Last night was trick-or-treat night in Vienna. I think that was the most ghosts and gobllins
I have ever seen. We started by giving out 2 to 3 pieces of candy per "trick-or-treater" but it wasn't long before we had to cut it back to one piece per person.
Okay, I have a question??? When I was growing up, we had trick-or-treat etiquette. Is that still around??
As I remember it....you didn't trick-or-treat past 12 or 13 years old.
You went to a house only once...even if they gave out the good stuff...such as homemade cookies or the big candy bars!!!
You said thank-you
I said "person" earlier because I didn't consider some of the people that were trick-or-treating as kids. One girl (lady) actually had crows feet at her eyes and they weren't made with make up. Actually she was trying to hide them with make-up. I thought that I might have just imagined it, but my neighbor asked me if the age group was up to 40.....He had noticed it too.
One little bumble-bee came to the house three different times......She was sooo cute and I had to laugh the third time she came up the walk.
I went to put a candy bar in one little guys "pumpkin" and he asked me if he could pick out what he wanted.......lol.....I let him do that because there were just a few candy bars left at the bottom of the basket.
The next little guy (they were together) asked me if he could have another candy bar after I had given him one........
My favorite one of the evening was the guy (about 16 ) who walked up to me and just stood and looked me in the eye. (You notice I said "in the eye") He was as tall as me and I am 5'7". He didn't have a bag, bucket or anything to put candy in. I stood there and looked at him and he finally held out his hand and said Trick-or-treat....then I put a cany bar in his hand...he turned and walked off.
Then there were the kids that made it all worth while.....the little boy that reached up for me to pick him up....not sure why...but I did....He was cute.
Cali and Zane came by.......wow.....I wouldn't have recognized Zane....he was a great hobo!!!!! Cali was sleeping...and absolutely adorable!!!!!!
There was the little boy that was carring his little sister around piggy-back because she was tired. She was about to strangle him....lol....but he wasn't about to put her down.
My neighbor actually went off the porch to the end of the driveway because one little goblin told him he was too tired to walk up to the porch.....
.
It's always fun to give out candy to the kids....but this year sure was different. I am curious to see how next year will be..........
