been havin some van troubles and it looks like we have to put a new engine in the old girl. so we almost had to cancell our eats coast tour. however. me and ol' daver are soldiering on in his car "the seaduck". playing all the shows we were gonna play. i'll be playing plugged in electric and acoustic sets and we will be joined by our buddies in certain cities. playin drums and bass and all sorts of whatnot. it's gonna be a freakin country bear jambaroo. so check out the dates and come party with us.

hey folks...

jesse here. i'm out here on the olympic penninsula, in lovely washington state. and i thought i'd take a chance to let you all know what's goin on with me, the band and all that shit.

1) i won't be playing any shows with the faslling angels until late september/ early october. like i said. i'm out in washington, i'm finishing up a house i've been building with my folks out here. and i'll be here until late july. i'm also working on getting a solo/ acoustic show together.  after washington, i will be headed to san diego, which will be my new homebase for the forseeable future. some time this fall i will head back to minneapolis and practice up with the falling angels for Fest down in gainesville and possibly a tour depending on what the f'n'a's are doing at the time.

2) i will be playing shows in the mean time. i'm doing 2 shows with Tiltwheel and Too Many Daves on july 11th and 12th, in florida (tampa, and gainesville). in early august i will be touring down the west coast to san diego. i will also be playing at Awesome Fest 2 in riverside, ca and Thrill Fest at thrillhouse records in san francisco, ca. plus a few shows in san diego probably here and there.

3)we have a few new records out/coming out. out now on a.d.d. records is a split between us and cortez the killer go to www.myspace.com/addrecords  . out soon on fast crowd is a split with dan padilla. you can preorder it at www.myspace.com/fcrecs  . and out soon as well is a split with appleton's 24 inch pythons.

4) we will be doing some other projects. i'm gponna start a couple bands in san diego. and hopefully record a record with county line road and myself . dan has a side project called churchkey. and casey can do shadow puppets like you wouldn't believe.

5) we are out of shirts and as soon as we get some cash we are gonna print more. i should have some in florida and at the fests and we'll let ya know when we have some for sale from the site.

6)you're all tight folks and i look forward to playing a show and partying with you as soon as possible. in fact, if you are setting up a tight show somewhere and you can give me a place to stay, a couple of beers, and it's totally a bad idea, i'll come running.

tour was pretty fucking awesome. good friends, good shows, great burritos, bad tattoos, hell yeah.

so, after playing an awesome and extremely drunk show at the hexagon. i awoke way late and too drunk friday at noon. instead of doing all the shit i should have done i headed out with dave and mutant to drinks and a little food at grumpy's. eventually we got around to getting the rental car and picked everyone up at exactly rush hour. and we headed out on our first day of tour to, nowhere. the first show had fallen thru so we drove got a hotel. drank beer and watched t.v. not too shabby.

day 2. ft. collins, co

we played a cool and strange show at an old school house a bunch of folks lived. cortez played outside and the cops showed, so we played inside. tight shit. then we went to a bar got drunk, got a pizza and settled down to a nice nights sleep in the car.

day 3. denver, co.

after our morning burrito, we headed to denver from ft. collins. bout an hour drive and then we hit up the rockies vs. twins game. twins lost, beer cost six bucks, still good times, sun burns (outside stadium).  we tried to get a hotel room in the city and all go swimming. unfortunately, in some kind of internet accident, we ended up twenty minutes away in the suburbs. oh well, cheap hilton, nice pool. good times. rather poorly attended show at the three kings, but a couple of folks from the band get some showed up so, some of us stayed with them the rest back to the hotel.

day 4. also denver

long day of hangin out.  2nd poorly attended show. good salsa con queso and margaritas. oh well.

day 5. drive.

hotel rooms. wine. i gave myself a tattoo of a dead duck. partyed with cortez. 

day 6.  las cruces new mexico.

long drive, well worth it. tight ass show. with ninja gun and band of enchantment. lots of kids good times. delicious homemade enchiladas.  made some cortez the killer shirts. after the show we went back to our friend chealsey's place and watched some t.v. carnage then went to sleep.

day 7. fucking san diego hell yeah.

after the long drive we went to josh mosh's and had some beers and champagne. down to the show at the tower. fucking great show. tons of folks. tons of friends. whiskey shots. after show, way wasted after party at josh's may or may not have acted like an idiot, too drunk to know.

