My voice podcast - soon to be Vodcast on Space Distances & Why we think we know them. URL http://mrcrowder.us/school/spacedispodcst.m4a Feed: feed://mrcrowder.us/school/tinc?key=uJSUWOXA Added Movie to make this a Vodcast - still on the "To Do" list. I used a new Samson G Track USB powered mic that plugged right into the Mac (they're only about $130 at Amazon), and made the podcast in Garageband. Then, of course Itunes can subscribe to the feed, and its Ipod downloadable. Thanks for letting me air this out in public,, but it's meant as a public service anyway.. So, feel free to comment and critique as these sort of things are never finished.

www.youtube.com/homeproject Something everyone should see! We've reached a tipping point where our current economic paradigm will sterilize the entire earth. Something I've predicted since I was in college, and has been readily obvious to most of the Scientific community for over a decade. Welcome to the world of the Rapa Nui, my fellow Rapa Nuians, and enjoy your last vestiges of life in the fast lane! Dave

As my trip departure approaches, I am once again looking for people to meet along the road, and couches to surf. I'll be driving this year. If anyone would like a visit from a wayfaring conguero along the path of, Boulder - Salt Lake City, Salt Lake - Reno, Reno - San Francisco, San Fran - Arcata, Arcata - Portland, Portland - Salt Lake, and back again, then let me know! I'll be heading out around July 12th, and shooting for August 4th back in Boulder. The drum camp in Arcata is July 25th - August 1st. Dave

It's called space distances. How do we know how far stars are away from us? How can we possibly know when stars are billions of light years away?

I made it for my 8th graders, but maybe some of my friends could learn a thing or two..

Enjoy!

Here's a song I was working on with Garage Band yesterday.
The song starts on the 5th strike of the 7 stroke 6/8 bell.
I sang the fundamental and played bell simultaneously. Good practice, since it twists the bell around in your mind to sing so far on the back side of clave!
Then, over dubbed the 3rd and 5ths, then the akpon last.
It was transcribed from Lazaro Ros's CD Osayin.

Then, I also did one to our Rumba Tonada called "Ken Keni Gu Mar"

Hi guys, I recently got my vid conferencing working with skype.
You can go to skype.com to download the program for your platform. It works seamlessly between Mac and PC, which pretty much makes it alone in that regard.
This would be good for us folks that are a bit nerdy about technique, rhythm, and song and looking for a quick easy way to find out a new way to play something, or a new rhythm, or song right at your computer without charge!
My skype user name is windhorsey if anyone wants to add the contact and start a video chat.

For the last two days I've been working with the new computer's sound and video software. Garage Band, and Imovie combining some sound clips from my CD Animal Dreams, and recording new tracks with the multi-track function to make some songs to go with the sounds and pictures of the didjeridus I'm selling. The small ones will go for $200, and the big ones for $300.
Here's the YouTube link:
