Hey Peeps,

First up, apologies for the rather large gap since our last update! We thought we'd give you some time to absorb all the news... Also, we don't like to clutter up your inbox too much!

Sooo, it's been a hectic few months over at Ruby HQ, lots of gigging, writing, meetings (breakfast), recording, drinking and making the most of the lovely weather with plenty of Street Gigs.

I guess our biggest bit of news is that in August we are starting work with Grammy award winning producer James Sanger on our first album, which we are confident will be a work of art! We will be flying off to a secret location with the aim to stay as long as it takes to write and produce a GREAT debut album. We will keep you all updated with news/pics/videos etc through our twitter over the next few months.

Other BIG news, we've FINALLY, after 2 years of rattling on about it, bought our VAN! A HUGE thank you to everyone who has bought a CD or T-Shirt over the last few months, as you helped buy it! So if anyone wants a lift anywhere, give Clark a shout, and he'll come and pick you up! (as always, terms and conditions apply!)

The Van, which we have affectionately named MO, will be transporting us across the country over the summer, as we continue to take our "Street Gig Spectacular" to the people, as we visit different sunny towns and cities all over the UK! (again follow us on Twitter for last minute news on these)

We've almost sold out of our Limited Edition ‘Don't Feel So Low' EP, so if you were one of the 1000 lucky people to get your hands on one, you will notice that every CD was numbered, so hold on to them, as we are sure they will become hot "eBay" property!

Anyone that hasn't been able to get hold of the merchandise at our gigs will be pleased to know you can now make your orders at www.rubylux.net/merch.

Mens and Womens T's, as modeled by Adam and Mike!!
The New RUBY-RANGE (this seasons must have!)

You can get your hands on a Rubylux t-shirt by Clicking HERE!!

You can now also PRE ORDER your copy of our next EP "Don't Forget", from here.

As always, keep up to date with what we're up to through our Twitter, Facebook, Youtube or Myspace! And please keep uploading your Photos and Videos to the Web, as we love to see them! That's all for now, see u all soon!

Lots of Love,
Rubylux

p.s. Keep your eyes peeled for another newsletter soon, with an exciting announcement about a special way to get your hands on more music, gig tickets etc...

Hey Everyone,

We have some BRAND SPANKING NEW SONGS up on our Myspace page. "Only You Know" and "Still Holding On" are a glimpse of the stuff we've been working on over the last few months, and we're pretty chuffed with them. Soooo, without further a do, get over to the Myspace Page and have a listen! We will also be adding our latest track "Giving It Up" later next week!

Last weekend saw our first street gig of the year in our lovely (and sunny) hometown of Brighton, we rocked out 2 full sets to a massive bank holiday crowd, bang in the centre of town! We're planning plenty more of these all over the UK over the whole summer. We're also going to be dishing out our 1000 limited edition EP's to all the lovely people who come out to watch us! We'll be announcing the gigs at the last minute, as to not attract any unwanted attention from the police! The best way to hear about the gigs and all other news is to follow us on TWITTER!, also Keep your eyes peeled to the Myspace and Facebook pages.

Our next gig is at the UNDERBELLY in London (Hoxton Square, Shorditch), which is a headline show for us. Its on the 22nd April (next Wednesday!) If you visit the Facebook event page (link below!), and click "Attending", we'll make sure, you automatically get added to the guest list for the night.
UNDERBELLY FACEBOOK GUESTLIST
Its going to be a pretty busy gig, so make sure you get your name on the list soon!

We recently performed an acoustic session for Mike and Ollie's Introducing show on BBC Radio Essex, and a video of us playing a cover of ELO's "Mr Blue Sky" is now up on Youtube. Check it out.

We've got more and more gigs being added to the diary every day, and some BIG summer gigs that we're hoping to announce in the next few days that we're REALLY excited about!  Watch This Space!! (or our
Twitter!)

Hopefully see some of you in London next Wednesday!

Love,
Rubylux

Snow time like the present!

Hello, G'day, Hyvaa paivaa, Konichiwa and Pnawn da!

As everyone in the UK will know, the snow has seen the country grind to a halt!

So... while everyone is at home, with nothing to do, other than think of funny snow puns for their facebook status, we thought we would send you out a newsletter to keep you entertained!

First up, here is a BRAND SPANKING NEW video of "Screaming Surrender", recently performed in a LIVE acoustic session. Hope you enjoy. (feel free to comment on the youtube video and send to all your friends!)

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=FUsXCsKSmfs&fmt=18

Thanks to our friend Sam from bandphoto.co.uk for his help with the video.

In other news...

Our slot at Singfest 2009 has been confirmed so we will be heading out to Singapore this coming August to play at the festival, and other gigs around Asia. This year's line up is still being finalised, but last year saw Jason Mraz, Alicia Keys, Panic at the Disco and One Republic play, so hopefully this year will be even bigger and better.

