Today we confirm 3 more bands for this year’s edition of ProgPower Europe. First of all one of the best Dutch prog bands ate the moment, KNIGHT AREA. This band is probably not unknown to most of you, they have already released 2 excellent albums and played several festival all over the world including Nearfest in the USA. In September, just before ProgPower the band will released its 3rd album.
Secondly we have booked a total unknown band for all of you we think, the Polish band VANITY. We have discovered this band through Myspace and were really impressed by their songs. They have now officially released their first demoCD and are looking for a record deal. Their music is hard to describe, the best describtion might be schizophrenic prog metal. But just check their myspace and listen to their songs yourself, Caterine for exemple is a masterpiece.
And the last band we confirm today is the Australian band CHAOS DIVINE, probably also not know to many of you but that will definitely change soon. The band has just released its debut album in Australia and the reactions are extremely positive. The band is described as an excellent mix of Dream Theater and Arch Enemy. Especially the vocals and guitar riffs make a lot of impression to the people from the media. It will be their first trip to Europe, CHAOS DIVINE and VANITY are those bands that you discover at ProgPower Europe!
We will book 8 more bands and announce the next few bands within 2 weeks.

Unfortunately we have received a cancellation from Pure Reason Revolution. This is the band's statement: "Due to unforeseen circumstances we are unable play at Progpower in The Netherlands on Oct 5th, many apologies to anyone attending just to see us". We will keep it by these words, the only thing we have to say is that we are very disappointed in the band's decision, but right now we're already talking to some other bands to replace them. Both comments and trackbacks are currently closed

US legends of CYNIC will headline ProgPower Europe on Saturday 4 October! Most likely, the band will only come over to Europe for the show at ProgPower, so this will be some kind of an exclusive performance. In July and August the band will do some shows in Europe after they finished recording/mixing the new album. At the end of 2008 or early 2009 the band will do a new tour in Europe, but for the 10th anniversary of ProgPower CYNIC will come over to Europe for a special headline show of 90 minutes! So be sure to order your tickets on time. A press statement will go out this Wednesday, than we also will update the entire website with all relevant information!
