Hey guys, I'm so sorry that it's taken me so long to get on here and write this blog! I've been pretty busy lately but I'm glad that I'm finally on here writing this! Well, for those of you who might not know, my mom, dad, and I set out a few weeks ago to go to California and meet with Todd Smallwood to record a few songs. I can't say that our trip started out great, but I can say that it started out with a BANG! When we had just arrived to Todd's ranch, where we were staying, we were all talking and getting to know each other when suddenly my dad falls to the floor. When we all turned around to see what happened we saw that my dad was having a sort of seizure and he's never done anything like that before. Todd ran over to turn him over and my mom and I were both freaking out and getting our our phones to call 911. When we looked back at my dad he was gray all over and definitely not breathing. All I can tell you is that I know my dad was gone. I was screaming and crying, on the floor praying. Immediately my mom ran to my dad and started performing cpr and we thought that it was over because it wasn't working at all. Finally my dad came back to breathing again and we were all yelling at him trying to keep him awake and alert. When the ambulance got there they took him to the hospital and Mom and I followed in Todd's car because they would only let one person in the ambulance. Well, my prayers worked because my dad was okay! They did a lot of tests on him at the hospital and still couldn't really explain to us what happened and why. We were all shocked that something like that happened to such a healthy guy! One thing I know is that this experience in my life was a wake-up call. I've never lost anyone close to me or even almost lost anyone. That night I lost my dad, I was lucky that it was only for a few seconds! My mom really is a hero and if she hadn't known cpr my dad would not be here today. I love my parents with all of my heart and wouldn't know what to do without either one of them. I'm a lucky kid, with a wonderful family and life. We're also working on getting a specialist to work with my dad on whatever is going wrong! Well enough about all of that crazy crazy stuff! Let's talk about the good things! I loved being out there on Todd's ranch and I know my parents did too! We love him and Melissa both and we're all great friends now! You might be wondering who Melissa is, haha! She's Todd's cocka-poodle, which is a mix between cocker spaniel and poodle! I'm getting one of her puppies so you can be jealous! Haha, and all I can say is we had a great time with them! I did record about 3 songs with Todd while I was out there, we did two of my older songs and our new version of Midnight Train to Georgia! I can't wait for you guys to hear the new stuff! Todd is a great guy and great at what he does. He is definitely one of smartest people I've ever met and he's an inspiration to me. I hope I can be like Todd someday! He's not only all of that, but also one of my best friends! We love you Todd! (and Melissa!)