We're still working on our debut album, and have been spending more and more late evenings in the studio working on new tracks, and re-mixing some of the old ones!  One of our songs "Don't Feel So Low" is just being polished off and mixed by Jeremy Wheatley, who has mixed some great records, by acts such as Razorlight, The Feeling, Stereophonics and (Ad's favourite singer), Leona Lewis!

We're hoping to start performing the new songs at our next couple of shows, and can't wait to get back to street gigging as soon as the weather picks up!  For those of you who've seen us play on the street before, you'll know how it works. We pull up, unload the gear, fire up our trusty generator, and play as many songs as possible, before the police turn up and move us along! We've made many friends, in many different towns and cities over the last year or two, and hope to make this year the biggest yet! If you know a good spot where we can play in your area let us know!

We'd like to rap this up, and let you get back to the snow puns, by reminding anyone who hasn't yet downloaded our FREE 4 track EP, to do so by visiting http://rubylux.co.uk/freeEp.php and entering the Voucher Code: 4H7K3F.

As usual, please help us by forwarding the link (or this newsletter) to as many of your friends as possible! Help spread the RUBY-LOVE!

See you all soon,
Rob, Mike, Ad, Clark

Hello!! It's time for a Rubylux Christmas update...Well, we've been real busy recently with lots of recording, gigging and the odd festive drink! BUT we've still found the time to put together a little Christmas gift for you...Sorry it's not wrapped!

We've made a mailing list, we've checked it twice, and instead offinding out who's been naughty or nice, we're just giving everyone a FREEEEEE download of our 4 track EP, which includes the original recordings of "Screaming Surrender" and "Don't Feel So Low". All you need to do is visit our website and enter the voucher code "4H7K3F"(case sensitive). A link to the tracks will then be sent to your email address. Easy as Christmas pie, or what?!

We've played a couple of special Christmas shows, including the turning on of the Marylebone Lights in London, and also Kent Uni's Snow Ball. Now Christmas is over we're having our first gig of the year at Sussex Uni THIS FRIDAY (16th Jan). It's free entry and incredibly cheap drinks so we hope to see as many of you down there as possible!

In other news, once again, one of our tracks was used on an advert in Hong Kong, this time for one of our favourite TV shows "HEROES". We ALREADY have some gigs booked for next summer out in HongKong, Singapore and Bangkok on some major festivals, which we are really looking forward to.

We've also been working with some great producers and mixers recently as we are now putting together our debut album. We've had the pleasure of working with the guys behind great artists such as The Feeling, Jason Mraz and James Morrison!

We hope that YOU continue to spread the word, and forward on the free EP and voucher code to as many of your friends and family as possible.

Anyway, enjoy the late Christmas present, and hopefully see you at a gig soon, where you can buy us all a drink in return!! ;0)

Much Love, Rob, Mike, Ad and Clark.

Hello!!

So we're finally back from Wales and have some new songs to play you! We are still waiting for some of the mixes to come back but when we get them we will upload them asap! You can, however, come and listen to the new songs LIVE at our next Brighton gig if you really can't wait! ;0)

So, we had a long writing/recording period and made a few big decisions about how to move things forward. We're currently negotiating an EP release along with getting some cool merchandise (finally!) to get the ball rolling. We never made it out to Finland or Australia where they played our songs on adverts (mainly due to a certain record label's incompetence) but we'll be ready next time... it's been a good learning curve!

Things are really picking up pace again so I hope you'll be seeing a lot more of us...

Keep in touch, it's always good to hear from you!

Hey Everyone,

First off, we're playing a special Pre-Recording gig, later on today (about 5pm), on Clapham Common in London. We will be giving a debut performance of some of the new material we've written over the last month. We're really excited about the songs, and cant wait to play them live.

It's gonna be a wicked day, as we're playing alongside some big names such as Lucie Silvas, Nate James and Jamie Scott and the Town, so should promise to be a great show.

Straight after the gig, we will be jetting off (in Clark's Ford Escort) back to the mountains of North Wales, to lock ourselves up until September, to record our new tunes.

Although we've been quiet for the last few weeks, exciting things are happening at camp Rubylux. Including talks with a few labels, future tours and some new exciting and innovative ways of getting our music out, all of which will become clear in the coming weeks.

Since our last newsletter, we've been working pretty hard to try and get our Van, so that we can get back to street gigging across the country for the rest of the summer. We're pretty much there now. So keep your eyes peeled for us, on a street corner near you very soooon!

