Tuesday June 10th, Harmonix Music Systems and MTV Games team up to bring you Them Terribles on "Rock Band". That's right, "Bullets and Guns" will be available for download tomorrow so all you Terribles fans can play yourself into a carpal tunnel induced coma. Get ready to drum, strum and sing along to Them Terribles. Rock Band has revolutionized the video game world as we know it, and now it's time for Them Terribles to revolutionize the Rock Band world. Will your X Box be able to handle the face melting tenacity and multi-layered harmonies of said track? Only time will tell...

Okay, so maybe it's not exactly revolutionary, but we're pretty excited to try to tackle our own song on "expert" mode, and we thought you might be excited as well. Here's the deal: We want you guys to film yourselves performing "Bullets and Guns" and send it to us via internet. All participants will be handsomely rewarded with Terribles swag. Whoever can send in the most entertaining video clip of themselves playing "Bullets and Guns" on the game wins two free tickets to see us at the West Beach Music Festival in Santa Barbara this coming September. Its as simple as that. You can do it alone or with a group of friends.

WINNER GETS
Tickets to the West Beach Music Festival
Signed CDs
T-Shirts

Contest ends September 11th, so get out there and start Rocking!

In other exciting news; The calander is packed with treats this summer. If it's been a little quiet here in grand central command it's because we've been at it like road workers in an undisclosed location writing new material to reshape the 21 century. We are about to enter the studio to record a few new songs for your patient ears and broken hearts to hear. There will be lullabyes, sing alongs and shout out louds for everyone big and small, young and old. G-rated video posts of the new disgusting place we are calling "home sweet home" will be edited and accompanied on the myspace. Stay tuned...

Dear those of you who have alligned, affiliated or sqauted your "sexy" profile on our Myspace page...

It has been brought to my attention that you all missed our performance last night at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills Ca, USA. I looked out into the crowd with the spot light gleaming off my microphone and did not see a single one of you in attendance. Again, I was on the brink of dedicating one of our many snappy tunes to you but you were no where to be found. After soul searching for the rest of the show it has become apparent to me that many of you have missed out on our parties. In fact I don't know if you have ever even seen us play. It deeply saddens me to inform you of this, but I am regretfully putting our Them Terribles Myspace friendship on possible suspension.

The borders of our myspace page can no longer be a stomping ground for your scandelous photos, provocative blogs, and pornographic links. An amendment to our rock and roll bill of rights have been modified. We do no not accept just any old walk of digital life. I hope you turn your enthusiasm around. Let this be a warning shot over the bow of your destroyer. Thank you for your time. You can now go back to taking sexy photos of yourselves in big sunglasses.

despite a number of attempts to miss our return flight, we just got home from our 24 trip to Puerto Rico. The PR tourist website describes the it as a "modern progressive and civilized vacation spot"- though I find it difficult to recall anything civilized about our trip. I do recall eating a lot of pork though. as soon as we exited the San Juan airport we had our driver take us to this rustic and authentic little shack called Bebo's Barbeque for a proper Puerto Rican meal. Bebo has situated his restaurant in the back of a McDonalds parking lot, and even installed a couple of slot machines so that you can gamble while you wait for your food. unfortunately, the line to order takes forever and Joey ended up gambling away his money before he even ordered. I don't think he ate for the rest of the trip. Matt and I demanded that Bebo himself prepare our dinner, and shortly thereafter a four foot tall leather skinned man delivered heaps of savory flesh melting off the bone and oozing grease, topped off with some fried plantains. game over.

then it was off to the hotel where we discovered that the friendly folks at the Music Television Network gave us 5 suites right on the beach. from my balcony I had a splendid view of some hefty 70 year old retirees and watched as a toddler pulled down his bathing suit and urinated into the jacuzzi. instantly I remembered why I love resort hotels so much: old folks and children: peeing and pooping: all over the place...
after getting kicked off the water slide we set up shop at the outside bar and watched some rather large iguanas battle eachother. each of us picked a different reptile and placed bets as they went at it. I think Derek's won...

next stop: El Conquistador where we sound checked and hit the Casino. this time I lost all of my money, and had to flirt with a cougar until she offered to buy me dinner- the last thing really recall was being on stage and playing "Rockaway Beach" by the Ramones. We play the song in the key of B, but I'm pretty sure I was playing it in E, and Matt was singing somewhere around A . But that's the way a cover of a punk song should be. sloppy. and that's what we were for the duration of our stay. When I finally came to, we were in the van on the way to the airport, and Derek was recalling how he drunk dialed the event coordinator and begged her to take a jacuzzi with him. yes ladies, he's single...

