Maybe it's a sign of mental illness, maybe some sort of regression to childhood, but I've recently started seeing faces in everyday objects everywhere I go. I have some pictures of these in my pics section.

The first track new track - Snippets - is from a recent (end of May) gig I did at the Bergh Apton Sculpture Trail, which is a wonderful event held every 3 years at a local village (thanks to everyone that came along and listened and / or said hello). I have 4½ hours of material from this (phew!), and am in the process of editing down, maybe for a future CD. This short compilation gives a little taster, 6 little soundscape snippettes in about 5 minutes.
The next track - Gum Art - is something a little different for me. It was made by recording lots (about 25) of short musical snippets (acoustic instruments only; acoustic steel strung guitar, tenor ukelele, melodica, shaker) onto my little Boss microBR recorder using the inbuilt mic. Each track was cut into an 8 second long chunk, and the tune was compiled by looping together each of these chunks to make a longer track in a DAW (Reaper, excellent featured cheap software). Came out OK. My daughter says it sounds like it should be in the soundtrack to 'The Royal Tenenbaums' which is a big complement. Maybe she just means that it sounds a bit like 'These Days' by Nico, which is still a compliment. 'The Royal Tenenbaums' is a beautiful and wonderful Wes Anderson film that everyone should see. Make the effort, you won't regret it. Don't be put off by the cast mix.
Another new track, Refinery, in my usual style.
Stephen
