Current mood:  thankful

Check out this awesome poem that AnnaR just wrote for me! Wow! I don't even know what to say . . . This is amazing!!!

For Kristin:

She looks at the camera
with a combination of
vulnerability and control.
How does she do that?

How can she show
such conflicting emotions
as complete entity?

She is one of the brightest
most beautiful girls I know,
filld with so much life.

She brings joy
 to all who know her
to all who read her writings.

She is so confident
in her femininity
that she encourages all of us
to be better tahn we were.

She is a role model-
a big sister
a loving friend
one who I admire and love.

Our world is way better
with Kristin in it.
She makes me laugh and cry
and love and hope-

all with her magical writing.

I loveee Kristin,
anna

I just received the most amazing gift in the mail! The lovely Anna R, who just turned 16, read THE BLONDE THEORY, my second novel, and decided to create something called The Blonde Lunch Club for "like-minded girls -- intelligent, witty, accomplished, misunderstood and creative," based loosely on the novel! I'm blown away . . . Her club now has members from 11 states and one foreign country, all of whom get special pendants Anna picked out! I just got mine today; it's a beautiful Celtic design featuring the "tree of life," which symbolizes spiritual energy and wisdom. How cool! I'm so excited to wear it, and I'm thrilled to officially be a member of The Blonde Lunch Club. Anna is wonderfully creative and a great writer herself. I'm glad to know her, and I'm very honored that she based her club on my novel! Thanks Anna!!!

Do gentlemen really prefer blondes?

Not according to Harper Roberts, the heroine of Kristin Harmel's THE BLONDE THEORY.

THE BLONDE THEORY is the second novel from Harmel, whose debut novel Cosmopolitan magazine calls, "hilarious." THE BLONDE THEORY is the story of 35-year attorney Harper Roberts, who is smart, attractive and funny. So why can't she find a date? Men flock to her because they assume she's a dumb blonde. But as soon as they realize she's a Harvard-educated attorney, the flee! Harper's best friend is a magazine editor who suggests Harper go on assignment as a "dumb blonde" to see if it changes her dating perspective. So Harper goes undercover for two weeks. She changes her wardrobe, her conversation, her body language. The result is a series of comical encounters. Soon, Harper must take a good look in the mirror and realize that it's not just men who are doing the judging . . . A charmingly comical yet poignant tale of a successful corporate attorney who poses as a "dumb blonde" to try to improve her love life.
