I try to do right but I'm surrounded by sin. Say, he's a better man, don't compare me to him... I've climbed the highest tree, now I'm stuck on a limb.

I think everyone should read this and give me their input. I'll probably delete it after a week or so since I didn't write it myself.

Today is Independence Day.Today Americans across the country will show great reverence for an empty symbol, while showing disdain for
a worthwhile principle.We celebrate with great fervor the signing of the Declaration of Independence, while showing absolute contempt for the ideas expressed therein.
What is it we are celebrating? Independence? Independence from what? We rejoice at having thrown off a tyrant who taxed us at an average of two to three percent, in order to establish new tyrants
who tax us at over fifty percent.Having been thoroughly indoctrinated into the insane notion that "our" government supports liberty and justice for all, we schizophrenically condemn the actions of King George III, while remaining silent about the far more intrusive, oppressive, unjust actions of the current tyrants
we mislabel as "representatives."
Let us set aside our picnics and parades for a moment, and think back to this nation's birth, and see what it is we should be
celebrating.In his famous "Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death" speech, Patrick Henry stated that "it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope," and that "We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till
she transforms us into beasts." How many eyes are shut in this country today? How many Americans today "having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation?" On the other hand, how many Americans have this attitude?: "For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and
to provide for it."
Few. Very few.And who could say the following today, and not be condemned by the masses as an extremist lunatic?: "Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may
take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death."
And what of the Declaration itself? How many Americans who pledge allegiance to a flag today can even remotely relate to the message of that document? The Declaration has become a revered relic, whose
words have lost all meaning to most of those who worship it.We repeat the words, but the spirit of the message is long since dead.
Let us revive it, put it into the modern vernacular, and assess just what the modern American response to the sentiments expressed therein might be: When a government infringes upon the rights of the individual, instead of protecting those rights, the people have the right and duty to throw off that government, violently and
illegally if necessary.How many flag-wavers believe that? One percent? Probably less.
History shows that people will tolerate injustice they are accustomed to, rather than doing what it takes to get rid of a
familiar system which oppresses them. Amen.And so it is with the
dim, fading shadow of this formerly great nation.As long as we have our couches and our TVs, we will do nothing about tyranny in this land. So long as we are enslaved in comfort, we do not resist.
Much of the Declaration is a list of oppressions and injustices,
"injuries and usurpations," committed by King George III.The Declaration proclaimed such wrong-doing to a "candid world," to justify their illegal, treasonous (and righteous) rejection of the
government they were under.In short, the complaints of the Founders against King George III pale in comparison to the complaints modern Americans should have against the far more
oppressive regime they now call "their" government.As one example, the Founders complained that the British Crown had "erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to
harass our people and eat out their substance." In contrast to
modern America, that complaint seems laughable.Today almost three million people are employed by the federal government alone: a
full one percent of the population.State and local governments
employ even more.The level of micromanaging and regulation is far
beyond what King George ever would have dreamed of.One look at the Code of Federal Regulations, which takes up an entire book shelf, will tell you that.
Desperate to hallucinate something superior about this country, people now resort to saying that, though we're not actually free, we're more free than other countries. In reality, however, the U.S.
does not have the most freedom, either economically or socially,
anymore. In fact, the U.S.has the highest per capita incarceration rate in the world.
So what is it we should celebrate about this country, and its
independence? There is no substantive reason to celebrate.All that is left is unthinking pack mentality: we "love" it simply because we're here, the same way the people in every other country "love" what they are familiar with--the same empty herd mentality which enables tyrants to perpetually play the game of war.
How many this "Independence Day" will say the following words?: "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and
to the republic for which it stands." Only the familiarity of those words, and our unthinking repeating of them, hide from us the evil
insanity underlying such so-called "patriotism." Blind allegiance
to a flag and a government is nothing to be proud of.(The reference at the end to "liberty and justice for all" is now
nothing but a sad Orwellian lie.)
The ideals which drove the American Revolution are stone dead in the hearts and minds of the American people, who have been trained
to view subservience and obedience as virtues.The following are the words of a current leading contender for the Presidency: "Freedom is about the willingness of every single human being to cede to lawful authority a great deal of discretion about what you do" (Rudy Giuliani). And millions would vote for him.
To wave the American flag in public, to carry it in parades, either demonstrates profound psychological denial, or profound historical
and philosophical ignorance.If the flag represents what this country and its government has become, it deserves to be burned in
contempt and disgust.If it represents the ideals from which this country was born, it deserves to be burned out of respect and sorrow, rather than desecrated by flying it atop the giant shrines of tyranny in a land where freedom has died.

