Participated in a peace march yesterday. Our friend, Mark, is an organizer. All of the musicians he had lined up to perform at the pre-march rally cancelled. So, the night before the rally, I agreed to help Mark out. Mark and I sometimes play music together at parties. At the rally, we harmonized on Down By the Riverside. An alternative education/musician lady played the piano along with us. Then, she asked me to harmonize with her on another simple song (River of Peach, I think it was). A former mayor, whose son is in Iraq, came and spoke. Also, there was a mother whose son was killed there. Some kids came up and spoke. It was really moving. I'd say about 80-100 people were in attendance. During the march, reaction on the street was much more positive than I expected. We got lots of honks with waves, up-thumbs, and peace signs.
