Hey guys,

The life of a band is an interesting thing. It has many ups and many downs, its amazing moments and its crushing ones. And, as with anything, it has its end. That time has unfortunately come for Remembrance. The details of this break-up will remain vague, other than to say there were simply irreconcilable differences that the members were unable, or unwilling, to overcome. As with many band breakups there are mixed feelings as relates to how it all went down. Regardless, that is no excuse for harboring negative feelings toward one another. Each person in the band will go on to pursue other things and we wish nothing but the best to all of them.

A HUGE thank you goes out to all the fans who have supported us over the years. You have been nothing but amazing to us. We consider ourselves immensely blessed to have played so many shows throughout the country and met so many amazing people as result. You will never be forgotten! We hope that we have in turn been a blessing to all of you. Our main purpose was always to show the love of Jesus Christ through our music and our lives. We hope that was evident to everyone that we've met over the years.

We will be playing a farewell show at some point in the near future, though a date is still TBA. Please keep an eye open for that. We hope you are all able to make it out!!

God bless,

Adam and Remembrance

Current mood:  accomplished
Insecurities seem to plague me from time to time
They wake me from intoxicating slumber
Trust just isn't what it used to be
It's lost the comfort it used to bring
I've been hurt a few times
Trusted words and actions that were just for show
So I may be a bit needy my dear
I don't mean to be a bother (though I feel that I am)
If I could I'd be less jealous
I'd stop thinking thoughts I know to be untrue (sadly those thoughts were so true)
But at times I feel forgotten
Swept under the rug
If I were you I'd be proud to be with me
(I know that sounds a bit conceited…my apologies)
I'd want there to be no mistake who had my heart
(I feel that way of you but it leaves me feeling silly)
I just want to feel important to you
To feel like your heart belongs to me
Instead I read into every little thing
For the good or for the bad (it's usually for the bad)
In hopes of finding out how you feel about me
(Your words on such things are so limited dear)

I'll keep my head high in spite of my heavy heart
I keep faith you'll lighten it one of these days
When your life settles down like a lamb
Instead of the lion it's become
My arms may be bound and tied; I may not be much help
But I'm here for you whatever it's worth

I'll keep my head high in spite of my heavy heart
(I should have walked away with my head lowered down)
I keep faith you'll lighten it one of these days
(You never would have lightened my heart)
When your life settles down like a lamb
(Your life won't settle down until you seek help)
Instead of the lion it's become
(Your lion of a life only a cover for your lies)
My arms may be bound and tied; I may not be much help
(You didn't want my help. I was just a pawn in your game)
But I'm here for you whatever it's worth
(But I was there for you whatever it's worth)

How long can dreams be fruitful until they rot away?
How long can hopes and wishes thrive before they fade away?
As children we dream dreams much larger than ourselves
The sky's the limit, the world is ours
Where does that all go, who takes it away
Who strips us naked and leaves us to die
Meant for so much, meant to succeed
Yet we err and fall, collapse to the ground
Concede to our failure with no fight at all
Time passes quickly, too quickly to fathom
Our life but a mist, here today gone tomorrow
Without purpose I'm nothing, without wisdom so worthless
I've tried all I can, just running in place
Here's all I have, my heart, my mind, my soul, my life
I've slightly abused them; they're slightly worn out
But you can restore them; you can renew me
Give me a purpose, give me a hope
Revive dreams of old, resurrect the child within
This time I concede, but not as before
This time I concede, to the voice that's within

well well well. tour has been going a little better since i last updated. the first show we played in north carolina was at the volume 11 tavern. there were a good amount of kids there are people were dancing and having a good time. we got screwed out of our guarantee completely by the venue, but the promoter who booked the show took care of us, and even though we won't have the money until we get home, it's still better to have it than to not.

during remembrance's set i got kicked in the face when someone's shoe fell off while they were dancing in the pit. turns out that someone (his name is eddie) and some of his friends (evan and eddie were the main two) went with us to the waffle house after the show. we had been WAITING for a waffle house for the whole tour! so we went there, ate good, and then evan invited us to stay at his house and sleep. YAY! and we got showers the next morning, and got to hang around and watch tv, play on the internet, and play with cute little kitties that evan has.

it turned out that our two shows at cicis pizza got canceled at the last minute, so we had the next day to just hang around. evan and eddie told us about a place called the brewery that was having a show, and we showed up there right as it was starting and were able to hop onto the show. the other bands playing were amazing, including embracing goodbye, yosemite mudflap, knives exchanging hands, and the hotness. it was an awesome show, one of our favorite on the tour so far. we like north carolina. so after that we went to a waffle house again. man i wish the north had waffle houses!

we had another day off, and then we played at the luna bean in wilson, north carolina. there ended up being a fair going on at the time so no one was there, except evan and shayla, shayla who used to live in jackson michigan and who had let us shower at her house and hang out earlier in the day. we love her.

so here were are in south carolina. tomorrow we play a show just outside of atlanta and we have a week straight of shows after that. very excited. and next weekend we will be at cornerstone california!!!! and then, i will be home for a few days. sleeping in my own bed will be very refreshing, i'm not gonna lie!!!

someone just got pulled over in the gas station right next to us. or i should say, a cop pulled up and turned his lights on two cars that were going to fight or something. hmmm. . . ohhh snap, now there's a second car. Look for Remembrance on the next version of Ohio Cops!! and heres the 3rd cop car!! ohhhh, im gonna go watch now.

