Having been berated by a certain other London based shoegazing band for not mentioning anything about my new daughter I would like to formally introduce you to Emmeline Honeysuckle Reid. She's 5 1/2 weeks old, has learnt to smile already and thankfully looks like her mum instead of her dad. Her hobbies include eating, sleeping, farting and vomiting, and she likes jazz, Jeff Buckley and shiny things. Here she is playing up for the camera :)

The most recent Transmission from T.S.R. has found its way onto the page... I've been playing it a lot at the solo shows as it works well with just one guitar, what's been put up the vocal-less demo version complete with bass, drums and keyboards... It probably doesn't even need the vocal to be honest... Rest people, T.S.R. is still a going concern in my mind, I just don't have much time to give to it at the moment.... Hope you enjoy it anyway. Random Pic: Take me home because I've lost my way, and it won't be long 'til I'm in your arms again.

Hello there, Well, from the hundreds of CDs I sent out as press, some more reviews have come back and they're good (again, no bribing took place): Bearded Magazine had this to say: "n these days of drag, there are few better bands to soundtrack the winter months." Read the whole thing for a brilliant mental image involving the singer from Echo and the Bunnymen.... :) Also, the lvoely Ollie Cornish over at Balcony TV had this to say: "The second release from Time.Space.Repeat, 'Lost Transmissions', is one of the most elaborate, challenging and downright soul engulfing records that has been released in a long time." And that's just the opening paragraph. You might have to hunt around a bit after following the link but it's in London and Reviews. It's ace and really makes all this stuff worthwhile. Currently sales are going strong with a whopping number in double figures somewhere... err... I'll check with Samu what the actual number is, but it should result in a bit of cash going to Shelter. Probably would have been more cost effective to give this away for free and donate a load instead, but people asked for a physical release and... well, it's not Christmas without breaking the bank somehow eh? Random image of the day:

Hello you lovely, lovely people, Well, the verdicts are in and they range from the 'I hated it, especially the production' to the 'I liked it, but it's really depressing and I don't like the production'.
This is what happens when you spend a lot on a pretty cover, it raises people's expectations of a zero budget recording. Also, it doesn't help that my hearing's utterly, utterly fucked so it doesn't sound that lo-fi to me...
Aaaaanyway, let's start with one of the oddest, but most pleasing, reviews to come in thanks to Subba-Cultcha:
"Play at 200-500rpm or 150 kb/s for about 54:05 or until you're golden. *ding* Dissent is a disc is best served loud. It sounds like a quite a tasty platter to me."
Next up, the two most on the money of the collection. I can tell these guys actually listened to it, and got it, and that pleases me. Audioscribbler
"for those who listen through, and see the craft in the lyrics, the sheer ambience of the noise surrounding and the overall light tinted power of the songs; this may be something very special for you indeed."
New Noise also liked it...
"the dawning of a new age in post-apocalyptic, shoegaze-tinged post-rock"
And of course I couldn't possibly forget one of my favourite 'zines who've been fantastic throughout, Organ
"one of London's best kept secrets for a couple of years now with their mellow space rock expanse and their sense of dramatic quiet"
Now then... just to prove that I'm not bribing people into being nice, the lovely fellow at Losing Today really DIDN'T like it, having loved Early Transmissions... thus:
"the same post-rock song structures that Mogwai was serving up over a decade ago and that don't inspire much in 2008, especially with lo-fi production and overly serious, but hard-to-decipher vocals"
Ouch... Still, this is saved by the lovely Rock Midgets who said:
"it's hard to deny the simplistic beauty of the mellow vocals and classical guitar of 'I.S.O.P.O.D.' or the uplifting layers that lead 'No Laces' to its gorgeous crescendo finale"
Yes, I have picked out some of the choice quotes, in the same way that really bad films always quote Paul Ross from the News of the World on the posters... but follow the links down the rabbit hole to read the full review, and then think that five pounds really isn't much, and it might make a good stocking filler for the irritatingly chirpy person in your life who needs a bit of bleakness. Alternatively, you could just think "fuck that, I'm not paying £5 for that!" and donate to Shelter via the medium of a Marks and Spencers sandwich instead. I'll understand - they are very tasty. Happy end of November peeps!

