Tunecore (the company a lot of us use to put our music up on iTunes) released a widget allowing us to put our music on our pages, complete with links to buy said songs off of iTunes. So, right here, in the blog, you can listen to the entire albums, or click the link and purchase them off of iTunes :)

Yeah. F*** hiatus'. I'm back playas. Ok, enough with that. I am white and need to learn to embrace the fact that regardless of how hard I try not to be, I will always be a white male. aaaaaaaaaanyways. To the point; As stated above. I am back. Thats right. Catchlove will (soon anyways) be playing more shows, releasing albums, and all sorts of good stuff in the upcoming months. For those of you who have been following me via twitter or facebook, know that I have been working on stuff here and there over the past few months. And I know, oh dear God I know that i said I was on hiatus and taking a break from wizard rock. And when I said "Wizard Rock", I did not in fact mean music. Believe it or not, but music about Harry Potter is not the only music i do! *gasp!* In fact a few of you may even remember the time I played music about Star Wars LOOOOOOOOOONG before i started playing music about Harry Potter. For those of you who didnt know...... you do now ;) Anywhoozle, I posted this vlog yesterday, you should totally watch it. I talk about the new album a little and stuff: Here are some of the Album art concept pictures; Yaaaaaay!!!!!! Also mentioned in the video was the Chornish Pixy Choral Delight Christmas Album; also slated to be out for Wrockstock. You guys may remember them from their secret track off of Where Do We Go From Here? as well as their renditions of "Deck the Halls" on OMG! It's Christmas and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" on It's Still Snowing. I am more excited to have these little buggers back in the studio and you know that whatever they come out with is going to be pure crazy christmas mayhem. In a good way of course, haha. As for shows coming up, I will post them on the main page, as for now, the two big shows coming are Archon (a Sci-Fi Con in StL) and Wrockstock the Third. Go to both. They will be awesome Thats all I've got for now. I'm glad to be back.<3

OMG. It's Still Snowing has been the biggest pain in my ass. This whole album has snowballed; i didnt finish it by the time i wanted to, therefore i was late sending it off to TuneCore for it to reach iTunes. Under normal circumstances, a month tops and your album's live, but due to the fact i missed my deadline, and put it up closer to christmas, it got lost in the chaos that was EVERYONE putting up new music. So, after weeks and weeks of waiting, i go back to TuneCore and its says it has been sent, sweet, it should be live in a few days... I check about a week later and it says its "Ready To Send."iTunes rejected the album for no reason what-so-ever. So i send it again. Mind you this is after christmas at this point. So I forget about it for awhile, letting it take its few weeks to send, about February i log-in again to see it saying it's still "Ready To Send." I flip a shit, what the hell is going on and why wont tunecore work? So i do what every every wizard rocker does. I bitched about it online, to be exact, on my twitter. Well, within 2 hours I had an email for tunecore, from the co-founder Peter Wells, who saw my tweet and wanted to help me get this whole mess taken care of. So anyways, there was an issue with the format of the artwork that itunes was bumping and not telling us, so a quick 30 second fix that could have been taken care of months ago is why It's Still Snowing is just NOW on itunes. You should go buy it, haha

Hey there!
Hope you guys are doing well. If you haven't seen, I changed the look of my page. The picture in the background is a part of my next albums artwork.
Wait....
What?
Yup, I said it. Next album. I have decided to take this hiatus as a time to seriously work on music. And not just Wizard Rock, but "muggle" music too. My next album, simply titled <3 will hopefully be ready for Wrockstock the Third if not before then. I have been working on music when it strikes me, and I must say, I think it's sounding pretty damn good.
<3 will be a mix of the wizard rock and "muggle" music i will be producing over the next few months. As of now it's looking like it will mostly be "muggle" tunes, with a few wizard rock revamps including "Dontcha Know" (currently on my page) and "I Found Love" and "It'll Be Ok" (even newer, more rocking versions than the ones on my page!)
This album will most likely be my cross-over album as I move away from doing just Wizard Rock, and I hope you guys will stay with me for this journey.
I love you guys.
I seriously do. <3

