Unique Leader signs Execration, Here is a statement from Colin : "All of us in Execration thank Erik for the opportunity to become part of the Unique Leader Records roster. We have been writting material for the second coming full length entitled Acceptence of Zero Existence for a few months and will continue putting together new material until we hit the studio near the end of this year.....look for the new album to be out late 09 early 2010 We beleive that this is the best move for Execration at this time and we know that we will definitely get the exposure that we need. We are very exited to work with Unique Leader Records and look foward to getting our music out there as much as possible.

Formed by Colin Foran after parting ways with Absolute Hatred, Execration is the culmination of beastial thoughts that were forming and festering in his demented skull. Wanting to force feed the masses unrelenting brutality, Colin built his homicidal bunch with Kevin Elrod on drums, Jason Moore on guitars and Don Evans on growls. Sharing bass work with Mike Poggioine (Monstrosity), the band set forth in their unenviable task of making Colorado Springs a hot bed for insidious terror.

Combining old school and modern techniques alike, A Feast for the Wretched is a chugging, beastly assault of churning metal and pummeling groove. Thick riffs, catchy hooks, skull bludgeoning rhythms and superb vocal deliveries cut through humanity with the efficiency of an axe weilding sociopath. Among the groove-laiden riffs the group hurls technical fills and ferocious tempos like flayed body parts.

Intro
The album starts out with your stereotypical "intro," complete with distant thunder and the sounds farm animals.

Embedded in Gore
A big growl and evil guitar work start this one off at a methodical, bruising pace. After a slick bit of guitar work at the :30 point, the band explodes in a flurry of activity with unrelenting drums, guttural growls and driving riffs. Layered screams and growls really give this album unexpected depth and power. There's a great head banging groove flowing like a torn femoral artery throughout this track.

Retard Strength
Chugging riffs and deep, guttural growls start off "Retard Strength." Dude, there is a crazy sound clip thrown in at the 17 second point that had me laughing so hard that I missed a good portion of the song. It's completely out of left field, and pretty damned rude. There are some sick, layered vocals on this one that are aggressive as hell.

Combined Nuclei
"Combined Nuclei" starts off with staggered growls and guitar hits before descending into maddening hell with churning riffs and crushing drums. After a brief sound clip, the group settles into a groove-laiden bit of death metal with evil guitar squeals and hooks. There are explosions of organized chaos that really tie this one together nicely. It's an aggressive, yet flowing track.

Implements of Insanity
Thick, beefy riffs and thundering drums accompany guttural vocals as this next one gets moving along at a brisk pace. There's a nice cadence to the vocals as the drums explode in a variety of directions. Several tempo changes keep you on your toes through bludgeoning riffs and layered vocals.

Full Fist Sodomy
The title to this one sounds horrifically painful — as do the lyrics. The song starts off with some light riffing and building drums. When the vocals come in, the pace maintains, but gets overly sludgy, like you're the fist in the title. There are some immense riffs and rhythm blasts that help punctuate portions of the lyrics. There's a brief stoppage at 1:02 before the group gets back into their pummeling assault. There is a series of beefy riffs and a super low, guttural growl before the two minute mark that's pretty devastating. It ends with some odd sound clip of an acousting singer crooning about sodomy.

Monkey Shit
This track sounds huge. Big riffs, layered vocals and maniacal drums get this monstrous song off to a brutal start. A mass of chugging riffs and groove oriented rhythms take over and do their damnedest to bludgeon you senseless. This is the strongest track on the album and has more than enough punishing riffs, thunderous rhythms and ferocious growls for any fan of brutal death metal, yet has a slick groove to it. I love the low end growl and slowing down of the riffs after the 3:30 mark, before another explosion of furious drums and growls explode from the speakers to end the track.

Brutal Suppression
"Brutal Suppression" is just that. Execration tear through this one at a maniacal pace with driving riffs, aggressive layered vocals and unrelenting rhythms. Right from the start you know your in for one hell of a ride. After the two minute mark the track seems to get more powerful and darker with insane riffing and huge rhythms. The duel vocal attack doesn't hurt either.

Penetration Butchery
Quick drum work and heavy riffing get this fnal track off to an aggressive start. The drums never slow down throughout the track, leaving you breathless and wanting more. It's an impressive and bludgeoning song and a strong finish to an excellent debut album. The track fades slowly.

~ ~ ~

Execrations' A Feast for the Wretched is an uncompromising take on brutal death metal. Mixing elements of old school, groove-laiden death with modern, technical influences, the group has unleashed one hell of a debut album. This thing is beyond brutal and catchy at the same time. I'm ready for more from these guys.

interview with colin of excration

http://www.myspace.com/execrationbrutality

1.hey colin.thanks for the intie.first off tell us abrief history of the band and current line up.and execration is your first band or you guys went through some brutal death bands?

