Hey guys! We've been playing a ton of shows, and we just kinda got to our "rest" period now. However, we recently got a kickass slot at the skylark on October 11th! We'll be headlining the show I believe, and we're really looking forward to it cause this will be our first all ages show in the Seattle area in a long time. Our last all ages show was at the viaduct in Tacoma last week, and that went really really well, so we are STOKED to play this one closer to home. In other news, our new EP is getting mastered on the 9th of this month, and be released sometime in october. We'll have the specifics up once we know them... There's going to be a lot of changes going on on our website and myspace, so check back for more info often. Hope to see you on October 11th! -James

Just to be clear everyone, this is Jon. Lately I've been struggling with the desire to write something inspirational. I haven't been satisfied with anything I've written in the past and I needed something new. As some of you may know I am just as devoted to bass as I am to drums, and probably on the same skill level with both instruments. On average I spend 7 - 10 hours a day, (everyday) practicing; I really push myself to constantly grow and do things I never thought I could do.
Last Sunday night I wrote this new song. It uses classical progressions with a twist. Almost what you'd expect to hear from early Muse. We'll be recording at the Hive starting the week of Feb the 23rd, devoting all our days to this one song, with a single goal: to make it perfect. We should be releasing the single and preforming this song on our upcoming show at Studio Seven, March 1st. So it be would mean a lot to me and to all of us to see all of our devoted fans there. You wont wanna miss this...
Anyways, I decided I'd post the lyrics. This is everything I originally wrote, James may change the order, or not use certain parts in the final editing, but all-in-all this is the song. I'd appreciate any comments you have about the lyrics, and also I'd really like to know what you think this song may be about...
One last thing I want to make clear... This song has nothing to do with Religion, Sex, Drugs, or any Girl out there. I dare you to figure out the true meaning... Hope you enjoy!
I need that rush To feel like a dream To kill for, To die for And everything in between
Heart pounding fast Veins pulsing blood Life living its best All I can do is run
The day to day life I'm trapped in despair Bliss and revival This drug is a dare
It's like a rare diamond You only find once This feeling, this craving It's a blood thirsty lust
People try each day To feel this explosion But they crumble away Like a landmass erosion
The rush when it comes It comes hard and fast This merciless devotion I need this to last
Nothing of this world Can come close to compare These fluttering energetic chemicals Almost too much to bare
Lay back and watch This devil do its trick 1,000's of emotions Which one will stick?
Struck of agony and awe There may be a price to pay Eyes closed, live in the moment It's destiny today

I'm still out in Hawaii, and it was very hot today. I hear the flooding is still ridiculous back home, and that is a bummer for sure, cause I don't know how I'm gonna get to my house when I fly in on sunday!
The band has a twiter! It's twitter.com/pilotstoday Go on there and follow us to get updates on the fly.
I'm also working on getting a up a mp3.com account, a cultvault account and I'm trying to get us up on CD Baby.
Exciting stuff. We miss you guys. -James

Hey guys!! this is james... I hope everything is going well. I'm off in hawaii on vacation, but I hear it is quite messy in washington. With the flooding and everything... I come back on the 11th and just hope I can get to my house. I started going to college in kirkland, and that has been fun, but it's been a huge drain on my time, lol. We've been writing a lot of new material lately, getting ready to record a new single. It's been kind of a slow last few months as we have kind of been 'recuperating', lol. But we are back up and at it! I will be back in the studio in february, and it's looking like there will be a show with sirens sister soon... we're pretty stoked for that.
I'll keep ya posted! -James

Pilots Today has the opportunity to host the finals for the Gorilla Productions battle of the bands in SEATTLE on october 10th! That's a friday night. Who would be able to come??? Basically, if we do finals on this date we win if we bring the most people to the show... I'm thinkin' we need to bring at least 100. That shouldn't be too hard if the people that were there last night are willing to come out and support us again! Friday night will be WAY easier then sunday night to get people to come out! The winner will get $500 cash, a $20,000 recording package deal, and a got shot at a spot on a 25 city US tour. As you can see there's a lot at stake! Just let me know. After all, we do this for you guys... lol :) -James www.pilotstodaymusic.com myspace.com/pilotstoday

Well I had fun last night. Lol. I guess I broke part of Jon's high hat stand, but I told him I'd pay him back. My bad. My knee hurts like crazy though. I think it was a success though. Thank you to everyone who came out! We were able to presale all but two of our tickets in one night, and the booking agent (ian) was impressed. That means it can just keep getting better. This is for you guys more than it is for us so be happy!!! Peace out, -James p.s. I should have a video blog from last night up soon. I'll keep ya posted.

Hey guys!! So the show on the 11th was pretty sweet. We played at the Charleston out in bremerton. The hardest part about it all was getting there, lol. Me and Cris had an interesting journey in which we went to the wrong fery... it's a long story but basicaly we ended up in seattle instead of edmonds o_o
That's cris on the phone telling them we were gonna be late, lol.. The fery ride was pretty fun though. I love ferries:
The funny part was Me and Cris had to ask some random guy to take our picture on the ferry. He thought we were gay I think... partialy because we were both sporting flip flops. Cris is a bad influance on me:
It was a good trip, and we FINALY made it to the Charleston. Jon and frans made it too! Double bonus brownie points!! We had fun, it was killer. Come to the next show at Studio Seven on August 11th!! Hope to see you guys there!
-James :)

Current mood: rebellious
So I don't think like, anyone we know is coming to the show tonight. That'll be weird. It is kinda far away though, in bremerton, and with gas so expensive I don't really expect manny people to make the drive out there from here. It would be tight if a few if you did though, I'm not telling you to not come! lol.
However, if you can't make it to this one, we REALLY REALLY need all of you to be at the show next month on the 11th. If you don't all come, we will get ripped off and will end up losing money on the show :'(
So yeah, I'm in my house getting ready for tonight. Listening to The Dandy Warhols 'wellcome to the monkey house' album. I am addicted to this album right now, not even kidding. IT IS SOOOO GOOD! If you don't have it... go buy it. It might seem a little weird to you at first, but after a while you'll just crave it. See you tonight?? I hope so -shade
