Current mood:  aroused
Yeah... we’re going to go ahead and break up, too.

Everybody else is breaking up, so we might as well. I really just started this band so I could maneuver my way into the wizard rock circle so I could finally feel some form of contentment, but much like sleeping around at parties, it’s left me feeling even more empty and meaningless, but my body is looking slammin.

So yeah, no more Owl Post. I do think I’ll be starting a new band, though. A TGS rock band, called I Have a Crush on EVERY BOY with inspiration from the homestarrunner.com Teen Girl Squad series.

Ch-ch-check it out.

New song, "Scarhead" is up. It's the second of two collaborations done between myself and Adam Mudblood, the first being Owl Post Strike. We essentially wrote and recorded both of these songs in less than a day. I fully attribute that to Adam's amazing ability to be, well, amazing.

Lyrics, anyone?

Owl Post Strike
(written for the Rock Out Against Voldemedia compilation -- www.stopbigmedia.com/potterwatch)
Birthday parcels
Letters of love
Your bills and postcards
Soaring above
Through rain and shine
And all that mess
We bring your mail
Without a moments rest

Once Voldy took over
The sky's unoccupied
Once Voldy took over
The Owl Post went on strike

Hedwig's disappearance
Was the biggest clue
Then stories started changing
Monotony in the news
Daily Prophet, Quibbler
Recycling false words
But evil conglomerations
Don't care about they're birds

Once Voldy took over
The sky's unoccupied
Once Voldy took over
The Owl Post went on strike

Writers and techies
Those guys know what gives
Just keep on waiting
For The Boy Who Lived!
An aviary union
Holding perch-ins up at corporate
We won't deliver anything
Someone overthrow that git

Once Voldy took over
The sky's unoccupied
Once Voldy took over
The Owl Post went on strike

Scarhead
(theme for "Scarhead" by Scarhead Productions -- www.youtube.com/ScarheadProductions)

Out of touch with reality
Living life in a fantasy
But she would not change anything
Dreams of magic in a magical life
Potter-minded in perpetual spotlight
No one gets it and she doesn't mind

Wearing robes in the middle of the day and
waiting for an owl to come my way but it
it hasn't yet so I guess I'll stay
Scarhead, Scarhead, Scarhead

Daniel Radcliffe poster on my wall and I
I go to Wrockstock every spring and fall and I
I can't wait for the next Yule Ball
Scarhead, Scarhead, Scarhead

Forced my friends to read all seven books
All the cool kids give me dirty looks
Ride my broom around the neighbourhood
Scarhead, Scarhead

Named my two dogs George and Fred
I check the Leaky Cauldron every night before
I just can't get this out of my head

Top 10 Wrock Bands!

First, I want to say this makes me happy beyond all belief. I don't even want to close the window, in case it somehow disappears! :D

Second, yet most important point. It's not even been out a full day, and I'm already hearing the hints that show what the core of the wizard rock scene is really about. This scene touts love and acceptance, but if you really got to know some of these people, you'd see that a lot of them are filled with anger and hate and jealousy.

There are people who don't think we deserve to be listed in the Top 10 Wrock Bands, according to MTV. Were it the Top 10 Wrock Bands, according to wizrocklopedia.com or wizardrock.org or even mugglenet.com, I would fully agree with you. However, this is essentially one person's MAYBE two people's opinions, and if you take a close look, all bands were interviewed at Phoenix Rising, or very highly applauded in the MTV news segment.

Jennifer Vineyard did not do a Top 10 Wrock Songs, she did a Top 10 Wrock BANDS, and she graded based on her interactions with them as well as their music. She sees this as a happy genre, filled with loving people, and I hope to whatever there is that that becomes true before more people figure out it's deep-rooted fallacy.

So, if any of you hear anyone talking smack about this list, give them a hug (e-hug, if you have to) and tell them that whatever is ailing them in life will be okay. They don't need to let their anger out because of a silly Top 10 list that probably not that many people will even understand, if they see it at all.

My mission for wizard rock:
BECOME THE LOVE YOU CLAIM.

Have a lot of HP junk?

Film it, put pictures into a slideshow, whatever you need to do, just respond to this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ykUlWVuFNA

The challenge is initially to ME, but in the world of wizard rock, "My HP crap is your HP crap." Just show me what you've got, and we'll TOTALLY win!

