We'll be playing at the Velvet Lounge in Stony Brook on Saturday, Jan 31st for the whole night. Lots of new tunes including one I wrote while on the road in Arkansas recently. I used to play the Lounge a lot back in the Mother Freedom days, so it should be fun to get back there and let it loose! Also, we'll be back at the National Underground in Manhattan the following Friday, Feb. 6th... Keep warm!

Had a great show at the National Underground Friday night. Very comfortable and cozy room. Thanks to all who came and all who stuck around to hear the band, even if they didn't know us they dug the music. Hope to have some pics posted soon...saw some people taking shots during the set, if you have any pics, let us know.
The new songs really went over well, we should have some more the next time we play there (probably late January/early Feb.).
I'll be on the road again for New Year's into January with Opal Fly, traveling from New Orleans to Eureka Springs, AR. Some warmer weather and calming of the traveling jones seems to inspire my creative juices, we'll find out when I return in mid-January.

Broken Carousel is happy to announce that our debut studio CD "...your proven alibi" is ready and available for download! The CD was recorded and mixed at Brooklyn's Seaside Lounge Studio by Mitch Rackin, and features 11 original songs and one cover of the 70s hit "Brother Louie".

Much thanks to everybody that came out last night and made the Galapagos show such a great time. Good music, good people, good times. Got a late start, not unusual I guess, then Alphabet City and Chuck got it going strong as the room filled up. Both bands pulled in a good amount of people from the other room as well. We've got some video and some pics on the way. All in all, a good night. We'll have some more shows coming up real soon...

January 10th is the first Rock n Roll Soul Roots Party at Galapagos in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We'll be headlining the night with help from the Alphabet City Street Stars giving the roots reggae/dub, special guests, and all the love that makes it down. We'll have a DJ playing GOOD music, special guests sitting in all night on various instruments, and CD giveaways with some new Broken Carousel music, which will preview some of the music on the upcoming CD. My old friend Andrew Bertrand from Mother Freedom will be hitting the drums that night, and we will have backup singers, featured soloists, and vocal guests throughout the set. A good time to be had by all!
