I never thought I'd have to do this, but it looks like the time has come for me to write out a list of answers to the most frequently asked questions I get asked on Myspace! How cheesy, right?! Hopefully this will cut down on the number of e-mails I'm getting, because I really do feel bad that I can't respond to all of them. :-( There are a thousand more, so I will keep adding to this when I have time. Here are the easy ones!
1. I like the clothes I see on your page. Where can I buy it?HERE!
2. How often do you add new items? I try to add new clothes at LEAST every other day or whenever time permits. Keep checking back, because stuff usually goes pretty fast once I post it!
3. Do you bleach your hair before dying it? Because I have black hair too and really want to dye it blue, but am afraid to bleach it.Yes, I bleach my hair using 30 volume peroxide. It is impossible to dye black hair without bleaching it first. Don't be afraid!!! Bleach is your friend! However, if you don't know what you are doing, I HIGHLY recommend getting it done at a salon. I once burned the entire front half of my hair off with bleach and spent 2 months looking like Billy Ray Cyrus. Not fun!
4. What color and brand of dye do you use in your hair?Special FX "Fishbowl Blue" with streaks of "Blue-Haired Freak" and "Atomic Pink."
5. Who cuts/dyes your hair?My friend Blair at Salon Tribez in Danville is the most amazing hairdresser in the world. Yeah, I know Danville is kind of in the middle of nowhere, but it's so worth the drive! Blair will take good care of you and make sure you leave looking and feeling your best. Plus, there's a good sandwich shop downstairs.
6. Do you ever make clothes for plus sized girls? Why are all your clothes so small?I love all you plus sized girls and try my best! However, I try most of the clothes on myself to see if they hang properly, so that's why most of the stuff I make is in my size (small/medium). It's hard to tell if a garment has a proper fit and cut unless I drape it on an actual human, and usually it's easiest to just do it myself. Sorry, I am working on it! :-)
7. Are you a professional model? Because I want to be a model and don't know how to get started and was wondering how you did and etc. etc. etc.? No! I model a lot of my own clothing because sometimes my friends are too busy to come over and model for me, and I get impatient haha. Thanks though! (I feel silly even answering this question, but I'm amazed how many people think my dorky snapshots are a real attempt at a modeling career, haha) Besides, I'm way chubbier and self-conscious in real life than I look in my pics so I would never make it in modeling
8. What makeup do you use?Most of my bright eye shadows are Kryolan. Get them

9. How do you do your makeup? Do you have any makeup tips?There is no way I can answer this question completely, as it is impossible to sum up 10 years of makeup-wearing experience in one paragraph! Besides, I have no real advice except to experiment and have fun. Everyone learns thru trial and error--there is no secret formula to doing it right. I started experimenting with makeup in high school and have so many embarrassing pictures of myself with green lipstick, tin foil glued to my forehead, and stars drawn all over my face with eyeliner. Everyone laughed at me, but hey! I thought I looked good, and that's all that counts! I still feel like a Cirque du Soleil reject 99 percent of the time, but that's okay. Fun is the key, and I don't care if people talk shit about my clown face. You shouldn't either! :-) But seriously, please don't e-mail me asking for detailed makeup tutorials, because half the time I have no idea what I'm doing either.
10. I want to be a fashion designer. What fashion school do you recommend? What classes and programs do you think I should take?Dude I never went to fashion school. This whole design/sewing thing started out as a side hobby and kinda just took off from there. Sorry, I don't know what schools are good or what classes you should take. You should not trust my advice anyway, because I failed high school sewing class and don't know how to read patterns! I'm pretty sure you can find opinions and reviews online though.
11. Hi, I have written to you over 10 times and you have not responded once. Are you mad at me? Did I say something wrong? Was my user icon offensive?Definitely not mad!!! I can't stress it enough--I do appreciate all the friendly messages, but at this point it's gotten IMPOSSIBLE for me to answer all of them! I do all of my own designing, sewing, writing, picture-taking, modeling (there's the scary M-word again!), listing, and business-related correspondence. I had to hire an assistant to help me with packaging, shipping, and other day-to-day operations, so you can imagine how stressed I am most of the time. I don't have time to get on Myspace that often. It's nothing personal, I'm not mad at you! :-)
12. Did you make the clothes on your page?Most of it. I also sell vintage items! You can just click on the pics for details!
13. Can I interview you for my magazine/website/zine?Sure!! But don't email me here, because I don't really check it as often as I used to, so my messages get buried under junk mail pretty quickly. Send the info on over to amy@shrinkle.net and I'll check it out! If possible, please also include a link to the zine/website/etc.
