Engl: Just a short version...will translate more tomorrow. So there will be a Single Club where you can Pre-Order 4 Singles from the amazing Narshardaa Records and get one Single per month starting from September. The Club will feature singles by THE NOW-DENIAL, IDEL HANDS, TREND and us. We already recorded three songs. One from the demo, a completly new song and a coversong. The are currently being mixed and will then be mastered by our friend James Plotkin. More details later...
German:
NAR 028 - 031: NARSHARDAA SINGLE CLUB NO. I (Herbst 2009)
So, hier kommt mal was anderes. Art Of The Underground inspiriert haben. Jede Scheibe kommt in anderer Farbe. 20,- EURO inkl.
Darf mensch Trend so nennen?
Punkt.

TOMBS / PLANKS SPLIT RECORD - REVIEWS1) http://mindinversion.wordpress.com/2008/12/16/album-review-tombs-planks-split-12/ ...thanks to Ryan. "This split is the second time I’ve heard a release from New York Cities Tombs(not to mention the jaw dropping set I *unexpectedly* saw from them on their tour with Rosetta and Engineer), and probably the last time I’ll hear from them before Relapse releases their next album in 2009. Inside and out, Tombs capture an essence of something awesome and raw. Their experimental style of doom metal borrows from both black metal and hardcore, rocking brutally hard while appearing celestial and airy. “Gods of Love and Suicide” begins this disc with extremely bleak, blackened overtones; it is a tortured, emotional ballad made for the king ov the underworld. On this song, the young band is particularly tight, and the subtle dynamics and background synths play with my mind in a strange way. “Cypress” brings Tombs out into more familiar territory - a slow brewing psychedelic post-doom epic that cascades into an ending barrage of 3 minutes of brutal riffage and vocal venom. The final track,, “Cheval Noir”, is perfectly in place, but a bit unexpected to be honest. A softly crooned steadily building jam, it is a relaxing contrast to the heaviness of the first two tracks and is a bold way to fade out their half of album. If anything, this split indicates they’ve got a really solid grasp of their attributes and abilites and will have gone into the studio with a fire inside for the next full length. I’ll be looking forward to it. The Planks half of the split is a bit rough around the edges, but its equally brutal and competent. Three songs of punctuated hardcore-influenced doom metal that are a bit more direct and unrefined than the twisting beauties that Tombs crank out in the first half. All of the tracks are thick slabs of hard-rocking sludge, dominated by a throbbing groove that will get your head bobbing. Right away, “A Sunken City” introduces you to the band with a heavy assault of super heavy molten metal. “Of Tides and Bearing”’s meandering rocking onslaught takes it to the next level. In particular, the last song”Sirens” locks into an extended intrumental jam that rocks harder than anything I’ve heard from the big names in stoner rock this year. Personally, I really commend them for wrapping songs that sound so huge it a tight package. While short and sweet, Planks’ songs are epic and immense. If I had to draw comparisons, I’d place Planks in the same arena with modern bands like Engineer, Knut, and Buried Inside. I’ll keep my eyes open for more new music from them."

our record is out - we're stoked. here are some of the reviews we got for the record: ___________________________________________________________________
: PLANKS -s/t- LP (narshardaa records 023) ::
Nice dark and heavy apocalypstic hc/punk which reminds us of old Narshardaa releases like Arsen and Angstzustand includes modern HC like, Old Man Gloom, Coliseum or Isis meets old hc like His Hero Is Gone or Union of Uranus. There are tons of bands playing a similar style today, but for us Planks are one of the very very very few that matter.

PLANKS - s/t (2008/NARSHARDAA)
HARDCORE. PLANKS from the Mannheim erea deliever on their debut full-length nice dark and heavy apocalypstic hardcore which reminds of old classics like URANUS, HIS HERO IS GONE, COALESCE and modern bands like COLISEUM. There are tons of bands playing a similar style today, but PLANKS are one of the very few that matter. Agitated immensity in explosive velocity - volatile pieces of dark gloomy hardcore fused with metallic influences in an expansively loud combination of distortion and atmospheric noise. This is destructo hardcore with everything amplified into the red to fuel powerful lyrics. Mastered by the amazing James Plotkin. Comes with fullcolor and heavy cover and insert.

________________________________________________________________ (this next one is very important and means a lot to us. thanks to andrew anti.5! his blog is probably the only one you SHOULD READ! PLANKS 'st' 12' This self-titled 12' EP is the debut release from German trio Planks (on Narshardaa Records), which offers up eight tracks of dark, sludgy hardcore/punk in 22 minutes. The label describes it as 'modern hardcore like Old Man Gloom, Coliseum, or Isis meets old hardcore like His Hero is Gone or Union of Uranus', and that's actually not too far from the mark. The backbone has more of a gritty, sinister sort of vibe to it, with lots of discordant chord phrasings and surging midpaced tempos, but the tracks are pretty much all about two to three minutes apiece, keeping things short but sweet and occasionally breaking into a faster and more energetic burst that, like the running times, is indeed more hardcore oriented. The material was actually recorded in the band's rehearsal room, which is an impressive tidbit considering the results sound quite fucking good for this particular style. The mix is well balanced, there's a good amount of forceful low-end, and the guitars - which are the driving force - have a great sense of texture and natural warmth. They also recorded three tracks for an upcoming split with Tombs in this same session, so keep an eye out for that as well, 'cause this is great shit. The 12' is limited to just 500 copies (100 on green, 400 on black), so act now before these cats start catching on a bit more… http://www.aversionline.com/blahg/2008/09/08/planks-st-12/ _________________________________________________________ Planks - s/t (Narshardaa) As dark, dense and German as a fresh Bratwurst, Planks are a trio that
go down the well-worn His Hero Is Gone route, with tightly-wound,
satisfyingly heavy hardcore deviating every so often to churn out some
super-seasick Eyehategod-style stoner grooves when the time change is
due. Lyrics offer no rays of light in on this murkily suffocating
world, making this the sort of record for those moments in your life
when everything is great and you need to be taken down a peg or two.
This comes beautifully presented, the medieval etching used to tasteful
effect within the muted palette. http://www.collective-zine.co.uk/reviews/?id=6529 (Thanks to Kunal. He's the man. Nice guy and great host. You should buy more Superfi Records!) more to come... if you find a review on the net, drop us a line. thanks.

Current mood: pleased
We're stoked, our friends from NY whom we will be touring with this September are officially a Relapse band right. Being one of the best bands around this should bring the recognition they deserve. We wich them all the best and look froward to their new record, the Split record we do with them and especially to the tour. Btw: how cool is it to do a split with a Relapse band!! :-) -plks-
Statement, Mike Hill/ Tombs: Tombs signs to Relapse Records. We're excited to be working with a group of hard-working people like the folks at Relapse. Also, we're on the same record label that released "Through Silver in Blood" by Neurosis; how cool is that?
We enter Translator Audio in August. My old colleague, Andrew Schneider will be engineering. We've been rehearsing hard; stay tuned for demo versions of all of the songs on the record in the coming weeks.
Hill
Statement Relapse Records: Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of Brooklyn, NY's TOMBS.
