Kidding!

Now that I successfully lied to get your attention, I (Nate, by the way. How are you?) have scores of updates for you. Like, probably a year's worth of updates. Actually, I should first check when the last blog was. Just a sec.

Doop dee-dooby doo...

Ok. Holy Hercules! The last blog was Friday, June 15, 2007. There is much to be discussed!!

First of all, we have NEW MEMBERS. Nick and Bryan are no longer with us (still alive though) and have been replaced by Josh and Tyler, respectively. Also, I have been replaced by a robot named Zapatron5 (believe me, he's a much better singer than I was). Is it odd that I'm still referring to Nate as "I", since I just revealed I'm actually a robot named Zapatron5? I hope so.

Lori is now the only original member of the band. She's doing well.

Ok, seriously now. The current BRAND NEW lineup is: Nate, Lori, Josh, and Tyler. Josh on bass and Tyler on guitar. Please welcome them heartily! They are super great.

Although Nick is no longer in the band, he is still making AWESOME art in the form of photography. Please visit his website and support his work! http://www.eccentricphotography.net/

Ok. This next part of the blog is dedicated to OFFICE related band stuff. A few really, REALLY cool things have happened ever since our song "Pam Pong" appeared in my friend Maggie's EXCELLENT documentary Fandomicity.

First, Jenna Fisher, who plays Pam on the show, posted the song on her official MySpace page. Holy crap! It was amazing. I didn't think it would last long (and sure enough, it was changed to something else after about a month) so I took a screen capture! Anyway, thanks for that definitely goes to all the Office fans who bombarded her comments with requests to put the song up. I still remember when my mom (an Office fan herself) came running up to me saying "Why didn't you tell me Pam put your song on her MySpace??" and I had no idea what she was talking about until she showed me. Amazing! So thanks to all the Office fans for that. And Jenna.

As if that wasn't enough! Shortly after that, we were mentioned in ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY! Ok, it was actually just a passing mention at the end of an article about OfficeTally. (And congrats to Tanster on that!) But still! To be mentioned at all in one of the biggest entertainment magazines in the world was pretty freaking fun. Here's the online version of the article!

By this point it was getting ridiculous. Because after that, we got a call from Larry King... ok. Not true. I'm not sure Larry King even knows how to use a phone.

Anyway, that's pretty much it for the Office stuff.

Now for our debut album. It's been over two years in the making. As far as titles go, we are leaning towards Stop, Rock, & Roll. We're currently working on album cover art, as well as... finishing the album. We'll keep you posted on that. At this point we have like 20 new songs that were written after we recorded the album, so by the time it gets released, we'll probably have Album 2 already planned out. I have a feeling next year is going to be intense.

Also, the very first thing we ever recorded, like three years ago, was an EP called "Coulda Been Worse". It got a really great review at PunkOrNothing.com. My favorite line: "Seriously, if these guys aren't big in the next few years, there's something really wrong with the current music industry." Actually, there's an even better line at the very end, but I won't print it here. Yep, it's so awesome, it's unprintable.

We also had a few interviews online, if you want to check them out!
- Remote Access
- Two Cents
- This Is Pop Music (My friend Eric's website; he is made of awesome!)

Anyway, that about wraps it up I guess.
- Nate (aka Zapatron5)

PS - I added about a bajillion new pictures to our MySpace page spanning the entire...span...of the band. So check them out!

Hello once again, MySpacologists!

A good friend of ours, Seat18b, has created an insanely good documentary about fans of NBC's, "The Office". And there's a little music video for our song "Pam Pong" in it. Sweeeeet!!

So if you're a fan of The Office, or a fan of... us... then please watch it!

Our good friends Jack Anthony recently finished a music video for their song "Averill Park". The song is insanely catchy, and the video is intensely sexy. Seriously, how can you go wrong? Please check them and their video out. It will change your life.

Also, if you look carefully in the background of the vid, you can see a red Sweet Diss shirt on the wall. Freakin' awesome!

To our MySpace friends (or, "MySpends"):

We finished all the recording for our debut album a few weeks ago and got the tracks sent off to the Fantabulous Wyatt, who's producing it for us. (Once again, his band is Second Saturday, and they are STUNNING. So check them out.) He says it should be finished and ready for mass consumption within the next three or four months.

Also, there is a new song up today called "Clap Clap Your Hands" (not to be confused with the band Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, who my hipster friends tell me are quite great). It will not be on the album, because it was just written literally like a week ago. Maybe on the next one. Enjoy!

Hello Myspacists!

Our song "Tom Is My Only Friend" will be featured on Single Of The Day, a music blog, tomorrow (March 11th). It's a pretty sweet site, so you should all definitely check it out and see what they have to say about everyone's favorite 5-word band (maybe other than Ted Leo and the Pharmacists).

Here's the page:

Ciao!

It's been a while since we've had an update. The last one was May 4th of last year, actually. It may not seem like that long, but just consider the fact that in that time we lost a planet, the democrats gained control of congress, Google bought YouTube,  Saddam was hanged, Kramer went krazy, Ted Haggard got even creepier, James  Brown died on Christmas Day, and Jim finally told Pam how he felt about her during the Casino Night. What a time!

Anyway, this blog isn't just here to prove we read newspapers and watch The Office. I'm writing this because I thought I'd let you all know why we haven't had any shows for so long and have all but disappeared from the face of the earth.

It is because we are nearly done recording our first "true" album. It's going to have something like 13 or 15 songs and will hopefully be pretty Sweet when it's done. There are just a few more vocal tracks that need recording, and then it will be shipped off to Nashville where The Incredible Wyatt of the band Second Saturday will mix and produce it and make it beautiful. Once it's finished, we'll get back to playing shows and we'll hopefully have a pretty freakin' awesome CD to sell.

To those who knew we were recording a CD all along and are wondering why it's taken us so long, I apologize. It's taken a lot longer than expected to record this thing, but to make sure it gets finished, about a month ago I forced myself to give up meat and pop until the recording is done (no joke!).

Anyway, to sum up: CD will be here soon.

Thanks.

Hello people of Myspace! We have some exciting news for ya'll (that's Southern-speak for "you all").

We're giving away our first album, Coulda Been Worse. Yes, giving it away. As in, 11 high-quality catchy rock songs for FREE. We're super, duper serial.

"But... why??" you may find yourself asking.

Well, the answer is because we're the coolest band in the universe. Seriously though, it's because we are nice people and want as many people to hear our music as humanly possibly, even if it means we go broke in the process.

So go download it, and post us a comment letting us know what you think! We spent an entire summer writing and recording these songs so we hope you like them!

Enough chit-chat! To download our album, just follow this link:

Sweet Diss and the Comebacks download site

Enjoy!!

Your friends,
Nate, Lori, Nick, and Bryan

PS - We're already hard at work writing and demoing songs for our next album, which will be out by the end of this summer. We'll keep you updated!
