Oct 2009 update: Now complete, and some video online!
We have assembled a line-up of Christian speakers and expert guests to assemble this July 4-5th 2009 and it's TOTALLY FREE to attend! Day 1 is currently scheduled for speaking : 5 lectures by Joe Jordan, Guy Malone (moi), Paradox Brown (the Mrs ;), Pastor Chris Ward D Min, and (our headliner I suppose) Gary Bates all the way from Australia. www.creationontheweb.comDay 2 is a Symposium, where all of the above, plus William Alnor PhD, Mike Bennett PhD (also speaking Day 2), Michael Heiser PhD, and Lyn Marzuli D Min will will join us for an elongated series of planned questions relating to Biblical theology and the presence of (alleged) aliens.
We plan to film, and DVDs may be pre-ordered for those who can't come, but who want to get the teaching.
And while it's free to attend, for those who believe for sure they are coming and don't want to risk a beyond capacity crowd (Hey, it could happen... it IS free!), reserved seating up front is available for those who wish it, simply by pre-ordering the DVDs. Our essential goal with this particular event is to produce something simple yet relevant that you will feel comfortable giving to your pastor, church staff, etc, without some of the more debatable or controversial topics being featured prominently that we've raised in the past (such as Genesis 6, The Rapture, Book of Enoch, etc). It's kinda sad to say, but in a way we're "dumbing this down" on purpose - for the high goal of getting across a specific message to the church as whole; We're going to present the evidence and make the case that the very real "alien" presence is indeed spiritual in nature rather than extra-terrestrial, and that their actions and messages are opposed to Biblical Christianity and to the God of the Bible, and to the gospel of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Tall order perhaps, but we're assembling the best, and again, we wish primarily to equip the church with this one, and give you something that will be palatable and convincing on these themes for "normal" (ha ha) pastors who may have never considered any of this.
(A brief note on the DVD pre-order request : Because we are making this event free to attend without a registration fee so a larger number of Roswellian Christians and UFO Festival TOURISTS will be likely to attend, ALL of the speakers and symposium attendees have agreed to come at THEIR OWN expense to teach this material and answer the questions raised, for the sake of the church. Moneys raised from pre-orders is intended to hopefully reimburse them for their travel and hotel expenses, so we're pre-selling them to raise support for their expenses.)
But supporting the effort or not financially, if you're in the neighborhood this July you have an open invitation to attend! And to pose your tough questions on this topic to the most expert panel since..... well - never!
