recording time, recording deals, sponsorship,
publishing deals, licensing of songs,

MySchoolAct is pleased to announce the Final Five acts of the inaugural MySchoolAct competition. Each of these five Grand Finalists will each progress to the Grand Final live event on Tuesday 15 December 2009, 6pm at The Metro Theatre, George St Sydney.
They are:
Glass Towers
A four-piece rock band from Alstonville High School, Byron Bay, NSW
IRISchild
An alternative four-piece from St Mary Star of the Sea College, Wollongong, NSW
Powerage
A four-piece rock band from Hunter School of the Performing Arts, Newcastle, NSW
Saida
A four-piece alternative band from Catholic College Sale, Sale, VIC
Stephen Smith
Singer/Songwriter from Queensland Academy for Creative Industries, Brisbane, QLD
Filmed for television, hosted by James Mathison and also featuring a live finale performance from special guests Amy Meredith. What more could you ask for!

We have just been informed about an all ages show that has just come up. and the catch is IT IS FREE :)
The event is to announce the grand finalists of My School Act, the winning bands will play a few songs.
The event is FREE for you guys to come along to and it's all ages You can rock up on the night but if you pre-register (details below and attached) for a ticket, you can go into the draw to win prizes. Which is pretty sweeet :)
The date is Tueday the 15th of december. so it is short notice.

Hey they did a great job at videoing us at YOUTHROCK band comp back in April, 2009 School students were involved in the filming-WELL DONE GUYS!!! and THANKS Al for the footage!!!! Watch "The Crew" TV show on SBS TV Monday arvos from 5:30pm... Here's the video they did.....up on youtube now!!!!! along with 59 other videos of our band POWERAGE!!!!

Congrats to NSW My School Act competition winners
Over half the finalists in the nation wide online high school band competition hail from NSW. Indent would like to say a big congratulations to the six NSW bands who made in into the top 10 for the My School Act online band competition announced on November 30. The talented NSW finalists include A Bad Days Goodnight, Glass Towers, Irischild, Powerage, Sammy Baker and Standing Silence. This competition is pretty exciting with the finalists competing for a grand prize of a recording deal, commercial album release and music video from Sony Music Australia. What a awesome prize to help kick start your career hey! There is also a $15, 000 cash prize and Sony ATV publishing deal for the best songwriter. Additionally, there is a prize for the best video director/producer, audio producer and digital designer/producer- its one of three full SAE Institute Diploma scholarships worth up $20,000 each. But really, no one goes away without something. The 10 lucky finalists will head for Sydney for an exclusive 3 day workshop with the bes in the music business. Instrument experts, vocal coaches and industry specialists will help fine tune our Top 10 before they hit Studio 301to record their first demo. Finalists also have the privelege of battling it out on stage at the legendary Metro Theatre in Sydney.
Grand final of the final 5 will be on the 15th December. Doors open 6pm. Acts start 6:30pm. Compered by James Mathison (ex Australian Idol compere)
