.  Forces were joined and the dark songs soon took shape.  In the winter of 2004, the band went to Goldentone Studios and recorded with Rob Mcgregor (who has also recorded Against Me!, HWM, Billy Reese Peters...).  The end result was a 6 song, 12 1/2 minute album entitled 6 Reasons.  These 6 songs have just been posted on our site for anyone interested...enjoy!

Hi guys!

After nearly 23 months we are playing shows again.  We have a new drummer, new songs, new merch, new attitudes.  We have been learning new covers of some of our favorite bands and revamping old songs as well.  We hope that all of our friends and families and fans come out and see us this summer as we are booking shows all over the state.  We miss you guys and the fun times that we have shared since 2000.