Put a response and let her know I sent you!

Need more motivation? Here's her taunting me about losing!

Amorae: lol
no...i know your not really ready for the challenge are you?
me: haha when's the deadline?
cause we can film tonight, no worries
Amorae: two minutes ago..when my video won
me: HA.
Yeah right.
Amorae: im serious..i could come film it right now...but the proff would just be that i am more awesome
are you sure you are ready for that blow?

Amorae: fine bia..i will be there... to prove once and for all that gryffindors are better than sytherins...

TELL YOUR FRIENDS! WE CAN DEFEAT THIS WITH LOVE AND UNITY!

For a multitude of reasons, including prep for some new music and the performance at Portus, I think it's about time we had some merch! It seems the thing these days to have input from all over for the design, so I thought I'd make it into a contest!

What I'm looking for:
- a t-shirt/bag/underwear/whatever design, featuring "The Owl Post" (obviously) and preferably an owl somewhere, though that isn't by any means required.
- if your design is set for a specific background colour, let me know
- there is somewhat of a theme we have going, featuring this guy or some variation thereof. you don't need to stick to him, though, just giving you an idea

Anyway, no exact deadline, but probably I'll make a decision in the next couple of weeks. If you want to submit something, but can't do it right away, just send me a message and I'll be sure to wait for you :)

OH. And the winner will receive... something cool. A free shirt or whatever. And massive fame, being known as the person who came up with the Owl Post's swag logo :D

I plan on sending this out in a bulletin soon, once bulletins stop hating me, but here it is so I don't forget:

ATTENTION: The Owl Post EP "Nocturnes" is now available for order, and as such, the special pre-order price will change! I may have forgotten to mention that earlier, so I'm giving everyone ONE MORE CHANCE to buy the CD at the regular $5+$2shipping charge. After that, the EP itself is $6, and I'm no longer going to cover the 50 cents paypal has been charging me, which would mean an extra $1.50 (not a lot, but it can add up!) if you don't order by Sunday, July 29th. At some point on Sunday, I'll be changing the buy button, so if you want to be sure to get it for $5, order today or tomorrow.

Again, it's $7 total now, including shipping and I'm covering the paypal charge.
It will go up to $8.50, including everything, because these CDs are selling fast and I didn't think I'd be paying as many paypal charges as I have been (see? even the small amounts add up!), but I'm willing to do it a few more times if you're really nice.

If that's not enough reason to buy now, then note that this will probably be the ONLY Owl Post CD EVER, so if you're holding out for a full-length, you'll be waiting a while. If a full-length does magically exist (ak lolz?) someday, those with the EP will get a discount on the full-length. But don't count on it.

So plz 2 go by r CD on teh intarwebz kthx

Hi! Devin here, asking a BIG favour from all of you who want joy and happiness in the world.

I'd greatly appreciate it if we could get a good amount of signatures on our petition, requesting that Nick (seen in some of our pictures, writer of Will You Be My Pansy? currently featured on Podcast of Awesome) rejoin The Owl Post because we miss him terribly.

http://www.PetitionOnline.com/nkplzplz/petition.html

Mostly, I miss my best friend. I'd really like to have him back, but I want him to know it's not just me that wants him back, because I may not be enough. I'm the root of all of our problems, and I know it, and I want to fix it, but I don't know how yet. So... maybe if you all help? I know he has loads of fangirls out there, because he's freakin hot. So... Sign! That's really all the petition is, not some hidden message asking to ban marshmallows or anything, just requesting that Nick believe he really is wanted in the wizrock scene.

Thanks! :D

Hi everyone! Devin here, letting you know there's a new song up! This one is particularly special to me, because I completely created, recorded, and mixed EVERY PART of this song. In the span of about... 4.5 hours. I have NEVER done all of this before, I feel accomplished!

No, it's not perfect, I'll definitely re-record, and no, it's not finished. This is just a teaser, I suppose.

It's called "A Mother's Touch", and if you couldn't guess by the lyrics, it's about Mrs. Weasley's love for Harry as if he were her own son. The music just felt motherly to me.

Hope you like it!

We re-recorded the vocals for "Changes" so now the notes are actually on key and the timing is actually right. For the most part. This is how music sounds when your vocalist isn't temporarily a frog.

Uh... love it?
