I have nothing much to say about last nights gig at p.m.k other than it was slightly confusing that a stack of speakers got the prime real estate of the stage, it could have provided a contact high to 3 square blocks if the doors had been opened and that they sang over tracks instead of with a band. The reggae seemed to make the people happy, so that's a good thing... Click here to see the whole album.

There's a million things to be...you know that there are. (Dont see the player? click here) I had good intentions to get outside today but a surprisingly late night last night and a surprisingly large amount of photos this morning kept me pretty well planted today. I did manage a couple things other than sleep and photo editing but not by much. Last night I headed to pmk for a line-up that wouldn't normally see me leave my couch...but I wanted to support B and get a little Ubung with the rock pix. Im not too moved by the genre powerpop, it seems, so I'll spare you my uneducated and uninterested opinion. Batman & Robin ( Click here for the whole album) ,img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1140/3173474283_b6d6e516c2.jpg"> Mondo Ray ( Click here for the whole album) Miss Chain & the Broken Heels ( Click here for the whole album) ...not sure what got into me, but i got a little graphic. this one is better bigger.

I *finally* saw some music!! It had been well over a month since I saw a show, let alone photographed one so you can believe me when I tell you it felt great to be washed in sound and static and noise for a spell. I caught a folk concert last week at the Bierstindl with a fellow auslander at the helm, a worldy hangdrum session at Triebhaus and then some Berliner's rocking the likes of The Band and Townes Van Zandt at the pmk. I didn't photograph Christine's show but I enjoyed it anyway...shes a very talented song writer. The gig at Triebhaus was a guy called Manu Delago and he plays these amazing "hangdrums" backed by a band consisting of an upright bass and piano player. It was a really unique show filled with very talented musicians. Here's a couple of my favs, but you can click here to see the whole album. In addition to the regular set, Manu also did a series of duets with local Tirolean musicians with interesting interpretations of chirstmas songs. The sitar and digeridoo (spelling??) tune was beautiful. It was a really special concert. I still smell a bit like whiskey and red wine from last nights rock and roll adventure and my voice has that low, raspy sound that comes with the talking too much and saying too little common at noisy rock shows. My friend Matthais' band called Son of a Gun opened for a band called No Horse No Rider and all of this was followed by a DJ set by a taleneted guy from Berlin called LITWINENKO (i think). Albi and Co. were on the turntables in the other room so it was a full night of tunes. As always, you can see the whole album from last nights pmk show here...here a few of my favs

An extra hour for the Post Rock kiddies to drink themselves into oblivion was the extra hour that This Will Destroy You needed for the crowd to be fully marinated and ready for their set. I think they took the stage around 1 something and to say the the volume was deafening is an understatement. It was loud as hell and there was a wall of drunken kids in front of the stage absorbing much of the noise. You can read more about what I 'really' thought over at my 'real' blogHere's a glimpse at the pix

Last night I was lucky to have some friends from the US bring rock to a village in the neighborhood...Adrian Belew and the Slick siblings played a club called Komma. I arrived just in time to hear Eric kick things off and really enjoyed the show. Considering they are still relatively fresh out on this tour, they sounded tight like they'd been on tour for a couple months already. Probably has something to do with the Slick telepathy...Here are just a few of my favorites from the show, but you can click here to see the whole album. Swing by Beana Bern Photography for more rock shots and inspirado...

You might be wondering how much rent I have to pay to PMK seeing as I seem to live there and what I say to that is, "Im not tellin." Actually I don't pay any rent, just cover fees and dues of sorts...for what its worth, I can't imagine life in Innsbruck without that club.... Sunday night saw punk-pop Seattle act The Pharmacy roll into town....Beate was psyched and, though I was tired, I rallied. I said I was going to shoot the standard first 3 and leave. I ended up staying for the whole set. Does that mean I loved it? No, it does mean that it was more interesting than I expected. The picture taking was fun... check the whole album right here.

The floor of PMK turned to quicksand last night by the time EF, a post-rock band from Sweden, played their second song....if you want to read the rest of what I think about last nights show at PMK, visit my "real" blog right here. Check out the rest of the album from last night's date with EF right here.

Better late than never...or at least that's how the story goes. It seems like ages ago but I did shoot a guy named Namosh at the PMK some time ago. I don't have too much to say about the show except I had fun. By the look of the pix, he did too. Check out the whole album here. In more interesting news, I did see a guy named Turner Cody last night. Blasted Bean only brought her shitty 50mm camera thinking she was going low key...As it turned out, all the songs he sang sounded so familiar. Like I had heard them played 1000 times before. He"s a very talented fellow and, if you like the anti-folk folk bit, you'll love him. If you like interesting ballads that take you places, you'll love him. Actually, if you like good music, chances are you'll love him. The pix are not up to my own standards but he was too good not to share them with you anyway... click here for the whole set.

Separate worlds. Separate worlds fused into a single universe of parallels teeming with silence and sound … In this strange landscape soaked with rain and memories, fragments of found art float side by side with images taken from those dark rooms where people are free and the music is loud. It is here, among things both tangible and ephemeral, where for a second split down the middle, it is possible to find the sound that resides in silence and the stillness that dwells in the heart of sound.