The band itself has only been around for a few months....it has been an
idea of mine for a couple of years though...I myself started writting some
songs and trying to make Execration style a little over a year ago. I
called
up long time freind and drummer Kevin Elrod and asked him if he wanted to
start this project Execration....it was on!!! We went through a few guitar
and bass players, and a vocalist, before we had a solid lineup....which is
Kevin, drums, Jason, guitars, Darrell, vocals, Bones, bass, and me Colin,
guitars and vocals. Before this project I was in a death metal band here in
Colorado Springs called Absolute Hatred....this band is where I got the old
school influence that you hear in the music that I write today. Darrell and
Bones are still in Absolute Hatred, but I dont think they have done
anything
for over 2 years

2.you mix old school and new school death metal in good ways.so describe your bands sound on your own words.i guess you listen to new school bands as well as old school ones.what bands influence the band alot?

The bands sound in my own words.......I really love guttural slam, and
have been really into it for the last few years....and from being in
Absolute Hatred...I still have a little old school in me, so I tried to
mesh
these 2 styles of death metal...less old school than guttural slam....and
it
camr out....in my eyes pretty original sounding...and if you really listen
to it, you can hear a lot of different band influences from cephalotripsy,
to putrid pile, to dethroned, and so on and so forth

3.the band includes total two vocalists right? your vocals are so varied ranging from ultra lows to growls, highs and etc.describe your vocals style and what bands influence your style?

the main influence in the vocal style is the future fans of
Execration....I wanted to give them as much as possible to listen to, as
many layers of vocals, ranging from guttural lows, to brutl mids, even some
highs...without making the songs sound like a clusterfuck of riffs and
vocals mashed up together...to me too much would be confusing...so I tried
to not throw too much in there. Now bands that influnced me to attempt this
are bands like Putrid Pile, where Shaun does alot of highs and shit like
that.

4.the band has tons of old school breakdowns right? why do you choose this way and how do you think about devourment style breakdowns which tons of new school bands love?

If you really break the music down you will notice that is about half and
half bettween the old school breakdowns, and the new Devourment style
breakdowns....I grew up on bands like Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, and
Deicide...so of course they had a lot of influnce on m ein my earlier death
metal stages....I tried to keep all of that out of Execration...but I still
dig an old school groove, so incorperated that riffing into the new style
without trying to make it sound like oyur typical Cannibal Corpse, or
Deicide song (not that theres any thing wrong with Cannibal Corpse or
Deicide, its that it is just time for all this new guttural slam death
metal
to get its moment, everybodys ready...I hope!!!!

5.what kind of gears do you guys use?

we are endorsed by Madison Amps (www.madisonamps.com) they are only
about
100 miles from where we are here in colorado, so its good to be so close
and
have such a good relationship with your amp maker, because if you want your
sound tweeked you can bring it the guy that made that amp...and in my eyes
thats pretty fucking cool!!! We are also endorsed by the sickest custom
metal guitar shop around...AHK Metal Guitars...they are here in town about
15 min away....the main man in my previous band Absolute Hatred, Casey,
owns
runs and builds these custom...and let me tell you they are some of the
sickest, dirtiest sounding guitars on the face of this planet!!! So all of
the strings jam these badass axes, and i occasinally play my
Jacksons...still love em!!! Kevin plays about a 634 piece Pearl drum
set....no its not 634 pieces...but pretty fucking close!

6.tell us about your scene.any good bands there?
and you guys have side bands besides execration

The scene here is really shitty!!!!! We are in my eyes about the only
non-local sounding band here in town, there are a couple of other good death metal bands here...back in the late 90s it was a lot
better than now...up in Denver its a little better, but definitely not the
best....Dethroned used to be in Denver, but the main man moved to Finland.

7.do you have upcoming releases and merch? and how is response to demo?

we are getting all of our merch made up now, there is going to be the
usual stuff, t shirts, hoodies, stickers, etc...The response to the demo so
far is overwhelming!!!! You guys seem to be loving it, which is fucking
awesome, because everybody likes their own music, but you dont know what to
expect from the peple who count, FANS, and weve had the music out for 2
weeks now, and i have almost gone through the 100 cds I had
duplicated....now half of those went to labels...but the other half has
sold
over the internet...so we are getting a fucking badd ass response I
think!!!! We have a few record labels interested as of right now, hopefull
we can work something out with one of them....because with or without them
I
plann on releasing a full length by the end of this year.

8.what bands have you been into recently?

the bands i have been into recently is all you dirty greasy nasty, pukey
sounding guttural slam bands, that bring your sounds from hell to all these
fans that thrive of of this shit....bands like Condemned, Cephalotripsy,
Digested Flesh...etc keep doing what you guys are doing, I look up to every
single one of you motherfuckers!!!!

9.thanks for the intie bro.any last words you would like to add?

I want to thank you Seiji for giving me and Execration the opportunity
to
help spread the word, and being able to do this interview with
you......Colin, Execration