Controle detrás pronto como documentamos el viaje en la cámara de
vídeo y fijaremos los toques de luz.

Tour Blog 1-

For your reading pleasure we have reduced each stop from our California tour into one paragraph or less! This new short synopsis system we developed allows you, the reader, to stay up to date with us Terribles in a timely and efficient matter. Enjoy-

Day 1- the Cobalt, Los Angeles- We've grown quite partial to this legendary Conoga Park venue. It looks like your grandmother's living room, and smells like like your grandfather's diapers. The crowd here kicked ass and it was a good start to the tour. After the show we shot some pool and drank some beers with a motley group of people next door at the London Tower- a brit-pub themed little dive.

Day 2- Mountain High, Wrightwood- The view from the stage was impressive. Thousands of people huddled together- however, judging from the snowboard boots and ski attire, I will venture to guess that these people were there to ski, and not exactly to watch us. Some of them did though, and we had some fun even through the creepy sound guy threatened to cut power in the middle of the set. This was the last time we saw sunshine on the tour, as a large storm was about to move in.

Day 3- The Ponderosa, Apple Valley- Where the hell is Apple Valley?

Day 4- Jensen's, Santa Barbara- Whiskey at Jimboz. Music at Jensen's. Burritos from Freebirds. The guys from Gillmor passed out on the floor of my bedroom. Lovely.

Day 5- Velvet Jones, Santa Barbara- We eat so many crappy meals on the road, it was nice being able to get breakfast at the Cajun Kitchen before having to pack up the equipment we left at Jensen's the night before and move it a half mile down the street to Velvet. This show was great. Obviously.

Day 6- The Elbo Room, San Francisco- I love this City. But not so much when its raining and freezing and Wednesday and we're hungover. The van got two parking tickets, and the sound guy at the Elbo Room tried to make us pay for a cheap mic stand that broke during our set. SF was not kind to Them Terribles this time around. Nor was it kind to Jim and Jake and the kids from Run Doris Run who had to stand out in the rain as they weren't old enough to get inside the venue.

Day 7- The Boardwalk, Sacramento- This place had great sound and a great crowd. We will certainly be back here soon. I don't know why I feel so inclined to write about the food we ate- but the Waffle Barn? Good old fashioned American artery clogging deliciousness.

Day 8- Sidelines, Modesto- Modesto is famous for the Lacey Peterson disappearance and not really for anything else, making Sidelines a bit of a diamond in the rough. Kids in Modesto come out to watch music, and for that we salute them. The rest of you should watch and learn- Modesto kids know how to rock. Seriously, Moving on...

Day 9- Golden State Mall, Bakersfield- Did you know that our bass player Derek is Bakersfield native? Did you know that 20 people crashed at his house the night before this show and raided his kitchen and panty drawer? Did you know that Derek wears womens underwear? Now you do.

Day 10- Bustin Down the Door FIlm Premier After Party, Santa Barbara- Our song Dreamers was featured in this soon to be released in theaters Surf Doc, and the filmmaker Shaun Thompson asked us to play at the after party. Girls. Pretty ones. Everywhere. Get Some.

Day 11- Key Club, Los Angeles- Technically not Day 11, but we were back on the bill w/ our pals in After Midnight Project, Gillmor, Vogue, and Run Doris Run. ABout 1200 people turned up at this one, making it one of the best shows of the tour.

There is your tour recap... we'd like to extend our gratitude to all the bands and fans and friends that made it memorable. Tomorrow, we head out to Arizona and then next week to Puerto Rico. Check back for updates, and brace yourselves gamers as our song "Bullets and Guns" will soon be available for download on Rockband.

Our New Years Eve really actually was better than yours. You may or may not believe that, but trust us, it was. For those of you who came out to see us in San Francisco and celebrated with us after the show, you know what I'm talking about. For those who didn't, there's always next year. But thats the past... and this blog regards the future... and while all of you Them Terribles fans made 2007 an incredible year for us, we're planning on '08 being even better. So lets get down to business:

Next week we start our California tour. This 10 day journey will bring us from Los Angeles to Sacramento and all the lovely places in between. So mark your calendar and start thinking about what you're going to wear...

