Hi all,

It's been a wile since I last did a William update. We've been hiding ourselfs in a rehearsal room for the past few months working on new material and it's all going rather well.

We've been recording with Dom from Sunset Cinema Club too and it's coming along nicely! Kind of a different sound compared to previous recordings.

A split 7'' is in the pipline with Calories towards the end of the year too which we're very excited about. I'll keep you all posted on that very soon.

Right, our first headline show in frickin' months is taking place for Chamber @ The Windmill, Brixton on the 1st October so pop along if you're free. I think it's a couple of quid in or something. We will be showcasing new material, of course.

See you there.

Hello people.

This email should have come to you on Monday night but we've been playing CWM Festival in Wales and my computer has only just started working again.

Anyways, William recently recorded thier second session for John Kennedy's Xposure. Each night this week he'll be playing tracks from Slightly Delighted plus a brand new track which I think was played on last nights show. You can listen by clicking the 'listen again' tab and selecting John Kennedy:

Hello,

I just thought I would apologise to those that may have wanted to see us at the Fly or in Manchester a couple of weeks ago.

We had to cancel the shows because I managed to bust my thumb doing this:
Its called a 'boneless' and in that pictue it looks pretty awesome, but unfortunately i was only trying to do it down piddly little stairs outside this place:
which is shameful. but i was only doing some food shopping as opposed to being out on a major skate mission. And if its any consolation i didn't actually fall either, I just managed to almost pull my thumb out of its socket by grabbing the board way too hard.

geez.

anyway. it meant i couldn't play guitar, and i had to visit the Minor Injuries Clinic in St Pauls and have an X-Ray. Which in tself was fun and the nurse was very helpful and nice. And it didn't take too long because it wasn't busy on a friday afternoon...  I was going to post a picture of myself with my sling on but thought that a bit pitiful.

But aaaannnyyyywwwaaayyyyy - -- ->>> before all that happened - I got to play guitar with Johnny Foreigner at the Flowerpot the other day which was a whole lot of fun *thanks*, hope i didn't get too carried away at the end, sorry bout that - my idea of a noisy ending is a 10 minute volume smashing feedback stompfest til the sound man winces.... AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH.

maybe I thought I had the flavor?

you got the flavor-

no, you got the flavor

JSBX..........forever

erm, yeah.

So my thumb is working again now and i can almost easily touch the base of my little finger with it now. though its still tight and a little clicky...ho hum.

but what can you do - -  -

what would you do? would you keep on rolling around a little and playing guitar?? - or give it up? to preserve the pinkies!!

hey folks, i can't stay long as i have to be at rehearsal in like twenty minutes. so to cut a long story short I thought i'd let you know that our record isn't a record anymore. something happened, we got bitten in the crunch and had to bitedownsize the whole affair. so its a beauty of a digipak now and its still called 'slightly delighted'. Maybe the name affected the precedings - we weren't meant to be enthralled...

anyhow. i always move on with anyhow, - anyhow - its still good, i still believe in it and you should too. come down to our launch party tomorrow night at the lexington - for white light. - whitelightfriday.com - and if you usually go for the DJ's - why not come a little earlier? its £5 on the door - come early and perfectly in time for FAVOURS 4 SAILORS and Situationists. Lots of boys with guitars crooning their little hearts out. yes we all have little hearts, cos if we had big ones we wouldn't be doing this - we'd be off giving out love in better ways...

AnD! - you can also download YOUNGUN - pronounced yungan with a soft ;g; like the little ones, you know, the youngun's those young folk? not young guns one or 2. we will not make you famous. digress........yes i do

Released: Monday 18th May 2009

William are soon to follow up last year’s debut album with a six track mini album release on Monday 18th May.

Recorded and mixed in six days at the Sick Rooms with Owen Turner, Slightly Delighted features entirely new songs (tracklisting below). Although the record won't be available in shops until May, when you order Slightly Delighted direct from Tough Love Records, not only will you receive your copy before everyone else, but you’ll also be given a code that allows you to download the songs immediately. That’s two formats for the price of one.

Three of the songs are now available for streaming from our page so check it out if you haven't already.

Slightly Delighted tracklisting:
1. “Youngun”
2. “Headscream”
3. “Tacit”
4. “Midi”
5. “Foreshore”
6. “Memory Net”
£6 + P&P
Order from: http:/www.toughloverecords.bigcartel.com

As always with tough love - this release is packaged beautifully too, with artwork from the obscenely talented Ralph Wilson, whom you may know as the drummer in Tough Love label mates, Situationists.

As a means of celebrating the release of the record, we’ve organized a launch night on Friday 1st May at White Light at The Lexington, near Angel in London.

Support comes from Favours for Sailors and Situationists. With a line up like that, it can’t fail to be anything other than amazing. For more details, check the Facebook event here: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/event.php?eid=150868440060.

William also embark on a tour from May through June, dates of which are listed below:

We haven't done anything in sooooooo long. Well, actually just over a month....but it seems so much longer than that. We're currently on a break before the new record comes out (it's called "Slightly Delighted" by the way) but I'm getting so bored I thought I would write something or even change our myspace page a little. But no doubt Gavin will tell me it looks "Whack" and change it into something better.

Soon you'll be able to pre-order our new record. Its a 6 track mini album/EP called Slightly Delighted which is being released through Tough Love Records in early May. The artwork looks amazing too. It was designed by Ralph Wilson from Situationists and its format will be a 12" record with CD. Woooooop! I really want to put some songs up so everyone can hear them right now but I have to wait for the say so from the label.

We also have some amazing gigs coming up with great bands such as Sky Larkin, Sunset Cinema Club, Calories and Favours for Sailors, all of which we love and are so excited about. I have just posted some of these gigs and festivals on our MySpace page (www.myspace.com/williamtheband) so check it out and come to one of them. Especially our launch on 1st May at White Light with Favours for Sailors. There will be more gigs and festivals to be annonced soon so watch this space.

Anyways, I feel much better now.

Bye bye.