Current mood: bouncy

right now were listening to mew, driving on i-80 east through pennsylvania. yesterday was a fun day. we hung around cleveland most of the day, stopping at lake erie (forgetting it was labor day weekend so the beach was going to be packed) and doing some swimming and napping on the beach. then we went into town for the much needed trip to guitar center (andrew schwab, how right you were!) and adam and i sat at the dunkin donuts next door charging our computers and just hanging out. after a few hours of that i took a much needed comfortable nap! then we drove more, and gasoline heart kept me company for the rest of the night. we ended up in another wal mart parking lot and im getting used to the weird looks the older greeters give me when i stumble in at 530am all blearyeyed to go to the bathroom and get pop.

when we woke up we looked around in downtown clarion for a coffee shop because adam and i desperately need one of those, but there was no parking anywhere for us and our trailor, and all of the parking there was had meters, so there was no way that was happening.

side note. i forget how much i love east coast towns, even some of the smaller ones we've driven through. they have so much old arcitecture, and culture and history. yay! ohhh, and were hitting the beginning of the appalacian mountains right now.

so anyways, we decided to drive to du bois to find the coffee shop google tells us is called sip and surf. we're just assuming that they have wireless internet there, haha. so adam and i are going to use that. tony is going to find a print shop to make some stuff. and we're just going to hang out. we have today off (unless we're lucky enough to find a show to hop on tonight) and then we play in connecticuit, then new hampshire, then maine. i'm excited to knock out some states that i havent really spent too much time in yet on this tour.

get your eyes off of my bride tonight

we are currently in danbury, ct. we're playing a place called cousin larry's, and we'll be going on soon. today we mostly just hung out around town, all took "showers" (washing our hair with gallons of water) in the parking lot down the street. . . i'm gettting very accoustomed to parking lots. jiffy and i slept outside of the van in a wal mart parking lot last night. it was pretty sweet. aside from it getting cold.

so money is tight. and i'm getting a little nervous that we're not going to be able to make all of the tour dates we have set, specifically cornerstone california. that. would suck. but, we are going to do our best and see where that takes us. if you pray, we would appreciate your prayers. and if you don't, we'd appreciate your best wishes. . .

i should go set up merch.

winter's come early this year. . .
Current mood: curious

i am sitting in an american legion hall in manchester, nh. we have a show in this city tomorrow night, a benefit show for a place called club drifters. we saw a show online and decided to see if they had any open spots we could play. we got here and thought it might not happen, but they ended up having 3 bands drop off of a 6 band show, so we're playing! no money, but its a chance to get the music out there, and if we sell any merch at all then it will be profit for us. and no extra spending on gas since we need to be here tomorrow anyway. i guess jiffys uncle lives on the way to our show after tomorrow, and we just might get showers and a floor to sleep on. yes! i have never been so excited to sleep on a floor in my life.

other news? i don't really know if there is any. pretty much just drove today. got blake's amp fixed in a small city in massachusettes. . . drove some more. hmm. whatever band is playing right now is probably one of the best i've heard the past three shows. oh yeah! so when we pulled up in the parkinglot here today, i saw a michigan plate on someone's trailer and went to ask if they were from the mitten. turns out they are, and turns out i've seen them before, a few times back home -- foredirelifesake, from the metrodetroit area. kinda sweet.

well, im out to look around. or run merch. or do something productive.  yyyeeeeaaaahhh. . .

baby i will wait for you

adam's playing some hip hop and other goodleries. makes me happy for a bit of a change in the van. we just crossed the border into maine, we're playing at the bangor underground tonight, and it's looking like it's going to be a good show. one of the bands we played with last night is playing again, and another band that played last night is coming out to hang and etc.

the show last night was pretty decent. the turn out wasnt the best, but we had a lot of fun, got to talk to stainless a lot (the band coming to hang out tonight) and the other bands were pretty sweet. we also sold a little merch, and any money is helpful right now.

speaking of that, the other night after the 1st manchester show we were talking about ways to raise money, and praying about it a lot. after doing that for a while, we went for a walk to find me a gas station so i could use the bathroom. not even around the corner from where we were parked i saw something on the ground. i picked it up and stopped all of the guys to ask them to make sure that they hadn't dropped anything. no one had. there was no one directly around us. and i had just found $92 on the ground. that to us is a full tank of gas plus a little more. and we *need* money pretty badly. we're worried about how were going to finish this first part of the tour, and to me that was just so much added encouragement and almost like God dropping some help out of heaven to let us know that we were doing the right thing. . . anyways, yeah. so that was amazing.