We're coming back to Santa Barbara on January 27th for the premier of Shaun Thompson's new surf film "Bustin' Down the Door" . This is exciting as our song "Dreamers" is the the final song of the film, and Santa Barbara Film Festival events are always a good time. Go to www.bustindownthedoor.com and click on "trailer", to watch the movie trailer which also features the song. It will not disappoint. Perhaps in '08 Them Terribles will learn how to surf... but probably not. It's too hard to light a cigarette when your sitting in the ocean. We will however be at the film premier, and tickets are still available if any of you care to come hang out with us.

Then in February we are heading out to Arizona. We just posted two dates in Tuscon, but expect more dates to pop up as we are planning visiting our neighboring states throughout spring.

We are also working hard on new material so that we can deliver side II of "Rock, Paper, Terribles" to you all as soon as possible. Think "Rock, Paper, Terribles" side I, but a little meaner, a little sexier. Something to that effect...

New Merch! We just received our new T-shirts. Sure, they're made using only the finest quality cotton (American Apparel), and they look kinda cool, but the fact of the matter is that these shirts would look a hell of a lot better on you sexy motherfuckers. So come pick one up at a show, our check back soon as we will be launching our online merch store.

There's your forecast for spring '08. We look forward to sleeping with you, I mean SEEING you. ;)

p.s.- to the guys who jumped me last night: Who the hell pulls hair? I'd really appreciate it if you would return the clumps of hair you stole from my head.

Category: Dreams and the Supernatural
Last Wednesday night, in a sleepy little town not far from yours, three terrible boys set out on foot to indulge in the spooky and the bizarre, to engage in those hedonistic rituals that are deemed acceptable only one day a year. It was All Hollows Eve and the freaks were out in full force. Marching one by one over dead leaves and the dirty ground the boys advanced toward a goulish looking edifice. The little dead were out in droves, hovering around the building's glowing walls, shouting and laughing over the sound of a distorted juke box. Captivated by what they saw the boys decided to join in the festivities. In making his way to the bar, Matt (who was dressed as a pumpkin) had to dodge a witch who had invited him to stir her cauldron. He politely declined, but being the gentleman that he is he bought her a drink anyway. Joey, still new to the bar scene and wearing his sailors outfit, held a lengthy discussion about the power of myth with a man in leather chaps. After his third arm wrestling match with this rather large fellow, he sobered up and jumped back into his usual routine of lady killing. Jonny's skeleton face paint had began to run and he was still dead set on going to a pumpkin patch to do a little carving. He convinced Matt to join him and the two rounded up a couple of scantily clad nurses to assist them.
Matt had to ditch his costume after he snagged it on the fence on his way into the pumpkin patch. So when the cops finally showed up to chase out the trespassers he was forced to flee in his underpants. Jonny, who was in no state to be running, hid in a bail of hay with one of the nurses until sunrise. The boys finally reunited the next morning back at Terribles headquarters, where they spent the better part of the day sharing their stories of what happened after their run in with the law. So if you see one of "them", just ask and I'm sure they will be glad to disclose the details that were too inappropriate to share on myspace...

Terribles,
If you've ever been to lower State street in Santa Barbara, than you know that its an endless red brick road of of dive bars, restaurants, and swanky night clubs, suitable for both myspace lurkers and grandparents pursuing the ultimate in apparel which of course is the "Big Dog" outlet at the bottom of the street. There's no shortage of pretty girls, nor is there a shortage jock jams in their extra small T shirts emitting unsafe levels of Axe body spray. Its a good place to go if you want to dance, or if you want to fight... no dance fighting please. Matt drained his credit card on tight pants at the levis shop, Jonny spent the last of his savings on a woman's jacket and Joey spent every line he could think of with a waitress at one of our favorite bars. Fast forward a few hours later to 10pm where we saw our new friends "We Are the Fury", tear through a New York Dolls inspired set at the Velvet Jones. Think Hot Hot Heat meets AC/DC in the back of Davey Havok's Hearse. All in all, it was another lovely evening in Santa Barbara. Please Join us. We've already turned down your bed for the night.
Jonny, Terribles

post script- thanks for making us the daily leader of votes on MTV2.com the other day! Keep up the voting you will be handsomely rewarded...