(I can ride my bike with no handlebars...)If all goes right, which things seem to be doing...My last day of school will be July 15th.Graduation is July 17th, but I haven't decided if I'm going.It's a waste of time.Give me my fucking diploma, no more wasting time on your bullshit system.Either way, I should of dropped out at fifteen...With my mom's permission I could have.I would of gotten my GED, then a higher paying job as soon as possible.And I would start community college much sooner.Then I would start a University two years later sooner.So, here I am... 18 years old, $50 cash and a $750 car to my name...Struggling to figure out how to begin college.I don't want to take out any loans.Trying to start life.Graduating with a 1.6 GPA. (I think)Well... For those who still think the dropping out idea is stupid, ponder this:I have taken 62 classes in high school.I have had a good attendance record.I know it's my own bad habits, but the fact that I knew ways around it,And everybody tells me against them, is stupid.You all need to learn to talk for yourself,Because I'm sure it's probably the best path for you.But you only need to take 44 classes to graduate high school at 22 credits.So that's 18 classes that have been unnecessary.That's much more than 1,080 hours longer spent in high school that people who have never failed.Which is 140+% of high school if 100% was a regular 44 classes, 22 credits.That's also 3,060 hours spent in regualar school that could have been avoided.That comes out to a whopping 4,140+ hours.That can also be shown as more than 172 FULL (24-Hour) days.Also, let me say this...My mom dropped out of high school. She has attended Washington University of St. Louis, paid for by her work, and is on the executive level of Commerce Bank. They send her on jets for business meetings all over, Kansas City, Florida, etc. She also has her own home business.My dad finished high school, and dropped out of college. He owns his own carpentry business and is currently living in a 1.3 million dollar house. It'd be worth a ton more but the location is bad. It's 7,500 square feet, and four stories total (one is a basement).
"I know how to run the business... And I can make you wanna buy a product. Movers, shakers, and producers... Me and my friends understand the future. I see the strings that control the system. I can do anything with no assistance." So... Thing is, talk about what you know... Don't give advice unless you've been there... And quit being a fucking sheep to the system.I'm finished with high school, the "best" way. I feel sick and degraded.

