I just had the pleasure of watching "The Incomplete Romantic" which just came by in the mail today and I'm absolutely thrilled with the results. Chris Schwartz did a phenomenal job with this short horror film and I'm hoping that he will have it up online somewhere for everyone to check out at some point soon. I'm proud to have been a part of this project and hope to be a part of more of his work soon. Thank you so much for the opportunity Chris. :) If you like, you can tell the fans what it is about in the comments.

Today only (11/17)

Buy Lackluster and get one other album for free.

Here's how: Buy your copy of Lackluster for free off of the payloadz buy now button off the page and then send an e-mail to daenoctem@gmail.com with a note saying which album you want for free.

You have a choice between:

De Profundis
Demos & B-Sides
Prelude

This is open to everyone. Even if you have already participated.

I'm just feeling generous today I guess.

And for today only the price of Lackluster is now $8.00.

So... buy now... don't delay....  or something :)

Current mood:sick but jovial
It's been fucking century and then some since I updated some of my blogs out there so I'm doing a major cross post from Vampire Freaks to all the MySpaces to LJ and then Fuckbook since everyone out there MIGHT want to hear about what this idiot has been up to lately. If not, then go back to your regular activities of eyeballing tooth picks while waiting to masturbate to Wapner...

Halloween this year was a blast. For once I was really excited about this holiday and it turned out to be worth it. I think when I was married that was when it was worst because the guy I was with never wanted to go out anywhere so we were always stuck at home like poor saps watching poorly edited movies on TNT and I was hoping to hell he would pass out so that I could go work on music or something. This year wasn't like that at all. This year we (boyfriend and co) went out to Witch's Woods and had a hell of a time for our selves. We even got to have some fried dough. My feet were killing me by the end of the night but it was a great time and next year we're planning to do the same thing only we're adding Spooky World into the mix. No more bars and all of that bullshit. No offense to Ne Ne who tried to put on a great party at Lotus this year but the bar scene is just... lame now. I don't think there's anything more inappropriate than listening to drunken assholes screech through a country song on Halloween. Oh... and, of course, some fucktard had to sing the "Monster Mash" and sound like he was absolutely retarded. Beatings....

My costumes were the following in the order of the events:

1. Beth's (classmate) party: Vampire branded by an ankh. This was probably the most effective costume. It almost got an ambulance called at the gas station.

2. Witch's Woods: Gun shot victim. I had taken two slugs. One to the forehead and one in the upper right clavicular region.

3. Lotus party: Witch. Not really that much effort but the had was gorgeous.

At the present time I'm sick as a dog. I have a double ear infection and my sinuses are all sorts of screwed up. I went to the doctor and I've been put on 10 days of antibiotics and this will hopefully clear it up. I'm tired of being sick but what can I do? It's winter and I have CVID so this doesn't exactly help me. I'm strongly considering the possibility of relocating in the next several years to a warmer climate. Not hot but warmer. I don't care for the sun so I was thinking the pacific northwest would be nice but I have to wait and see how things go before I go and make a decision like that but that's definitely on the top of the list.

I was thinking this would be a much longer update but I haven't really got the time. I need to go and finish up some training program for medical office bullshit and then I would like to try and relax for a bit before bed so I guess I will stop for now. I hope everyone is well.

For those of you that are reading this are coming from the EN channels, I haven't abandoned the music. I'm still working on my education so I'm taking a sabbatical from music and I hope to be back mid-summer or so. I don't really get the sense that I'm missed or that anyone really cares one way or the other so I'm not going to rush haha. :)

Bye for now.

Just a short PSA for people who are new to the whole way I do things around here.

1. If your event isn't within 1 hour's driving distance from me I am not going to attend. Please don't bother me with an invite.

2. Don't include me in a mass mailing. I'm not interested.

3. If you want me to check out your music I will but ONLY if you inbox me personally. I can't be bothered with clicking through every single friend request. If it's that important to you, write me and I'll be more than happy to listen. Really, I mean that.

4. I have no plans to release anything else currently. This isn't to say I won't be releasing anything in the future but right now I'm letting "Lackluster" fester for a little while.

5. I miss getting substantial inbox messages. For some reason people don't send messages anymore. *tear*

6. Yes, I am still alive.

7. I know you've sent me several requests about working with me and I know I haven't answered you. I've been a little busy over here but I will get to it when I can. If you're still interested at that point then we can talk. Rule: I hate deadlines.

8. That's it. I just hate ending on an odd number. Even if it's the number 7 it's still bad luck.

May the force be with you.

