Last night was trick-or-treat night in Vienna. I think that was the most ghosts and gobllins I have ever seen. We started by giving out 2 to 3 pieces of candy per "trick-or-treater" but it wasn't long before we had to cut it back to one piece per person.

Okay, I have a question??? When I was growing up, we had trick-or-treat etiquette.  Is that still around??

As I remember it....you didn't trick-or-treat past 12 or 13 years old.

You went to a house only once...even if they gave out the good stuff...such as homemade cookies or the big candy bars!!!

You said thank-you

I said "person" earlier because I didn't consider some of the people that were trick-or-treating as kids.  One girl (lady) actually had crows feet at her eyes and they weren't made with make up. Actually she was trying to hide them with make-up. I thought that I might have just imagined it, but my neighbor asked me if the age group was up to 40.....He had noticed it too.

One little bumble-bee came to the house three different times......She was sooo cute and I had to laugh the third time she came up the walk.

I went to put a candy bar in one little guys "pumpkin" and he asked me if he could pick out what he wanted.......lol.....I let him do that because there were just a few candy bars left at the bottom of the basket.

The next little guy (they were together) asked me if he could have another candy bar after I had given him one........

My favorite one of the evening was the guy (about 16 ) who walked up to me and just stood and looked me in the eye. (You notice I said "in the eye") He was as tall as me and I am 5'7". He didn't have a bag, bucket or anything to put candy in. I stood there and looked at him and he finally held out his hand and said Trick-or-treat....then I put a cany bar in his hand...he turned and walked off.

Then there were the kids that made it all worth while.....the little boy that reached up for me to pick him up....not sure why...but I did....He was cute.

Cali and Zane came by.......wow.....I wouldn't have recognized Zane....he was a great hobo!!!!! Cali was sleeping...and absolutely adorable!!!!!!

There was the little boy that was carring his little sister around piggy-back because she was tired. She was about to strangle him....lol....but he  wasn't about to put her down.

My neighbor actually went off the porch to the end of the driveway because one little goblin told him he was too tired to walk up to the porch......

It's always fun to give out candy to the kids....but this year sure was different. I am curious to see how next year will be..........

LAST FALL THE "WEST VIRGINIA DIVISION OF CULTURE AND HISTORY" HAD A JURIED EXHIBITION AT THE PARKERSBURG ART CENTER.

ARTISANS AND CRAFTSMAN WHO WANTED TO BE CONSIDERED HAD TO SEND IN PICTURES OF THEIR WORK. EVERYONE WHO ENTERED COULD HAVE TWO ENTRIES.

I SENT PICTURES OF TWO OF MY CREATIONS.

MY FIRST ENTRY WAS A HANDMADE PRIMITIVE DOLL, SHE IS HOLDING HER OWN LITTLE DOLL AND ALSO A SNOWMAN DOLL. THE OTHER ENTRY WAS A HANDMADE RAG QUILT.

MY ENTRY OF THE PRIMITIVE DOLL AND HER FRIENDS WAS ACCEPTED FOR THE EXHIBITION!!!!!

SEVERAL GRANTS WERE AWARDED IN OCTOBER AND ALTHOUGH I DIDN'T "WIN" A GRANT, I WAS PROUD THAT MY LITTLE PRIMITIVE DOLL WAS CHOSEN TO BE JURIED FROM ALL THE ENTRIES.

THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT I HAD EVER ENTERED THE EXHIBITION.

I SAW A PICTURE IN A MAGAZINE OF A PRIMITIVE DOLL THAT I REALLY LIKED, SO I MADE A PATTERN AND THEN MADE MY DOLL.

SHE IS ON DISPLAY AT THE ART CENTER IN PARKERSBURG UNTIL FEBRUARY 8, 2008. ALSO, SHE IS FOR SALE.

FOR YEARS I HAVE MADE DOLLS AND DIFFERENT TYPES OF "FABRIC ART". (I DON'T LIKE THE WORD "CRAFTS".) I LIKE "THINGS' THAT LOOK  OLD AND IF  THEY DON'T, I LIKE TO MAKE THEM LOOK THAT WAY. :)

I HAVE DISCOVERED SOMETHING NEW THAT I LIKE TO DO. THEY ARE CALLED "GRUNGY TAGS".  I CUT THE TAGS FROM HEAVY PAPER, TEA DYE THEM, PLUS THEY ALSO HAVE A CINNAMON, SPICE SMELL. THE TAGS ARE THEN  BAKED AND IRONED AND THEN I GET TO DECORATE THEM ALL BY HAND.  THAT'S THE FUN PART!!!!

CHECK OUT MY PHOTO ALBUMS.

I HAVE AN ALBUM CALLED "SHADES OF YESTERDAY" AND IN THE ALBUM ARE PICTURES OF ONE OF MY DOLLS AND LOTS OF MY TAGS!!!!

Last Friday evening I went with Mike to a club...of course to see "Plan B" perform!!! I spend most weekends in bars....lol....well technically, I do..But Friday evening was the first "Bar Fight" that I have seen.
I think I just sat there with my mouth hanging open. A bunch of "older" men fighting....
It was great!!
I don't think anyone was hurt, but one guy had a huge mouse under his eye and it was turning purple by the end of the evening!
I think all the buckets of beer might have had something to do with the fighting...........hmmm.....
I just don't get it...I drank diet Coke all evening and still had a great time. I even remembered what happend and didn't have a headache the next morning.!!!!!