This is what I've been working toward and where I am at now.
I at one point supported Bush but was unsure of anything. I hadn't looked into stuff myself. I've since developed my own ideas.
My mom used to work for the police department in Clovis, New Mexico where I lived until my fifth grade year. I used to like cops, but I don't trust them anymore... They have no helped me once even though we've called on them for help. I've been verbally harassed by cops more than a few times.
I believe anarchy is possible if planned carefully. I don't have an opinion on rather it would work better than democracy or any other form of government, but I would be willing to experiment with it if a volunteer peaceful anarchist civilization was to be started on a uninhabited island or something.
I'm interested in almost any topic you can hand me. My primary means of income is freelance work on the Internet. I like this because it gives me complete freedom. I work when I want, how much I want to, as much room for advancement as I want... Doing what jobs I want. I have always thought it would be nice not to have to follow man-made time... As I don't believe in follows my natural sleep schedule. No alarm clocks.
I want to learn as many skills as I can, perhaps get my associates degree in every subject they offer at the community college... I want to be able to make anything out of anything. I have a lot to learn when it comes to that... Sowing, wood carving, welding, electronics, pottery, etc.
As far as current skills go... I can rap fast and clear (but lack confidence), and type 153 WPM... There should be more skills, it's pathetic.
I have loved motor vehicles all my life, especially cars... My grandpa on my mom's side owned a custom car shop... My grandpa on my dad's side owned a car repair shop. I got a four-wheeler when I was 7, but it was traded in because it was old and unsafe. So, I got a dirtbike when I was 8, traded in for a bigger four-wheeler when I was 12. The first time I drove a car by myself was a 5-speed manual S-10 Pickup truck when I was 10. I prefer manual transmission cars and automatic recreational vehicles.
I don't do drugs or drink, I prefer not to alter my mind in any way. I rarely drink caffeine and am attempting to give up High-Fructose Corn Syrup, then carbonated beverages... But that last one might be next to impossible for me.
I am a vegetarian. I've always wanted to be but thought it was too hard... My girlfriend is one now though and I didn't see it as fair to her... And beyond the moral/ethical aspects of it, there is hygiene, social, environmental, health, food safety, religious, and economical reasons to it. Update March ??, 2009: I've been a vegetarian for a year now... Recently visited a place called VegaDeli in Chesterfield (100% vegan food) alongside swinging back into my political-side... I couldn't help but go all the way and become vegan. Hippy has started with me also.
I don't associate with an organized religion because I have not found one that suits me (besides Flying Spaghetti Monster, rAmen!). Instead, I prefer to pull ideas from whatever I find and keep it relatively simple. I believe in karma, I believe in one main God, I believe in lesser gods, or perhaps the Saints of Christianity... I believe in past lives, spirit guides, telepathy, evolution, the Akashic Records (in the Astral Plane), and Jesus. I also believe in a balance of the world, in the fashion of a yin-yang... Which means there should be a female version of Jesus also.
I believe strongly in personal freedoms as long as it doesn't hurt others directly. Drunk driving kills others, second hand smoke kills others. Smoking privately in your home with other smokers, then dying of lung cancer is the risk you took. I consider people mourning over your death as indirect.
I like to think I stay calm in most situations but can be a little too quiet-spoken at the same time. I've been working on it.
I don't consider myself a pessimist. I'm a realist and what you would call a "futurist". If I'm ever looking back, it's to make the future better. I have a lot of big dreams for the future, rather it's my personal life or being a part of the movement that turns this country/world back in the right direction. I think technology, when used correctly, will solve most of the world's problems.
I like art, especially symbolic and abstract art. I like reading but don't do it nearly enough. I am open-minded when it comes to music but highly prefer faster/dynamic music and the vocals must be clear if there are any.
I like seeing creativity and try to stretch mine as much as possible. I like dyed hair and tattoos. I think largely gauged ears look weird.
I hope to one day soon change my whole style, before college. I want to wear clothes that actually show a part of me, more than just something I bought from a store with a gift card, or something somebody else bought for me.
I don't like having long hair or short hair. At the bottom of ears/right above my eyes is probably perfect. I want red streaks in my hair. I want to pierce my left ear, and gauge it to 14 (13 if possible). I also want to get my lip pierced, on the bottome, on the side. I want to get one full sleeve tattoo, dissipitating/fading out slowly when it reaches my back/chest. I also want to tattoo three rings on my fingers.
I want to follow a new calendar. I thought of it on my own one day and I've come to find out there's a movement to switch to it. It will have 13 months instead of 12. 28 days a month. It follows the moon perfectly and makes much more sense for many reasons. I plan to start following it when the New Year happens for it in what the normal calendar calls July.
I regret not dropping out of high school as soon as possible, at 15 with parent permission, 16 without. My current situation is this: I graduate high school with a ~1.5 GPA, good for nothing besides the diploma. I go to community college for two years, where I get A's. This is because I wouldn't get accepted into a university and so I can get the first few general classes out of the way for cheaper. With that, I move on to a university and graduate from there. If I would of dropped out, my situation would of been this: Drop out, ged GED, get better paying job... From there either concentrate on work to raise money for the future/college, or move onto college as soon as possible. In this way, I would be years ahead of the socially correct path I am finishing now. Update: I finished and I could still say I regret it but I'm going to attempt to not regret anything.
I hope to one day know more languages, be a part of something bigger, live in New Town with Hippy and our Pomeranian, Teddy... Have the car I want, and run my own business from home with plenty of time to enjoy life and learn what I can. I hope to retire around 35-40 years old because of smart investing. I'm not out to be hugely rich, I'm out to live life to the fullest, learn as much as I can, and leave a positive mark behind. Update: I don't think I want to live in New Town anymore... There have been more cops there and the symbolism frightens me. We also now have two Pomeranian's, Teddy and her daughter Sound. Sound is fixed, Teddy still needs it. We also have a cat (half-rescued, ha) named Hunter (he wears a pink collar and always looks angry no matter what.)

