A few weeks ago myself and Nick's good friend Kevin McGee made the decision to end his own life. As a tribute to Kevin we spent a lot of time arranging a power metal cover of the song "Listen to your Heart" originally by Roxette. Within a couple of weeks the song had been arranged, recorded, mixed, mastered and the artwork finalised.

The single is available for free download through the link at the bottom but if you can find it in your hearts to donate some money to the charity PAPYRUS - for the prevention of young suicide, it would be much appreciated.

If you would like a hardcopy of the single you can send £2.50 to doc_metallica@msn.com via paypal(postage included) with the note "1 x Listen to your Heart single" as well as your name and address and it will be shipped out to you ASAP. The single also features the song "Time for War" and all proceeds will go to the Papyrus charity.

OK so!

The link for the Free Download of the recently released Durin's Bane single has been down for a while

But now, its fixed!! (AGAIN! ) thanks to Veronika for pointing that out to us :P hehe! :O So those of you who havent been able to get your hands on a free hard copy at festivals and gigs, here you can download the 2 songs that appear on the single

Hi everyone!

Hail Power Metal Heroes!!

Just a few updates, Metalfest UK is less than 4 weeks away, and we're all extremely excited about it! we've got a couple of new songs lined up, including a cover of Gamma Ray's Dethrone Tyranny! which i know a lot of you are excited about

And also of course we have 3 support dates with Norwegian Power Metal band Gaia Epicus coming up in the UK to!! dates on myspace

Got a couple random shows here and there to! including 2 dates with Alba Gu Brath and Farseer on their Scottish Mini Tour.

It is with great excitement and pleasure that I can also announce that Ascension have Preliminarily booked approximately 3 weeks at one of Sweden's most respected and internationally recognised Recording Studios, to record our Debut Album!!!!

We will be working closely with one of the the Metal industry's top producers! Although this is far in the future, and won't be happening til around August time 2010.

This means we'll be spending the next year, writing more intensely melodic power metal songs, and fine tuning them to perfection for the album launch, which will be highly promoted, and will contain our greatest work to date!!

I can't reveal all yet until we have an official start date for recording, but let me assure you, this is practically Set In Stone! and we look forward to bringing you at least another EP, or demo within the next year showcasing a couple more new songs!

Aside that, we'll be touring the UK to fuck, and random gigging everywhere and anywhere! So if you want Ascension in your town, get onto your local venue or promoter, and we'll do everything we can to make sure we can make it possible.