PS to the PSA: Yes, the rumors are correct. My hair is now red. http://anti-angel.vox.com for proof.

Tonight and tomorrow only I'm running a special where if you buy the digital copy of "Lackluster" for 10 US dollars you can have ALL of my other albums (download versions) for FREE.

Yes, I'm serious. All you have to do is buy the download for "Lackluster" and you will get EVERY album I've done for nothing. You'll get an e-mail link download sent to you for each album.

Why am I doing this? Simply because I love you guys.

Thanks in advance for your support as this is going towards helping with the cost to keep Era Nocturna moving forward. Since I have no label all of the overhead to run the business aspect of E.N. comes out of my own pocket so your help is enormously appreciated!

Note: If you have bought the physical copy of "Lackluster" your copy is ON THE WAY. I'm rolling them out as fast as I possibly can so I thank you for your patience in the matter.

I saw this video today that made me so very sad. Obviously it's a joke but it just goes to show that people are not up to date on their basic US history and/or civics. For those unaware, the women's suffrage movement was started to get women the right to vote. In the video this fellow goes to a school touted as one of the finest educational establishments according to the US Dept of Education and asks women to sign a petition to END women's suffrage. Countless women signed this probably having no clue what this means. All I can say is... Jesus H. Christ. I love that there's a guy in the video that points out to the girl, "Do you know what means??? It's your right to vote!" And the idiot girl keeps going anyway.

Pay attention in school people and if you're out of school... maybe bone up on some of this stuff so you know what the hell is going on out there.

Here's the video:

Another thing I read today thanks to Anna.... an article on how Auto-Tune has ruined music. All I can say to this is AMEN. The article does enough to convince even laymen to the music world so I won't get into my take on it here. I will say that I did have some autotune used on a couple of my songs on "Lackluster" but for the most part the album is all me and all real. "Beautiful Death" being on of the most raw tracks that I can readily name. I recall tracking that song in roughly 20 minutes vocally and that was it. I threw it over to Richard and let it go. Were I to go out on a stage and perform any of this stuff I'd be as naked vocally as the Beatles and I'd be fine. No vocal coach necessary. I'm not saying I'm the BEST singer or even that great but at least it's real. Or it would've been had I continued following my dreams to that destination. But in the words of Mitch Hedberg, I got sick of following my dreams. I just asked them where they were going and decided to meet up with them later.

Here's the article on auto-tune. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30969073/

Just wanted to give a HUGE welcome to all the new friends that have joined us here. Since you're new we'll give you that heads up that Dae does respond to all messages even if it takes her a few months to do it. She's busy doing 1,000 things at once and trying to find time to sleep inbetween.

Some guidelines:

- Comments are screened to avoid needless advertising. We don't do it to you - so don't do it to us.

- Comments are not typically replied to because it would take forever.

- Messages, however, ARE answered as stated above unless it's a simple "hey what's up?" Please be a little more substantial than that because "what's up" can be answered with "the opposite of down." ;p Tell us about yourself, how you like the music (if at all), and what you do. Dae LOVES learning about other people, especially people outside of the US.

- If you have a band and want to do cross promotion we will DEFINITELY hook you up if we like your tunes. Feel free to spam our inbox. Once a month we try to do an update talking about "stuff" and would like to plug some of our musician friends and other artists out there.

- Lackluster is still for sale. There are limited quanities to the physical CD so if you want it, get it now or sooner than later because once they are gone they are gone. Yes, those that ordered it, yours are on the way. We ran into some issue with the pressing company but have found another to help us speed things up. Blame the economy... everyone else does so why shouldn't we?

Enjoy your weekend guys (and girls too).

Some things to share:

1. I'm going to be restarting my radio show within the next week. All the old school fans out there can attest to the fact that my shows are fun and I play awesome music. I also encourage listener participation by requesting songs. So I hope you will tune in. I will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11PM to 2AM Eastern Time.

2. If you haven't, please buy a copy of "Lackluster." Your support of my work is what allows me to continue making music. Details on how to buy the CD are on the page.

3. I will be holding a virtual yard sale to help me on my spring cleaning mission. The things I'll be selling will be random. Clothes that are too big for me, books, CDs, and whatever else I find along the way. All proceeds will go to my bank account so that I can possibly survive since I was laid off from my job. Economy = Fail.

4. I need reviews for Lackluster. If you're willing to write a comprehensive review then I will send you a free digital copy of the album.

5. I need more exposure, people willing to join up officially in the promotion efforts are encouraged to contact me.

That's all. Thanks for playing.