day 8. long beach.

party marty told us all kindsa cool snoop dog stories. drank beers. show was cool. space was awesome. we played first cortez next. underground railroad to candyland were fucking spectacular. drug fueled dance party. then japanther ruined it by playing.  oh well. weird ass afterparty. not much sleep. breakfast burritos.

day 9. riverside.

met up with ninja gun again for kick ass show. also with the tight ass turkish techno and the legendary dan padilla. great show. j wang was riding on dave's back while we were playing. everybody was wasted and having fun. brandy margarita afterparty at the turkish techno house. wild good times. lots of throwing folks in bushes.

day 10. san francisco

thrillhouse records. always a good time. tight show. lots of folks. other bands were tight. EL FUCKING FAROLITO! i ate too much. went and hung out with andy, dooley, and radu formerly of minneapolis. stayed with radu. simpsons. sleep. yeah.

day 11. oakland

house show. fucking great house show. punkin pie played and were awesome. tulsa were amazing as all ways. bought some pills. i was having one of those jesse is a depressed piece of shit days. took off.  got a hotel near sacromento. then i got drunk. then i felt better.

day 12. no show tonight. dude whpo was supposed to set it up sort of stop writing me. oh well can't have everything, where would you put it? drove to portland. hung out with tonkin. watched a bunch of t.v. in the car.

day 13. portland.

burritos from la serinita. awesome show at the ranch. bunch of kids. got to see a lot of old buddies from when i lived there. got way drunk. then we went to a radio show. i swore withen the first 5 words... "hey portland, how the fuck are ya?" i'm an idiot. oh well. blacked out. tried to watch there will be blood. hungover next day, but totaly worth it.

day 14. seattle

drank beers with pete and t.r. and all the folks at the ramp house. headed to the bit saloon. the promoter was bbq ing burgers and hot dogs. drank tequilla with jerome from snuggle. first band i think was the worst psychobilly band i think i have ever seen. oh well, merle haggard cover band afterwards made up for it. fun show. not a ton of folks, but we had a good time. back to the ramp. too much booze, couple pills. good times.

day 15 seattle.

probably best show of tour. pete had set the show up at the squid and ink. awesome space. some equipment problems but, packed show, lots of fun. beer flying people singing and dancing. like a crazy ass episode of the muppett show. gas money we needed pretty bad. went back to pete's drank beers. good times.

day 16. livingston, mt

small show. still pretty good time. quinn showed us a good time. dave disorder's brotherin law showed up bought me whiskey. i puked. then i drank more. drove to billings drinking beer and jamming out on the drive. got a hotel andshowered up.

 

day 17. fargo.

tight ass show. seth's birthday. good times. lots of booze. got the p.a. turned off on us. oh well, fuck em. tight as afterparty. i dunno...

HELL YEAH!

 

We just got back from our "well fed" tour with the Goll Darn Doo Wop Band, and it turns out, as it were, that doing the twist 10 consecutive nights in a row does not get boring.  The road was pretty good to us, with some minor Doo Wop van repairs, and we kept busy on the long drives by willing our parading lunchbox on wheels, averaging a casual 85 mph, to arrive in every city unexploded and in one piece.  And when that got old, we waxed varying places of our bodies with duct tape, labeling them, and then plastering them to the ceiling of Chris' van for him to redeem as cash-like prizes on a later date.  Only, instead of having a monitary value, they had something even better...little pieces of hair stuck all over them.   Coupled with us, the Doo Wop kids went over like gang busters everywhere we played.  There's just something about indulging in the serenades of rowdy, gorgeous, punk girls that turns even the "coolest" mother fuckers into mush.  I swear a room full of paraplegics could find a way to dance to this shit...unfortunately, and inevitably, crippling themselves once again before the night is over.  PBT and folks had some pretty swell nights, as we tend to tighten our shit up when playing everyday on the road.  But, we somehow ended up being the rowdiest band at almost every show...which is all well and good, but it turns out that people who show up specifically to see pretty girls sing Doo Wop, aren't always going to like fast, drunk, punk-country...or whatever it is.  But fuck it, it made for an entertaining dynamic.  Doo Wop made pretty songs, and we (un)intentionally sabotaged their every show by eventually bombarding the stage at some point in the set.  Fuckin' match made in heaven.  Traveling 13 deep was a blast and I would do it again in a heart beat.  Of course, some problems will arise when 13 different suggestions are offered for how to most efficiently scratch one's ass, but there was always someone around to reassure you that drinking that last beer, and smoking one final cigarette, was indeed a good idea.  Fuckin' a, I guess that's it for now.  I have yet to sleep yet after driving all night through the beautiful cascading hills of Iowa, and sleep deprivation is taking over.  Seriously, has anyone ever noticed that the monotony of midnight freeway driving through Iowa is enough to make you hallucinate.  I guess it didn't happen this time around...but fuck, there is nothing more terrifying than what appears to be small children running along side of your van at 75 mph, in the middle of no where, at 4 a.m.  Wow, anyway...Fuckin' super awesome radical thanks again to Danny Mo Mac for setting us up in Milwaukee on 12 hours notice.  As it turns out, we definitely needed that money to make it back to MPLS.  Good to be back MPLS, and we'll see all you crazy bastards when we do.

