3 new tunes for you, but it's been a rough start for 2009! We recorded the drum tracks in Chicago with Holy Maloney behind the kit, and Adam Mormolstein at the board. Upon our return, I was laid up for 6 weeks with two herniated discs in my low back. Time to trade in that Fender Twin Reverb for something a little bit lighter... While delivering the scratch tracks to Anna, Bradley and I were rear ended - and the culprit left the scene of the crime! A concerned citizen witnessed the accident and chased the offender up the road, got the license plate and waited for the cops with us. Thankfully, this person was caught, and arrested that evening. She blew a .13 and we believe she is suffering dire legal consequences for her actions! Finally, Bradley, Tim, Anna and I settled into some sessions at Metro Recording Studios with Award Winning Producer Kevin Sharpe. Things went swimmingly with the exception of my having to lay down on the floor in between takes. It was truly great to hear Anna's voice again on these songs, and I hope there will be more of that to come. Missing in action was our own Yukon Jack. Schedules just couldn't permit getting him into the studio, so our Award Winning Producer Kevin stepped up to the keyboard plate. We have three new tracks for you... and we encourage you to download them here or at www.studentdriverband.com and distribute them freely. We're really quite proud of the tunes, and we hope you like them too. Stay tuned, and enjoy... cheers! - Dennis

Current mood: accomplished
Many thanks to our sponsors, committee members and friends for helping us put on another great event on Saturday, November 22nd! With just about 400 guests in attendance, it was another spectacular evening of guest speakers, live entertainment and dancing. A true celebration of life! We humbly thank all that made it possible. Last November we held our first annual "Breaking The Silence" benefit concert and dinner for suicide prevention. The thought was to have one each year, to promote awareness and prevention in our community. With over 500 guests in attendance, it was an outstanding success! I realized quickly that an annual event was just the beginning. In 2008, with funds raised, NoResolve.org gave suicide prevention presentations to half a dozen schools, reaching over 2,000 high school and middle school students, put on "Breaking The Silence" benefit concerts in Ann Arbor and Chicago, and donated over 1,500 copies of our "Breaking The Silence Vol. 1" CD compilation to survivors of suicide and support groups throughout the country. It was immediately very clear to me that this is what I wanted to be doing with my life. Discussions ensued and we decided that NoResolve.org's primary focus should be to promote prevention, through our school presentations, and serve as a bridge to services that are available to teens in crisis. Moving forward, NoResolve.org plans to implement our music-based prevention program in as many schools in our community as possible. By doing this, we believe that we can help save lives by empowering teens with the ability to recognize the warning signs of suicide, and providing them with the proper avenues for support if they are in crisis. I also have another vision for NoResolve.org that involves opening a center for teens in Macomb County that is focused on music - primarily assistance and development with regard to writing, rehearsing, recording and producing. A place that would encourage artistic and creative expression of thought and emotion. Somewhere teens would be encouraged to follow their hopes and dreams while learning important life skills and how the business of music works. This vision would make our "Breaking The Silence" compilation each year comprised entirely of songs that inspire hope written and recorded by local teen bands! Of course, none of this can happen without your support. I ask that you please consider doing what you can - by making a general donation, volunteering your time, or finding a way to help us raise the funds we need. Thank you for your support and for helping us to Stop Suicide, One Song at a Time! View Event Photos Here!Sincerely, Dennis Liegghio Executive Director, NoResolve.org

Current mood: confident
Thanks to everyone who came out to Martyr's in Chicago on Saturday June 7th! We really appreciate everyone coming out to support local music and a cause that's uncomfortable for most folks to discuss. Thanks especially to Mas Trueno and JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound for putting on spectacular performances! Please check out these bands as soon as possible... truly excellent!
NoResolve.org is one of two charities benefitting from a golf outing on June 27th in Clarkston, MI. If golf is your thing - please drop us a line for the details.
We are also gearing up to start promoting our 2nd Annual Benefit Concert and Dinner in Clinton Township, MI. The date is set for November 22nd and this year's event is sure to be even bigger and better than last year - and we had over 500 guests last year!! We're super excited about this and more details will be coming soon.
Finally, we will be opening the competition in the Fall for Breaking The Silence Vol. II. We'll be looking for professionally recorded, excellent songs by artists that have been affected in some way by suicide or depression. We are definitely going to be seeking out some uplifting tunes with a positive message for this one, so think good things!
That's all for now folks, thanks again for the support and stay well! - Dennis

Current mood: thankful
I would like to sincerely thank the committee members, volunteers, speakers, bands and guests who helped, donated, performed and contributed to make our first benefit concert for suicide prevention and awareness a success! Over 500 people came out the Mirage Banquet Hall in Clinton Township Michigan to show their support for this cause.
As I stood there looking out at everyone who was there, I was speechless. For the first time I can remember, I had no idea what to say.... honestly, I just wanted to cry. It has taken well over a week for me to try to put this all into words. The word Suicide still has such a stigma attached to it and the fact that this many people came out to help us "Break the Silence" at our first event proves to me that people are ready to talk about it. People are ready to fight to save lives. Music is a powerful voice and it's one that can be heard the world over, with your help.
Not only is it my intention to keep this event going each year in my home town, it is my intention to take this message of hope and prevention, through music, as far and as wide as I possibly can. Over the next month, we will be updating this page, along with our website to include plans for Community Programs and School Programs. More information will be available as plans become organized.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. It has been an incredible journey so far, and it has only just begun.
- Dennis Liegghio
