To anyone who hears the freshman effort from emerging artist Glenton Davis, they will know that these three words are more than just genres. They are ways of expression. Glenton defies genre and stereotype with the disc, saying that he hopes "to make music that is honest, true, and fun. My favorite music is music that speaks to me, that doesn't necessarily try to be anything but itself. With all of the music I create, I try to do just that". Soulpoprocks does this well, for hit singles like "Alone" and "Love Me Too" offer intimate looks at Glenton's views on love and loss. At the same time, they are fresh, a new school take on old school soul. That is what makes Glenton so unique. He has the ability to take established ideas, the usual ups and downs we face in life, and portray them honestly, with a refreshing energy and spirit. It would only make sense, then, for Glenton to produce what will be a memorable set. His whole life has been a series of lessons for this moment.

Aged 22, Glenton is a singer/songwriter and pianist whose savvy will carry him to great places. Growing up in Montgomery, Alabama, Glenton used his childhood as a training ground, for he began working as a professional in the industry at the tender age of 14 with producers in Atlanta, Georgia. After some trying times, Glenton took matters into his own hands, producing, composing, and arranging himself- in addition to being an acclaimed singer/songwriter. His talent and tenacity took him far, for by age 17, Glenton had already moved to Atlanta to work with executives from Us/J Records on a demo recording. At the same time, Glenton was working with the likes of famed music agent Jim Halsey, illustrious songwriters like Tomi Martin, who have penned hits for Michael Jackson and TLC, to name a few, and garnering respect and praise from top individuals at ASCAP. By 18, Glenton was a veteran performer at venues throughout the Eastern Seaboard, as well as working with international producer Robert Jazayeri (Britney Spears, All Saints, Salt n' Pepa). Glenton graduated from Yale University in 2007. His extensive studies in classical music (vocal performance, conducting, and composition) and tenure as musical director of The Yale Alley Cats, helped him diversify his knowledge and talent in the arts. Glenton also performed at the legendary Toad's Place on numerous occasions. He has performed in over twenty countries, has lent his voice to recordings for EMI songwriters, and has collaborated with the likes of Sears Holding Company, Land's End, and has appeared on the WB television series The Gilmore Girls, on which he sang. Expect a lot of great things from this young talent.

SANDRA OLDENSTAM

Photobucket

Sandra aims at writing music that expresses the ever occurring ups and downs of life in mysterious ways.

Quoting Sandra: We live life according to our views and believes and we are all at various levels when it comes to faith, hope and love. More importantly, we need to remember that everybody is fighting for survival at some point in life. With my strong desire to guide people I try my best to move my audience and then simply hope to make an impression.

Already at the age of twelve she took part in the production of "La Bohème" at the National Theatre in Gothenburg. During that time she also spent five years in music class, which inspired her to begin writing music of her own.

In the summer of 1993, her whole family moved to Florida where Sandra continued her writing and development within music production. Her hard work finally paid off and she started getting hired for bigger venues, collaborating with a variety of live bands from all over the state of Florida.

She worked a total of five years before she was asked to be the new female vocalist of the Swedish group DYNAMIC (later on called OUTFLY). Sandra then returned to Sweden to begin the project at Kyloe Productions in Gothenburg. She co-wrote the techno tune "La Marche de la Lune", which she also preformed on the recording. The song reached WARNER MUSIC CANADA /Linus Entertainment Inc. and was released nationally 2003. It was released in the United States the following year by ROBBIN'S Entertainment out of New York.

After another two years stay in the USA she was offered to record material for EVA Records back in Sweden once again. Under three different stage names, Sandra, Sandra O, and Louise, she recorded a total of six covers in the productions of the ABSOLUTE HITMANIA collections, released in Sweden 2004 - 2005.

Writing music for a planned solo album became her priority upon her return to Sweden, where she is currently residing. She wrote "Have A Little Faith", recorded at Tremolo Studios, Gothenburg, and around the same time she also co-wrote the country song "A Little Too Much" at Sunday Music in Gothenburg. A song which later on was performed by the already known Swedish artist Carola Becker/Szucs at the television show FAME FACTORY and it was included on FAME FACTORY vol. 6, released in stores nationally 2004.

Brief history of the band?
M.E : We all met as young teenagers in a suburb near Sacramento, California around 2000. Our personalities and musical styles clicked right away, we played in a church where the musical influence was urban gospel. We just loved to play music together, but got serious about writing and started Method Echo in Spring of 2007

What's the name of your new single?
M.E: Currently "Cold Shoulder"

The album is due for summer 2008, how does this single reflect the rest of the album?
M.E: It reflects a lot, you hear a lot of different influences.  We are just trying to write music that we will love playing years from now.  And songs people will love years from now.

Why was this the song you chose as the single to represent the album?
M.E: We have received a lot of criticism about "finding ourselves" as artist's, so we are proud of this song for a lot of reasons, it's a great mixture of our style. We feel this is more and more of who we are.

What in the song is typical of your music?
M.E: Rock and soul that forms into a pop sound. It grooves, has edge, and hopefully relates to our audience.  We are always putting a catchy fusion to what we do.

Upcoming gig plans ,…. Touring?
M.E: We play as much as we can, We have a lot of venues that want us and a lot we are trying to get into. This summer we will do a cd release tour and keep going as far as it will take us.
