On Sept 9, 2009, the same day that The Beatles Rock Band game (not to mention the entire remastered Beatles catalog) is being released to a public ready to experience their old favorites anew, NYC indie popsters Bubble release their 2nd full length original album entitled "Seconds". To celebrate both events Bubble will perform a set of originals (from "Seconds") and Beatle songs at The Living Room on NYC's Lower East Side. Special guests The Jupiter Deluxe kick things off at 9pm! Bubble, a respected local original pop act, have been making a name for themselves with their lavish and faithful recreations of classic Beatle albums at venues such as Lincoln Center and Highline Ballroom and most recently appeared in a video on the New York Times Magazine online testing out the Beatles Rock Band game! While the Beatles Rock Band game and catalog remasters have been in development for several years, Bubble's "Seconds" album has been in the works for over a decade, with it's recording stretching from the '90s to the '00s from Lower Manhattan to the wilds of New Jersey. And though the Bubble Rock Band game is probably another 10-20 years away from seeing the light of day, this collection of songs should please fans of their previous CDs as well as entertain a whole new crowd of fans.

The New York Times asked 'Bubble' - a Beatles tribute band - to demo a new video game called "The Beatles: Rock Band."

Bubble were asked by the New York Times to test out the new Beatles Rock Band game. It was a blast! Now we all want to own it.

Hey to all you people in MySpace land and beyond from us in Bubble Land...new activity on the original music front for us in the next few months.
First of all...we're playing this year's International Pop Overthrow festival on Thurs, Nov 6th @ 8pm at Kenny's Castaways. Last year we played when it was at the Baggot Inn (which I booked and which now is closed). I saw the lineup and it looks great...lots of great bands! It's a short set so please arrive early and stay late...many bands to enjoy for your admission price.
On the recording front...for those of you who had long ago given up on the next Bubble CD, much like G n R fans had with "Chinese Democracy", the many-years-in-the-making saga for this record (code named Coma in Tacoma) is finally reaching an end. We're just a few overdubs away from the final homestretch of mixing (which is actually pretty far along) and mastering. Be prepared to consume this record in the form of A and B side MP3 singles in the not too distant future. By the time all the singles are out we'll hopefully have a pressed CD (and even a vinyl LP) ready for purchase. These are really some of the best songs we've put to tape...REAL TAPE...and I think for folks who came to see us back when we started playing them live (some of them as far back as '94) it'll make 'em smile remembering some show at the Sidewalk Cafe or Mercury Lounge or Sin-é...or Brownies...or Fez (only 2 venues on that list are still standing...sigh). After this one I'm going to be ready to put out another solo thing with all the stuff I've been recording. This is going to be a very self-indulgent blog posting (aren't they all?). Last night the original BUBBLE trio (myself, Russ Alderson and Tom DeVito) got together to rehearse. What should have been some serious shaking off of the rust (we haven't done a trio show in at least 3 years) turned out to be several hours of pure musical bliss. I have played with all different configurations of lineups with Bubble and it's always been fantastic. I have been blessed to play with brilliant players galore...but Russ, Tom and I for some reason click. I hope all you Bubble MySpace friends come out this Friday, August 22 to help me celebrate almost 15 years with these guys...and 42 years on this earth (yes it's my birthday). And coming late '08 early '09 Bubble will finally release our 2nd full length CD...we're really proud of it. Some of it was recorded in '96 (with the original trio) and some in '03 with Tommy on drums and Matt Lindsey on bass (and Max Low ..s). We've been adding other instrumentalists (Jon Spurney, Bill Malchow and Rich Feridun) and really making this the album I wish we could have made in '96....thankfully technology and years of learning make this the album we only could be making NOW. OK...my gushing love letter to my band is now over. See you all Friday or at some Bubble gigs in the near future.