today we got to hang out at jiffy's uncle's house and meet his family. they were incredibly hospitable and let us make breakfast/helped us cook along with giving us a ton of food, and OMG!!! LETTING US SHOWER!!!!!!!! it was amazing. really. and jiffy's cousin Isaac (hi if you're reading this!) is super cute.

so now im clean. full. rested. and about to go to an amazing show. i can't wait. it's a good day today.

rain falls from the sky
Category: Music

well. it has been a few days since i last updated. and for good reason. things have been kind of insane. phew. that's an understatement. i'll try and pick up where i left off.

we played the bangor underground in maine and the show was ok. we had a flat guarantee there, and there was a pretty good turn out. i had a bit of a run in with a certain sxe hardcore singer who screwed with some of my friends pretty bad, and ended up having to put him in his place when he started trying to start something with me. lots of fun. anyway, after the show the guys (and girl) in stainless took us out to eat and a new friend named luke let us stay at his house and sleep well and shower. so amazing. and in the middle of the night before going to sleep i got to stare up at the stars where there was no light pollution and pick out all of the constellations and did i mention maine is just so beautiful?

that sunday we had off so we just kind of hung around. jiffy and joel and i videotaped some goofiness and then decided to play a prank on the rest of the guys. half of it went over hilariously, and the other half we probably should have thought about a little more before we did it. oh well, its all laughed about now.

monday night we played in portland, maine at a place called the lava lounge. super tiny, but super adorable. another door split show that turned out better than we expected. we got to play with tomorrow's tragedy (a friends band from before) and a band we had never met named bangladesh. both bands full of amazing guys. we ended up getting bangladesh on the show we were playing in connecticut the next night, so we got to hang out with and talk to those guys a lot.

we played at cousin larry's again in danbury, connecticut and the turn out was better than the last time we had played there, but still not so good. there were a few issues going on with the band, and we decided to go out to eat after and talk it all out. long story short, things just weren't working with the new guitarist and we had to figure out what to do. after eating and talking he decided to stay with us for the rest of the month and then we'd switch over when we got back in october. the next day though, after thinking about it more, he decided the best thing to do was to go home and try and get his job back and etc, which we all totally understood. sooo, that night we were around philly and it just so happened that foxy shazam!, kenotia, karate high school and eyes set to kill were playing just outside of philly, right on our way to maryland where we were going to pick up our new guy (chris) the next day, and blakes parents were going to pick him up. so i got to go hang out with foxy and watch everyone play while the guys got to meet them and hang out too. good night in general.

the next day was spent in the city king of prussia, at the king of prussia mall. humongous mall. matt's bag got stolen while he was in h&m, trying something on. he had no cash in it, but his phone and his debit card were there. no good. blakes parents got lost on their way out to pick him up, and so we missed dinner and showers at tonys sister in laws house, but it happens. we headed to baltimore to pick up chris, and then got some food at dennys and hit the walmart parking lot to sleep some more.

next day we had a show at kcs music alley in virginia. it was a good venue, but a mediocre turn out. that happens, though, especially when youre from out of town and people don't know who you are. gotta start somewhere, right? it was chris's first show with us, and all was going really well until his bass broke. wow, i know, right? got it switched out, finished the show, and got a GREAT amount from the door, which is always amazing and eases the mind a little bit. we drove from there to mikey's house, from to laodecia where were got AMAZING sleep, and showers and food the next morning. gotta love southern hospitality. right now we are having a practice with chris before the show tonight which is in raleigh, nc. his bass is fixed and all is sounding pretty well.

aside from that, it seems that everyone has a decent amount of things that are going wrong at home, which we obviously can't be there to help with. it sucks, a lot. but, we are all still pressing through and still making things work. it feels amazing to be traveling and seeing so much, even if im sick and pretty worn down most of the time. i still love experiencing new things. and i love helping these guys as much as i can.

well, i guess that's it. the end. for now.

A night alone with a bottle of wine
Questioning life and all my steps
Waiting for my world to come crashing down around me
Wondering what night's end would bring
The Christmas tree's light fills the room
Casting shadows of fear rather than joy inside my heart
From behind the veil of cowardice my spirit's crushed
The words "Merry Christmas" ring through my ears
The built up rage from within this tiny frame
Broke free that night
Packages so delicately wrapped only nights before
Now objects on which my wrath was poured
The words from these lips so filled with spite
But when that's all one has that's all one can say
Collapsed on the couch my heart slowly crumbled
These eyes often cry for joy now from agony
This empty shell of a man embraced by a friend
No words were uttered…none were needed
The night continued on and so did your lies
I'm such an easy one to deceive
My heart cried out, knowing where it belonged
Not in the hands of humans, but in the hands of the Healer
For the first time true peace embraced me
Transcending all understanding my mind has known
