WAMU’s Bluegrass Country needs your help!
As many of you may know, WAMU’s Bluegrass Country broadcasts on HD Radio in the Washington, DC area at 88.5 Channel-2 and online around the world at www.Bluegrass Country.org. Lesser known, however, is the fact that we also broadcast at 105.5 FM out of Reston, Virginia. We expanded to Reston a little less than a year ago, and while we have enjoyed overwhelming success in that area, we suspect that there are still plenty of bluegrass fanatics who are unaware of our presence in that region. That’s where you come in.
What: WAMU’s Bluegrass Country is establishing a Street Team of volunteers to help us get the word out on a grassroots level. Members of this Bluegrass Country Street Team will be asked to hand out promotional postcards for the station at local bluegrass concerts, jams, and to fellow bluegrass enthusiasts. Street Team members will also be asked to drop these postcards off at local bluegrass-friendly businesses for distribution.
Who: We are looking for passionate volunteers in and around Reston, McLean, Great Falls, Langley, Vienna, Tyson’s Corner, Potomac, Glenn Echo, Bethesda, Rockville, Gaithersburg, Germantown, and Quince Orchard.
Why: What do you get in return? For starters, we’ll send you an
awesome Bluegrass Country t-shirt. And if you’re interested, we can arrange for you and a friend to take a tour of WAMU, the historic station that’s been broadcasting bluegrass in the nation’s capital since 1967. Street Team Members will also be eligible for periodic benefits in the future.
If you live in the coverage area of 105.5 FM Reston and are interested in becoming a member of the Bluegrass Country Street Team, please send your name, address, telephone number, and email address to Bluegrass Country’s Jerad Walker via email, telephone, or regular mail:
