After 5 years hard work star27 have decided to take a break from the commitments of gigging and recording as a band in order to spend some time pursuing other projects and personal goals. This is not a split per se, but we have no plans to gig or record in the near future.

The recently recorded singles 'stretchy' and 'get a grip' will still be released for international download, with 'stretchy' available now, and 'get a grip' out in September. Also, all sites will remain active to keep you updated as to what band members are up to both individually and in future collaborations.

Thanks to everyone for their support at all times, and please keep in touch.

for many months now star27 have been sealed in a top secret underground bunker (cold, damp, practice room) fine tuning their sonic magic (playing the songs over and over and over and over and over) and giving birth to their next generation of poetic offerings (writing some new songs and playing them over and over and over)

y’know, like bands do

but now we’re taking a few cautious steps out into the sunshine, rubbing our eyes and seeing what adventures we can find

there’s been time spent in a studio and heads are currently being scratched over a hot mixing desk so expect to hear some new tracks up here soon enough, but just as importantly phone calls are being made, emails exchanged, deals struck and gigs booked. already announced dates in Preston and Sheffield with more to come in the following days and weeks. so keep your eyes on the sites and if you want us to come in play for, with or near you give us a shout.

should be a fun summer

so there's no gigs and no news on this myspace thing, but that doesn't mean there's nothing going on. we've played our last gig of what has been an amazing (truly amazing) year, starting in lamacqs top ten demos of the year last christmas and flying through maida vale, the ep release, mtv, london. leeds, sheffield, newcastle, dundee, nottingham, darlington, warrington, manchester, newton-le-willows, kirkby stephen and of course preston and now our thoughts are on 2008.

we're not slacking though don't worry, we're locked in the practice room working hard on new material and it's so far it's sounding great

on a personal level i'm really excited about the new stuff and what experiences next year is going to throw at us as a band, in 2006 and 2007 so much has already happened that i could never have expected to be lucky enough to experience, let's see what's next :)

we are sorry to announce that as of this weekend phil has decided to leave star27. his reasons for moving on are personal and he has wished the band all the best of luck in the future, a sentiment returned to him by star27, especially as he makes his new home in yorkshire, we hope he is succesful and happy in all he does

at present the band are exploring options but intend to carry on for the immediate future as a 5 piece so all gigs that remain listed will be unaffected

a great weekend for star27, starting with a top gig at the dry bar in manchester on thursday where a select crowd got to see a very sweaty performance before we took the van 5 hours north over the forth bridge to dundee, a great night, great bands and an excellent venue, we always love scotland and hope to be back soon, a thanks to Roz in edinburgh for giving us a room for the night so we could get up and enjoy a proper scottish breakfast in that fine fine city

then.. newcastle! an gig scehduled to be an out door all dayer at the home of our favourite newcastle promoter Unadulterated, a text on the way down explained the the weather had become a factor and we'd had to go to 'plan b'... so at 6pm on a saturday afternoon we were playing live in the promoters bedroom, in a terrace house in byker.. and it was brilliant! the crowd were well up for it, everything sounded great, we met some great people and we had a ball!

thanks to everyone who was at all the gigs, we can't wait to see you all again.
