Current mood: busy
We've been on a bit of a forced hiatus over the last 8 months or so. After our drummer, Andy, left for the sun, sea, and sand of Australia, we've been searching long and hard for a replacement drummer that could step up to the plate. Afer a long search we're pleased to announce that Ashley Guest is now joining the Jotun clan.
Ash has been rehearsing with us for the past couple of months and things are progressing quickly. We are looking to finalise some new songs and are planning to start gigging again in February (gigs to be announced soon).
While we have been searching for a drummer we haven't been sitting on our asses, we've been busy writing new tracks. We've got around 10 new songs that we are working on right now and have uploaded a track called Descendant, which is one that is near completition (lyrics/vocals to be finalised). Other tracks that we're working on include:
Blood Eagle
Sex Bypass
Kebert Xela
Even Hookers Get Cold
Mountains of Madness
(Working titles)
Once these have turned into finished tracks, we'll upload some more clips and samples for your aural pleasure.
You will also be able to see that we have redesigned the site and furnished it with a cool new logo. We felt it was about time for a new logo and the changes in lineup seemed to make it the perfect time. Paul Taylor designed the logo for us and we think its f*ckin ace (look at it upside down as well).
2009 looks like its gonna get off to a good start already. Check back regularly for gig updates and new tracks.
Cheers,
JOTUN

Go check out the latest issue of Zero Tolerance. We are featured in the 'Rapid Fire' section (page 73) for up and coming new bands. There's some cool things written about us in the article so its well worth checking out along with the rest of the stuff in the mag.
On top of that we've had the March of the Giants demo reviewed (4 out of 6), which is cool.
Are Jotun destined to become Giants of the UK metal scene? Go check it and find out.
Cheers,
JOTUN

...Well nearly. March of the Giants is a featured track (track 17, disc 2) in the latest issue of well respected extreme music magazine, Zero Tolerance. We were due to have a review in the mag as well, but unfortunately deadlines got in the way and the write up didn't make it in.
Good news is that we will be in the next issue (on sale July 15th) along with a feature on the band.
So head down to your local newsagent and pick up a copy.
Wickler!

Episode 4 - A New Hope
With the vocals we had a lot of different ideas floatin' around about how to make things sound as cool as possible. Si took lead vocals on March of the Giants and Inhale This Hell, and Alex took lead on Darkside. We recorded the vocal tracks in Si's bedroom, probably much to the annoyance of his neighbours, but hey, this is metal, and it don't stop for no man!
Vocal assistance was provided on Darkside by Charlie from Whisper in the Riot, giving the chorus a different texture to anything else on the other tracks. Mr. Walker from WITR also helped out with some gang vocals on March, and Darkside, not to mention some amazingly skillful 24th fret woggle stick action in March.
The whole recording process was now completed. Final mixes were done, mastering sorted, and the results are available to hear now! If you wanna order a copy, send us a message through the site.
Cheers f*ckers,
JOTUN