So a friend and I were talking today about our bands. Hers was currently at a recording studio working on some stuff, so I thought i'd google them, just curious to see what i'd find. After not really finding a whole lot, I was curious to see what would show when i googled myself. I found the typical stuff, wizrocklopedia, my myspace, articles ive been in, peoples livejournals talking about shows, websites announcing shows, youtube videos and so on. It was cool to read some of the stuff on some of the threads i found, as well as some people's livejournals, i mean, its like i was reading something that maybe i wasnt suppose to, like going through a friends email or something to see if they're talking bad about you, haha Anywhos, i came across a thread about wizard rock, the OP posted a brief synopsis of wizard rock, and highlighted a few bands and reviewed them. I think it was on a LotR thread, so the people reading it had never heard wizard rock, and the person writing it seemed like they had stumbled upon it, and wanted to share. Point being, I dont read a lot of reviews of myself, haha. Primarily because I dont care enough, which i know it sounds bad, but i mean, if you like my music, great...if you dont... well...then you dont. Those are your opinions and I respect them. But this review, i guess because it was an outsider I'm assuming and not a friend, it was very nice. Especially in this last month before the hiatus, it was nice to see someone outside of our community dug my music. Here's what they said; One of the things that surprised me the most about Catchlove is that it is genuinely good music. H&tP and D&tM are both fine bands, but you come to expect mediocre music in the wrock world and hope that lyrics will be clever enough to pick up the slack. Catchlove, unlike most of the wrock bands who do well enough, would probably survive under the scrutiny of non-Potter fans. Many of the songs are thoughtful and discuss the deeper aspects of the series, like the betrayal by Peter Pettigrew in "That Rat," the nature of war and sacrifice in "Going to the Ministry" and "Dumbledore," and the nuances of love in "Mother's Day." The high-powered "Heading Down to Hogwarts," about the final battle at Hogwarts, is one of my favorite wrock songs and manages to take the energy and nerves of the Great Hall and make you want to dance to the musicalized "Not my daughter, you bitch!" Catchlove consists solely of Jace, with a few guests every now and then. (Like the naming of bands after individuals in the HP universe, one-member bands are another commonality in wrock). What Catchlove does best is to take the raw feelings of the later books, when Rowling and the readers have passed the happy, good-guys-always-win phase and understand what war and love are really about, and transfer those emotions into music. Some of his songs genuinely pull at the heartstrings when you think about what he's singing. It's a plus that his music is so great on top of that. So whoever you are, thanks. I really appreciated it, it was a good article, and as said before, its always nice to hear nice things about yourself, haha. you can check out the rest of the article/thread here; http://spacefem.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34517