Thanks to everyone's messages and emails that we've had over the last month. We can't wait for you all to hear the new songs. We've also been thinking, that, although we hate the term 'Street Team', we're gonna look to a few dedicated fans to come and get involved and help us out on some street gigs, by selling our CD's and help spread the Ruby-word! Drop us a myspace or facebook message if your interested, and we'll get back to you in the next week!

In the meantime, get all your friends and family to come down to our next few gigs, which we will be announcing very soon, and if they haven't already, make sure they join the mailing list, and download our free song 'Soldier'!

This has turned into quite a long message! So we'll let you go. Hopefully see quite a few of you later on today at the Clapham Common gig, and for those of you who can't make it, we'll be back in two weeks with the new songs.

Lots of Love,

Rubylux.

p.s. You didn't hear it from us, but, don't be afraid to copy our cd for anyone, or even share the songs online...

Neighbours, everybody needs good Neighbours...

More good news for us this week, as we found out that our song "Screaming Surrender", has been used in an advert for Neighbours, out in Australia. Thank you to all our auzzie "Fans" for your messages 'n stuff!

We are going to try our absolute best to make it out to Australia and to Finland sometime this year, to go and spread the Rubylove, all over the world. Lol, Watch this space...

In other news, we will be launching our BRAND SPANKING NEW myspace page tomorrrow, which is going to look amazing. Its about time we sorted out this tatty looking thing, and by the looks of the new design, it is going to be wicked. We've decided, that we're going to offer a FREE download of one of our songs, directly from the page. So as of TOMORROW, please come and check out the new page, download the FREE song, and send the myspace link to everyone you know, everywhere, in the whole world....

We've done a couple of good gigs over the last few weeks, one or two London shows, and one back home in Brighton. Thanks to the Friday Night Hero guys for having us at their "Brighton's Finest" night, which was a great gig at the Barfly.

After a year of gigging pretty solidly, we've decided we're going to try and slow down on the amount of gigs we're doing, and concentrate on getting some new material written and recorded. This doesn't mean we wont be doing any gigs, but we're just going to make sure the ones we do do (haha do-do) are going to be AMAZING, and packed out, and ensure that they are massive parties!

Thats kind of all for now, but keep the nice messages coming, and add us on facebook!

Keep checking back here over the next few weeks for news about a release...

Check out the video and our new profile picture below!

Speak soon,

Mike, Clark, Ad and Rob.

Yo!

Sorry to everyone who keeps saying "update your blog" its taken a few months, but we've been pretty busy, so sorry!

Over the last month we've played 13 shows, and also got back out on the streets to play some of our trademark street gigs. Anyone who saw us in Brighton, Cornwall or Oxford last year will know what we're on about, and this summer plans to be even bigger... (keep checking the myspace/facebook for updates)

Last week, We managed to bash out an hour long set on the street's on Bristol, about 45 mins in Oxford, and 2 and a half songs in Bath! But we still managed to shift a few hundred CD's before the lovely Police pulled the plug on us (literally in bath)...

If you did buy a CD, a big thank you, as you helped pay for our Hotels and Diesel for our van to keep us going all week long.

After Bath, we traveled up to Liverpool, where we played the Cavern club, which was fun, we were followed by a Beatles tribute act, who were responsible for us all losing our voices, and giving us a mother of a hangover the following morning...

From Liverpool, we made our way over to Manchester, where the confusion between a Travel-lodge, a Travel-inn, a Premier-inn and a Holiday-inn proved too much for Rob and Ad! After a 2 hour drive round Manchester city centre, we finally crammed 6 of us into a tiny hotel room, which was less than comfortable to say the least! We we're hoping to set up in the Centre of Liverpool to do a street gig, what with it being the Capital of Culture 'n all that, but the weather was pretty shit. But we've found a great spot, and we should be back up there in June/July to meet the Police officers of Liverpool.

After Liverpool, we nursed our sore heads with a big breakfast, courtesy of the Hotel, who conveniently forgot to charge us, and a trip to the Beatles shop, where we all left with Beatles T-Shirts, Beatles Mugs, Beatles Wallets, Beatles Key-rings, Beatles Badges, Beatles T-towels, Beatles Bags, a Beatles Kettle and a Hey Jude blow up doll. (You get the idea..., lots of Beatles tat)

Anyway, we are playing the Cobden club in London tomorrow night, and if you are around to come and catch us, please do. We will be joined by our Amazing string Section, who make us sound soooo big!!

Right, time to wrap this up, lots of exiting things happening with us, which will all be revealed sooner or later and a couple of big gigs in the pipeline for the summer...
If you saw us on any of the street gigs, and bought a CD, please send us a message or comment! And if you took any photo's please email them to rubyluxmusic@hotmail.co.uk, so we can include them in this blog!

See you at the Cobden! (seriously, if you can make it, please do, Clark will buy you all drinks!)*