I'm going to make this as short as possible...
Today (Thursday, December 6th, 2007): 1. Got my braces removed! Had them on since Sept. '07. 2. Went to Starbucks afterwards, said I had to wait for mom because I had no money on me, they said it was on them today... Got a small decaf White Chocolate Mocha (deliciousness). 3. Then they gave me a free sample of some strawberry lemonade slushy-like thing, which was delicious also. 4. Then I asked about a job... They seemed interested in highering me even though I said I don't turn 18 until January... And took my application anyway... To put in for multiple Starbuck's... 5. Spencer Medley and Mike Womer described this as the special treatment people without braces get and welcomed me into their world. 6. I only had to go to 4th, 5th, and 6th hours today... + Lunch. 7. 4th Hour we made Pizza Bagels in... Which were amazingly delicious also... My group consists of Mike Womer, Spencer Medley and David Smith so it's pretty sweet. 8. 5th Hour we finished watching The Muppets version of A Christmas Carol, movies are always good. 9. Today at the library I decided I was going to be reading A Clockwork Orange as my next novel for my Reading & Writing Workshop class... The main deciding factor was the reviews saying it was a philosophical book, which is what I was looking for. 10. My mom and I went grocery shopping today... I'm making Spaghetti on my own, the sauce from scratch tomorrow in my 4th hour class (free cooking day)... I'm also bringing in Sparkling Apple Cider, which I love... 11. At the grocery store I found these SimplyAsia microwaveable meals, they look delicious and I love the detail in the packaging... 12. I also got Gingerbread Poptarts, Chocolate Soy Milk and the soy version of EggNog... Which is an improvement (I had my doubts.) + 3 boxes of Hot Chocolate... I'm going to try combining the chocolate soy milk with hot chocolate and eggnog with hot chocolate... 13. Friday (tomorrow) I'm going to go see The Golden Compass hopefully... Most likely a later show if I go... I really want to because it's one of my favorite book series (read it when I was in 5th grade though...)... If anybody can/wants to come, call my cell please (314) 368-4208. My car is being fixed BTW, something with the battery/alternator most likely.

Today I went to the mall with Hippy and Teshia. I decided to go to Books-A-Million and Twiggy found us there... It started out as a small obsession with the newly (and nicely) styled books for the His Dark Material's trilogy by Phillip Pullman (The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass)... I've been interested in reading these books again because they were my favorite books for a few years until I forgot what they were like for the most part... I heard a movie was being planned a few years ago, and the books said holiday season 2007... Found out the first of three movies will be released on December 7, 2007 in the United States... Anyways... I went crazy about the books once again because I found that there was a fourth small book released... Plus a book explaining the science behind the trilogy... I was looking at the official websites and wikipedia articles... The article said that the first main world is one of a Steampunk influence...
What is Steampunk? From Wikipedia:
Steampunk is a subgenre of fantasy and speculative fiction which came into prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often set in Victorian era England—but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date. Other examples of steampunk contain alternate history–style presentations of "the path not taken" of such technology as dirigibles or analog computers; these frequently are presented in an idealized light, or a presumption of functionality. It is often associated with cyberpunk and shares a similar fanbase and theme of rebellion, but developed as a separate movement (though both have considerable influence on each other). Apart from time period and level of technological development, the main difference between cyberpunk and steampunk is that steampunk settings usually tend to be less obviously dystopian than cyberpunk, or lack dystopian elements entirely.

CyberPunk has always been of interest to me... As well as Victorian styled stuff... And I've loved the setting of many things the article listed as partially steampunk... Though I never knew a name for it, just knew that it was amazing to me...