I posted a vlog the other day mentioning my plans for my future in the Wizard Rock community. I got a few messages and replies that made me realize that I hadnt really gone public with my plans. I wrote a note on facebook, but i forgot to post it here, allowing those of you who are not friends with me via FB to miss out on the news. So here's the note i posted on facebook in early December; "Let's Clear the Air..." I knew coming into this almost 2 years ago that this wouldn't last forever. And it saddens me that i'm already starting to feel myself being pulled in another direction. I love wizard rock. I love the people involved in wizard rock. Whether it be other bands, fans, families, friends, ect...
In the past 2 years I have been lucky to travel the united states, play shows with some of the greatest people in the world, meet some of the most amazing humans the universe could possibly ever know, and have even managed to find myself falling in love with everyone, (and no, not just in a romantic way, though that does apply as well...)
The past year alone, I gave my heart and soul to this movement. I tried to be everywhere, be available to anyone who wanted to talk to me ever, and generally just be in peoples faces, haha. I even lost my old job because of Wizard Rock, (although you will never hear me complain about that, it was probably the best thing to ever happen to me.) Because of my termination, i was able to travel almost nonstop from last september until this september. I was able to work on music constantly and really grow as a musician.
But i find myself at a crossroad again... and the past week, through talking with friends, and tons and tons of thinking and pondering, meditation and prayer, I have found what i believe i should do next....
The past few months have been hectic. Trying to balance relationships with a new job and with music and this part of my life hasn't been easy. I find myself at the end of the day wishing for more time. I'm sure a many of us do.
Things here on the homefront haven't been the easiest, it seems like something is constantly happening to cause strife between us all. This new job, as amazing and rewarding as it is, has its obvious drawbacks. I mean, did any of you who really know me ever see me ending up behind a desk in my own office working full time and making almost what i made last year alone in 3 months?
I sure didn't. However, I am enjoying myself, I get to do something i enjoy (aside from music and cartoons haha.) But because of that, Catchlove is suffering. I just finished It's Still Snowing... The goal i set for me back in August was October 17th. Here it is a month later and i just finished, and havent even uploaded it yet. So much for iTunes, eh?
I hate that Catchlove is suffering. It breaks my heart. This silly project that I expected nothing from, is the one thing that has managed to really make me grow up and realize who I am as a person. And it's dying.
So, whats a loving creator supposed to do? I read Ol' Yeller. I refuse to take this out into a field and finish it off with one single shot to the head. I also read comic books and science fiction. Therefore, for those of you who are nerdy, Catchlove is going into suspended animation until i can bring it back to life fully.
I'm still going to carry out the plans i already have. The OkC Yule Ball. It's Still Snowing, and Wrockstock 09. But since I have nothing else between January till November, it only seems right Catchlove take a Hiatus until I can come back with 100%, like i did 2 years ago.
After feb 1st, you probably wont see me around much as I jump back into my normal life, but dont fear. I'll be around.
So... the road hasn't been easy, if it had been, this probably wouldnt have been as fun or amazing as it has been. But, in the words of Robert Frost, words we all know;
"I took the [road] less traveled by, and that has made all of the difference."
I didnt have to do this. I could have let it go after a month or two
but i didnt
and I am forever grateful for everyone who stood by me during this.
and to be even more nerdy;
I never expected to find (any of) you here But I did I found love (and family, and friends) in wizard rock.
I love you. that being said, here is the vlog;
ALSO, since i'll be taking a back seat for awhile, all of my albums (except the EP of the Month Club) are now available through Kunaki Click Here to view the store, and buy my stuff ;) SO yeah.... I guess i'll see you guys around. I promise at least one more blog/vlog before February. -Jace

Bah Humbug. I finally got cd's ordered. There was some set backs with the art work (such as having to start completely over due to a certain cat finding a wet painting to be quite the scratching post...) So, I apologize in adavance if cds dont make it in time for christmas. I am however willing to send you a digital copy to hold you over until it reaches you. If youve ordered a CD, and you want a digital copy, please email me, so I can email you the tracks asap) Kunaki promises 24 printing and mailing, but then add in 1-5 days shipping, i may not get the cds until friday or saturday. I need them by wednesday to mail them out on time in for christmas. This is such a drag and incredibly frustrating. On top of the fact that it still hasnt gone up on itunes either :( In any case, here's the final cover art. I think its pretty. It was painted by my friend Shaine. He's a rad dude.

So I thought i'd give you an update on my next Christmas album; It's Still Snowing.
To start off, its almost complete, i have like 3-4 more songs to finish recording, as well as getting the artwork finalized. Then after that it will be uploaded to itunes which might take like a month, so it should be up mid-november, just in time for christmas. I plan on having hard copies available for the few yule balls i might be playing.
Here's the current track, these are songs i have completed;
1. Carol of the Bells 2. Luna (A Christmas Song) 3. Tis the Season (written by Jake Niffler and myself) 4. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies/ untitled Yule Ball song (technically 2 tracks) 5. We Wish You a Merry Christmas (featuring the Cornish Pixy Choral Delight) 6. It's Still Snowing (featuring Danny Dementor!!!!!!!)
Tracks to be finished; 7. Auld Lang Syne 8. acoustic version of It's Snowing 9. New version of Christmas Wishes for Draco 10. and possibly Little Saint Nick 11. and possibly Sleigh Ride
the last two are still up in the air due to time restraints. I'll let you guys know like next weekend haha.
I am so stoked about this album. I am really enjoying the tracks so far, i think you guys will thoroughly enjoy it.
Alright, until next time.