so after play our second home, the hexagon bar. me and casey stuck around to get paid and then headed back to the alamo for a few more drinks we didn't need. all in all i got about 2 hours of drunken sleep before casey informed that it was seven a.m. and time to go. after picking up mutant and dan and going to the walker to get mutant's check, we left at about 9 thirty. (insert boring drive to bozeman montana here). we got into bozeman at like 11:30 p.m. got a weird ass hotel room (glass walls and door on all the rooms, something like a patio). and decided to go to a bar. i asked the front desk guy where the punk bar was and with out hesitation He said "zebra's down under". we'll we got to this shit hole and the bouncer told us there was a bluegrass band playing. cool thinks i. since we're on tour he gives us a deal at the door... guess what? in bozeman blugrass band means fucking lame ass
jam band w/ a banjo. fuck shit fuck. we went next door and got a little drunk before going back to the room. (insert other boring drive here) Since our portland show never happened, we arrived in seattle and two minutes after we got there we were told we could open at this crust/metal show, opening up for witchhunt(profane existance) and face down in shit (buddies of mine from when they lived in portland on relapse records). it was a blast, actually. we got drunk went to a party at my old house in seattle. next day tonkin took us out for free wheat sandwhiches on wheat bread. and they were fucking good. then we stuffed records and headed to the fire breathing kangaroo house and started drinking at like 2. good times. we played a drunk but great set at an awesome punk house to great fucking freinds. more drinking. three hours of sleep. drive to san francisco. van over heated and me and mutant walked to this odd resort in the mountains and got pickle jars full of water.
we made it to s.f. played a good show w/ our buddies the train wreck riders. and some other band who weren't very good but, the drummer was gorgeous. ran into our old freind and second drummer radu. stayed w/ him got drunk. i passed out drinking cheap beer and watching barfly like i was having a religous experience. next day fucked around went to ameboe records, got an old mccrackins twelve inch for a dollar (that's all it's worth, but it's funny. around five we drove to the park where we were going to play. on our way there got to witness a car chase (i guess it really does happen all the time there. sorry for doubting you, steve mcqueen.) it waas something about a stolen car. anyhoo, we played in the park w/ four quarters, shotwell, and tulsa. it was fun but we didn't play very well. got drunk at the bar across the street from, radu's. i puked. next day, one hot drive to ventura ca (we had no show) well, i should say hot drive till we got close to ventura. then it got foggy and chilly. undaunted, we used the motel pool and hot tub(outdoor) the smoked cigars, drank beer andplayed poker. next arizona, i guess it was an allright show, except for this old drunk guy slam dancing by himself. really fucking annoying. long drive to las cruces played a cool show in an old farmhouse, moderate attendance so, of course we played well. then immediately after the show we took off for tulsa . dan and mutant were dozing in the back and me and casey had taken some adderall and we're drinking mouthwash and beer. in the middle of the night a deer ran out in the road and although we tried our best to avoid it we still hit it. we ended up diving until four o'clock in the afternoon to get to tulsa. at which point the girl who was supposed to have set up the show stopped answering her telephone. we waited in an abandoned mall for awhile. then we drove into missouri. me and mutant watched a dirty herry movie and then slept. (boring drive home) and hour after being back at the alamo hous i got sick.