Steampunk as a subculture:
Because of the popularity of steampunk with people in the goth, punk, cyber and Industrial subcultures, there is a growing movement towards establishing steampunk or "Steam" as a culture and lifestyle.
The most immediate form of steampunk subculture is the community of fans surrounding the genre. Others move beyond this, attempting to adopt a "steampunk" aesthetic through fashion, home decor and even music. This movement may also be (more accurately) described as "Neo-Victorianism", which is the amalgamation of Victorian aesthetic principles with modern sensibilities and technologies. (The growth of which was presaged by science fiction writer Neal Stephenson in The Diamond Age.)
"Steampunk" fashion has no set guidelines, but tends to synthesize punk, goth and rivet styles as filtered through the Victorian era. This may include Mohawks and extensive piercings with corsets and tattered petticoats, Victorian suits with goggles and boots with large soles and buckles or straps, and the Lolita fashion and Elegant Gothic Aristocrat styles. Some of what defines steampunk fashion has come from cyberpunk, and cyberlocks have appeared being used by people adopting a steampunk look.
"Steampunk" music is even less defined, and tends to apply to any modern musicians whose music evokes a feeling of the Victorian era or steampunk. This may include such diverse artists as Tom Waits, Abney Park, Emilie Autumn, The Dresden Dolls, Rasputina, and Vernian Process."
Steampunk as an Object Style: "Various modern utilitarian objects such as computer keyboards and electric guitars have been reimplemented by individual craftpersons in a pseudo-Victorian mechanical "steampunk" style. The goal of the redesigns are to employ appropriate materials (such as polished brass, iron, and wood) with design elements and craftsmanship consistent with the Victorian era. This is a form of modding."
So basically, before I get carried away in posting too much stuff from wikipedia entries... I love the whole idea of this because it's always visually appealed to me in all the art forms... Final Fantasy has always been one of my favorite games... For the most part because of the world in which they create... Some of my favorite books have this setting... Favorite television shows and movies... (Trigun, etc.) Musically... Emilie Autumn has been one of my favorite artists for a while now... Though I can't say I've really listened to any of the other artists mentioned, so I might check them out. As a subculture and object style, Steampunk fits me fairly well also... Basically... I have this thing where I'd like to customize basically everything I get my hands on... Which is what lead me into being interested in DIY... Though I haven't for real started... This is because I'm a little lost in what objects I want to include in my future and what I want to get rid of... I really don't want to waste time customizing shit that I'll just get rid of... Or develop more of an attachment to an object that I was going to throw away but customized... Plus... I'm currently a little low on time. I guess it's not really Steampunk in full, but the idea that everything is better with some unique touch.
This all lead to CyberPunk and BioPunk again... CyberPunk clothing... I don't like all the shiny latex and lame plastic toys... I don't know if that's really cyberpunk... But... At the roots of the style is clothing that is typically more useful than average clothing and/or enhances a person's ability. This is also something I wanted to incorporate into my general style and customization of objects... One of the first things I've wanted to do was add inside pockets to my zip-up hoodies and a hidden zipper to close the pockets so objects won't fall out.
My general thought is to not become a punk in every politically-right sense... But to enhance everything my own way. I don't want to be reliant on anything but myself. I'd also like to just generally make things that I own better and to show more of my definition... This doesn't mean that I will blindly buy products as I have before... Well, I've always researched for better alternatives... But I would like to start buying online and being able to research company history and substitutes easily... Maybe being a little more consumer-conscious.

I've been thinking a lot more than usual lately. Thinking about writing this, I decided it's outdated to go on and on about a subject. Getting straight to the point is much better... Nobody is bored enough to want to sit through all the useless words... Not saying it couldn't be worded more interestingly though.
BTW, I might go on alot about a topic instead of getting to the point...
I'm scared. I believe there are many lives to live and something greater past material Earth. I still have my doubts though... What if this really is the end of us? We die and that's it. I think much pain and stress is worth going through to experience even a little happiness in our short lives. Maybe it'd be better to look at things that way. Do people straight out of college know exactly what to do when they are on site of their first job? What's the difference between a prestigious university and a community college with this? I heard community colleges teach more personally... Some technology repair truck passed by my bus today and
started those thoughts in case you were wondering.Why does it seem like people are drifting apart? It has been this way since I got back from Wisconsin for spring break... Like people didn't care to stay connected. Thirty or so people visited Jeremiah in the hospital in one day. It was like one big family again. I thought if anything good came out of it, that must be it. Does anyone remember all of our huge parties? Staying up all night - sunrise in the morning - walks to McDonalds for breakfast? Did our group just expand too rapidly? Why is there so much drama between people now?
Why do strong-willed people end up letting other's opinion change them so much?
So many things to do.
Too many problems to fix in the world.
Is the school system actually near perfect for most?
Are we all that stupid?
Or have we not learned to use our minds fully?
I wonder how things will be in five years.