My word... that was a bit special... I can't talk this morning, my voice has dropped about an octave and I sound like a miffed whale... Among the many things I noticed last night was how many fantastic bands and people I know thanks to all of this, especially, but not exclusively the following: Fran, my wife who put up with me getting in at all hours of the morning Untitled 1961 Songs From The Shows Falling Out Of Cars Amy Blue The Mekano Set Eat Lights; Become Lights Heat From A Deadstar False Flags The Bridport Dagger Ollie Morr (the best fan a band could have) Bloodflower Bill Sean Organ Dino Scavo, lyrical muse and fellow doom monger And the man who's made all of this stuff happen DZ Greene (and his lovely missus Aylin) All of these people have been ace, and I'm sure there are loads I've forgotten to mention, but they're all special to me in some way or other. Second, and most importantly from last night - Ania is a fucking AMAZING drummer. Now she's in Songs From The Shows and rehearsing regularly instead of the slack T.S.R. attitude she's been subjected to before, her drumming has got better and better. Watching SFTS last night I felt oddly proud, as if I'd had something to do with it, even though the credit is all hers. I'm proud of all the Time. Space. cadets I've worked with since starting this thing, from Ning and Aunty Flo in Brighton, to Rob, Ken and Al, the multitude of bassists that have come and gone. Then there's the violinists, Jay and Sophie who were both ace, and really added another level of excellence... and finally the stalwarts of T.S.R.'s live existence, Sache an Ania - both brilliant, both focussed and clear minded, both so picky with such an eye for detail that I never want to go into a studio with them ever again (I like mistakes, no-one else does). So, this isn't the end, there's still the album, reviews of which I'll gather together in time and post up here with links, and I'll still record... who knows, if I've got the time once bubs is born I might even play again, but we'll see on that front. In the meantime, I'll keep writing here and post up new songs every now and then - now get out there, buy the album from www.samu.co.uk and raise a bit of cash for Shelter. Thus far we've sold five, but we can do better than that I'm sure. You are my Sunshine. Doom x

Wooooooo! DZ's just dropped off a batch of CDs for sending to the press and they look fabulous. Not only that, I've finally seen the video for Disaster Song, which is seriously chilled out... a work colleague has suggested dropping acid to watch it, but I'd never condone such things of course... I'm actually quite excited about this now... :) I've also been talking to Shelter about getting the sponsorship sorted which makes it all somehow more real... As long as we can shift 50 copies we'll get a bit of cash for them, but hopefully all you lovely people out there will help use raise a shedload more - either because you like the music or the charity... or both... Just in case I haven't told you yet, it's also available to listen to on last.fm (click on the picture below) for those that want a preview... There's quite a variety of sounds on there so try a few tracks to get a good idea of what it sounds like. Enjoy!

Well now this is exciting, in a nicely timed coup for the release of Lost Transmissions next month, Radio Caroline TV have started showing End of the World along with the following delightful wording: "Time. Space. Repeat have come up with the most consistent and beautiful set of songs that we've heard from an unsigned band in a very long time. We're tempted to say that they've started the new-wave of shoegaze without even realising it. But that would be to underestimate the sheer scope of their music. This is Sigur Ros territory but with a London landscape, and without the budget. And anyway they're too cool to be part of any scene. After all, what sort of people would offer up an album worth of tracks of such quality for free if they didn't just love what they're doing. And you should too. Our new favourite band."I'm blushing now! But it doesn't stop there... Mark, from Losing Today has written the following: "Time, Space, Repeat 'end of the world' (god is in the TV download). Of course we mentioned these shade wearing dudes ages ago when we were all so much more younger, London's premier sonic explorers of all things shimmering and shoe gaze have their new single released as a freebie via a singles club download series being set up by God is in the TV. The five piece will also be playing their last gig in London for some time before - by the looks of things - they up sticks and head off to Southampton. The gig pencilled for the 12th November will see them supporting Heat from a Dead star (who we're assuming will be showcasing their debut full length - details of which for the minute have escaped me) and Eat Lights Become Lights (surely you recall their debut seven for Enraptured). Its also mooted - if of course we've got this right - that there will be a new TSR album available for purchase on the night entitled (we think - blimey we're crap at this small detail lark) 'the afterglow of creation'. for now though fall headlong into the transcendental fuzzy head soup that is 'end of the world' - a crushing though majestic feedback laden bliss bathed slice of vapour trailed white noise, a kind of emotionally crippled and ragingly disturbed Kitchens of Distinction with feet firmly flat on the pedals and impishly messing up your fringe. Easily filed alongside that current Air Formation nugget currently doing the rounds via Distant Noise."So there you go - get yourself to Barden's on the 12th for the last gig, and pick up the album there, or via Samu from the 12th onwards. It'll be ace, and you'll be doing some good for Shelter as well. Which reminds me, I really should tell them about this shouldn't I? Pushing this much? :D

