Hi friends!
It's been a while since my last blog - thanks so much for being patient! Things have been hectic, and by the looks of things, it'll never slow down... Perfect! :)
A lot of you have been asking me when the next CD will be out. We've got a few fun things in the works that we'll be announcing soon, but one project I CAN tell you about is one that's had me hard at work writing lyrics!
I received an e-mail from a pianist in Germany about 9 months ago. He'd found me online, and wanted to know if I'd be interested in writing lyrics to some of his material, if I'd come to Koln and record it with him and his group! They're signed to the Sony/BMG label in Europe.
So, for the last few months, I've been hard at work writing lyrics about summer, princesses, spirituality, friendship, and love! It's been an amazing process, and I've learned so much.
I'll be traveling to Germany at the end of September (Oktoberfest!) to record the material, and it will be released about a year later! We'll be touring extensively through Europe, and will hopefully take the show through the United States as well.
For those of you in Southern California - the group will be visiting in August, and we'll be previewing the material at the Barclay Theatre in Irvine. Check out the tour page for more info.
And for those of you who are NOT in the SoCal area, here is a video of my band performing one of the songs at our last show in Los Angeles.
This is Summer Song (Music/Bernhard Schueler, Lyrics/Sara Gazarek):
v.1
The summer rain on the pavement.
Young lovers lie in the green grass.
Sweet scents I can remember.
Just like the day I fell for you.
v.2
The sound of birds in the tree tops.
And children play in the ocean.
Sunflowers grow in a garden.
How well I should remember (when I fell for you).
Ch.
And I am taken
Back to a time with you
Where love would linger
And that was all we knew
Back when my heart would dance
Dance to a song of you
And love would linger
And that was all we knew.
(interlude and solos)
v.3
Sunsets into the ocean.
The sound of wood on the bonfire.
Sweet scents I can remember
Just like the day I fell for you.
v.4
Kids running round in the dusk light.
Old lady's baking a peach pie.
Birds fall to sleep in the tree tops.
How well I should remember (when I fell for you).
(Chorus)
