Hi my pretties
Wow what a week!  Ok so big news is we finished our new record last week!  By finish I mean we finished mixing it, now we have to take it to New York to master it before we can release it, but essentially our work on the album is done.

So to celebrate, we are posting a new tune for you all!  It is called "the Well".

enjoy and we'll have the rest of the record available soon.

Where are we?
Where are we as a people?
Where are we AS people?
Who are we... what happened and most of all
who is gonna clean up this mess???

This is our first entry as Oliver Future with Obama. I have to say after eight years of stupidity, excess, no-bids, tourcher, and more stupidity it is amazing we are still here.

It is in that spirit we invite you all out to Spaceland February 6 for our first show back. As we all collectivley shake off past ills, and we all begin to clean up the mess selfishness and stupidity weaves, we are standing up! We are dusting off and getting to work. We believe that you are not measured by how you enjoy good times, but by how you respond to bad ones. And that its not about how you fall, but how you get up!!!!

So who's with us???? We'll see you all soon....

Happy New Year everybody!

Well, 08 turned out to be a douche bag, but 09 is sizing up real, real nice like!

We're well into the studio with Adam Lasus working on the new record, and I have to say, we are more than psyched.

To celebrate, we figure it's about time to show off some of these new tunes.

February 6 at Spaceland sound good? Come hear the new tunes, and see the have a beer with us. Oh we're celebrating a birthday that night too if the adds extra incentive.

Go into the light until we meet again,

This is the first time in my adult life I am truly, truly proud to be an American!!!!!!

I'll be out driving my pickup truck to get a tattoo of a bald eagle on my ass, whilst listening to a baseball game and snorting McDonalds pies all to a blaring soundtrack of Lee Greenwood.

Then we roll up our sleeves and the real work of repairing this great nation begins... WHO'S WITH ME??????

Yes We Can!!!!!!

Come on, you didn't think a little thing like getting sold out by our best friends would keep us down for too long!

We're gonna be back in the studio with Adam Lasus in December. Rehearsals begin soon and shows will begin probably in 09. We promise not to make you all wait too long for our next record which I assure you will be worth the wait.

Until then we got less than a week left to CHANGE this country!!! Go to Barack Obama's website. Make a donation, hit the phone banks... let's all do what we gotta do.

Also, don't be afraid to vote early! If not, let's all make November 4th a day to remember. Everybody go out there and VOTE!!!! It takes about a half hour to be a part of history. But a disclaimer, if you are voting for McCain, please do not drive, your judgment is clearly impaired. Walk or get one of your democrat friends to drive.

We'll see you all soon

Wow... financial meltdown this week. Luckily my investments are diversified into a guitar and some dog hair or I'd be real screwed. As our country slips into a "Once in a century crisis" (thanks Mr Grenspan for the quote and the low interest rates that made this all possible!) and what is nothing other than COMMUNISM, seriously the Federal Government buying AIG???? What do you call it? Our friends to the right would have you believe that the "foundations of our Economy are strong" and that we are all "Whiners". OK and once we are prowling the streets in search of petrol and spare anti-biotics so we can light our shelters and keep the flesh eating zombie hoards out, we'll all be kept warm at night with the knowledge that Jon McCain thinks things are fine. Ummm my plan is to take over one of his 25 houses and bunker down yo! Then we'll see who is a whiner!

Well, today I have to issue a hearty FUCK THAT! Are we so numb and beaten down as a country that we can't see who is beating us? Are we so battered down that like St Edward the Vedder's story of the abused woman, "We can't find a better Man." I try to quote Pearl Jam as often as possible because it adds a certain gravitas to any conversation. Hey man how are you? Ohhh I'm still alive, I say or Jeez Ronald, your thoughts are arriving like butterflies....

I for one am not the type to get smacked around and come back for more unless I have payed her to do so and if that's the case please people, always pick a SAFE WORD!!! But I digress, and I happen to care about the world I live in and that the President has an "understanding" of the economy, or the "bush doctrine." I mean for fuck's sake, I play in an indie rock band and I know what the fucking Bush doctrine is! Have you met any indie rockers? We're not the brightest candles on the candelabra!!!!

This year there is a better man. There's two. Barak Obama and Joe Biden. Register and vote. Come on people! It's easier than setting up another social networking profile. I know you each have six!!!!! Oh and again, here's the link Voter Registration

And if you don't vote for Obama, can I interest you in the truly wacko? Bob Barr is doing some real crazy shit! www.bobbarr2008.com Anyone but these Republican Jokers that have run our country into the ground!!!! Oh them and anyone but Nader give it up little man!

I will close with another poet of yesteryore Sir Peter Townshed when he triumphantly proclaimed:
"I pick up my guitar and play,
Just like Yesterday,
and I get on my knees and
pray
WE WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN!!!!!"

Hi all,
We had a blast last weekend at SUnset Junction here in SIlverlake. We love everyone that had anything to do with it... Pics coming soon, but here's a review for those of you who missed it.

Oh real quick: interesting facts about Webinfront.net
1)they are handsome
2) They are my blog heroes
3) they smell nice, so I encourage you all to read them!

FROM WEBINFRONT.NET
Interesting fact about Oliver Future 1: They are so excited by the sound of their own twisting, bruising art-rock that they nearly refuse to end their sets, as their songs are laced with several fake-out endings and longform jams that seemingly spiral ever-outward.

Interesting fact about Oliver Future 2: Oliver Future's twisting, bruising art-rock is so enthralling that, by the set's end, you wish they would refuse to end it at all, and keep barreling along until security drags them away to the tune of the guitar-and-keyboard slushed echoes still vibrating in your ears.

Oliver Future are a perfect rock festival band, as they manage to meld several disparate genres into one voice, one that is accented with the occasional Wilco alt-twang or Radiohead cool croon but still wholly distinct and original. They also deftly perform the highwire act of being both crowd pleasers and crowd challengers—their music is inherently enjoyable, yet makes so many neck-snapped twists and turns that they require total attention to be completely heard and absorbed; judging by the smiling faces of those standing around me during their mid-afternoon set, the crowd had no problem meeting that challenge, and were deeply rewarded.
