Lame...no big trumpet solo at the end. In fact, did they even introduce Bill Conti and the orchestra this time around?

If you're watching the Oscars and you're a trumpet player, hang in there...the end of the show will (if history holds true) feature a nice trumpet feature in the ending credits. Maybe Wayne Bergeron!

I've had the opporunity to play some of Mark Curry's newest mouthpiece design (Mark's website is at www.currympc.com), his TC cup. It's kind of a cross between a trumpet and cornet piece, on a short shank, with a big throat. It's all sound and alot of fun to blow on. I've used it on a dixieland gig earlier this week (Fat Tuesday) and a quartet gig (Friday) and been really impressed with the nice, round sound I get on it.
(If anyone's tried the TF cup, it's a similar concept, but you can play with some more volume.)
Trumpet players are urged to keep an eye out for this moutpiece, which should hit the general public early next month. Definitely worth a test-drive!!