ANTIFA PROTEST LEEDS!! oppose the BPP's racist demonstration
OPPOSE THE RACIST DEMONSTRATION AGAINST BLACK RAP MUSIC BY THE NAZI 'BRITISH PEOPLES PARTY' SATURDAY 18th OCTOBER, 11.00am, HMV, LANDS LANE, LEEDS CITY CENTRE
One of the vilest neo-Nazi groups in the country is planning to hold a demonstration in Leeds. The so-called 'British Peoples Party' (formerly the 'White Nationalist Party'), whose leaders believe that all non-white people (along with Jews, Gypsies, Gays, and the Disabled) should be exterminated, plan to hold a demonstration against black Rap music outside HMV in Leeds city centre on Saturday October 18th.
The BPP are supporters of Adolf Hitler and have strong links to both terrorism and paedophilia. Their Goole and East Yorkshire organiser Martyn Gilleard was recently given 16 years for possession of nail bombs and plans to blow up local mosques. On his computer he also had 40,000 images of children and babies being sexually abused, tortured, and raped. The BPP are very sick people.
The BPP are led by Leeds Nazi Kevin Watmough, who runs 'Redwatch', a site where fascists post details of their 'racial enemies' and instigate attacks on them. While pretending to be ill, Watmough makes a shabby living selling swastikas and other Nazi paraphernalia to his fellow fascists.
The organiser of the BPP demo is Watmough's girlfriend, Kate Dermody (or McDermody), a hardline Nazi who moved to Leeds from the Midlands, and has been trying to stir up racial conflict in the city ever since. Like Watmough, Dermody is a supporter of Adolf Hitler, and says she believes in "Racial Holy War." She runs her own blog, on which she openly jokes about the Holocaust, calls the Muslim prophet Muhammad "a paedophile", and talks about black people in the vilest possible terms. In the 1970's and 80's the Nazis had a strong presence in Leeds. On Saturdays when they sold their racist newspapers in the city centre, black and Asian people, and anyone who looked or dressed differently to them, would be jostled and spat at, even assaulted. Eventually these scum were driven off the streets by antifascists, and Leeds is a much better place without their presence.
Now Dermody and Watmough, and the filth of the BPP are hoping to re-establish themselves on the streets of Leeds. This demo against black Rap music is just an excuse to publicly parade their disgusting racist politics once again. They must be stopped at all costs. The Nazis in Leeds no longer have the strength of numbers to mount a racist demonstration in the city centre, so they are planning to bus in other Nazis from all over the country. In particular they plan to bring in paramilitary thugs from the so-called "Racial Volunteer Force" and the "Aryan Strike Force". Like the BPP these are hardline Nazis, who believe in violent racial conflict. They have links to terrorism and to European Nazi groups. Anyone who cares about the racial harmony of Leeds, anyone who is from an ethnic background, anyone who opposes fascism and all it stands for, should oppose this Nazi demonstration.
Let's show Dermody and Watmough, the so-called "British Peoples Party", and the Nazis they are bringing to our city, that Leeds will not tolerate them and their racist lies.
We are calling for an anti-racist mobilisation to oppose the fascist BPP on Saturday 18thOctober. Be in town that day and be prepared to oppose them. The BPP have said they will be holding their demo at HMV on Lands Lane in Leeds city centre at 11.00am, but they may try to hold it earlier, or even move to another location.
Anyone up for a day trip to Leeds????????? There's links on the antifa website for the pdf's for leaflets and posters- get printing! Abuse your college printing credits, works photocopier...whatever! Don't let the nazi scum get away with this.

Well, all the artwork is finalised... if I get myself in gear I might even post some of it up next time... As the popularity of T.S.R. wanes into a mere glimmer of what it once was, it seems the perfect time to say that the gig on the 12th of November will be the last gig AND the launch night for the album. Once again, all profits from this thing will go to charity - at the moment I'm trying to clear my head enough to sort out working with Shelter on this. In theory, if enough people buy the album we can raise a fair bit for them... that said, this one's not going to be free, so I can't see it managing anywhere enar the numbers that the first album, and more importantly, the last single did.
So what else? Well, some of my friends, co-workers and T.S.R. members are being shipped off to Southampton by the company we work for. It's not for a while yet, but even so, it's going to make things a lot more boring round here... I think that very firmly puts the dampers on anymore stuff with T.S.R. as a whole band, but never say never eh?
So, quick vote (which means I want answers):
How many strings should I use for this last gig - 12, 6 or 4?
The choice is yours....
