“THREE THE HARD WAY” is a 5 piece Philadelphia based band that plays a potent blend of roots music with threads of blues, dub, folk, jazz, reggae & soul rhythms. In the past, they shared the stage with Kindred and the Family Soul, Roberta Flack, Rusted Root and the Wailers.
They have played at North by Northwest, The Tin Angel, The Hedgerow Theater, Chris’ Jazz Café, The Ram’s Head Tavern, Grounds for Sculpture near Princeton NJ, The Community Arts Center in Wallingford, The Moorestown Arts Center, Media Roots Americana Music Festival, Cultural Fest, a World Music Festival in Harrisburg, The Baltimore Book Festival and ARTSCAPE, the largest free outdoor art and music festival in the United States, held annually in Baltimore. Playing their own original compositions and some classic and or obscure cover songs, they sing conscious lyrics in English and Spanish over heavy rhythms, all refined with solo melodic explorations.
They released their first CD “house party” in 2008 and will release their second CD “Live at the Tin Angel” on Oct 17th 2009. The Philadelphia CD release party is scheduled for Saturday Oct 17th at the Tin Angel, showtime is 10:30 pm.
