A long overdue update.....
A lot has changed over the last few months and if you have seen us lately you have undoubtedly noticed. For a very brief period of time the band actually started out as a 5 piece and unless you were there from the beginning you probably never knew. Well we have finally made it back to 5 after a long year of rotating members we would like to gratefully welcome Brandon and Ashley into the band. The two of them are great musicians and great people who have helped make Lost Nation whole again.
If you haven't seen them on stage with us yet please come out to a show and say hello. Look for more shows to come this summer and we hope to see you there.

So here it is. We are finally going to play a hometown show! Unless some other act of nature decides to put an end to things, we will be at the Next Door along with our new CD.
We couldn't be more excited about the line-up on this show. This is going to be a "classic" show that we were all used to in the good old days. I pulled some strings and talked Speedfinger into doing one last CR show and I really hope we can all welcome them back in style. I really miss playing with those guys. And of course you can't have a Speedfinger/Lost Nation show in a small crowded bar without Freaklabel, a band of whom we equally respect. I just hope all of us bands can stop gabbing long enough to actually get on stage and play because there will be a lot of catching up to do.
And the good news doesn't stop there. We all get to play together again at the end of August as Speedfinger is bringing us Cream of the Crops II on the 31st. Details on that show will be coming soon.
I hope everyone can make it out to this show. It's been way to long.

Well those of you that read these blogs have probably no doubt asked yourselves why we haven’t put up our new material yet? You have good reason to think that, and we’re with you.
Anything and everything that could have happened to prevent us from putting out this new CD has happened. This whole thing started in January and for a while there we thought we’d never get this new music out. But we’ve finally rounded third and we can see home plate. We are really proud of this new stuff and we definitely think it will have been worth the wait.
In others news we have a new member in Lost Nation who we are really excited to be working with. Duff from the local band Duhkha has now taken over the bass duties for us. We have two great shows lined up in April already and hope that everyone can make it out to see our new line up.

It's been a good couple of months since I have written on behalf of the band so I guess now is a better time than any. We are currently recording some music in Cedar Falls and things are going extremely smooth. The drums are done and we are right smack dab in the middle of laying down some guitar and then on to the vocals. Or should we forget the vocals and just release an instrumental EP, Beastie Boys style??? I don't know I guess you'll have to wait and see.
Our next shows are in February and we just might have to play some of the new stuff. We hope our friends in Des Moines can make it out to the shows as we will play back to back weekends there.
In the meantime keep your eyes out for the release of our new EP.

Change, change and more change. Things have undoubtedly changed around here. First off we have a new face behind the bass. Zach has been a long time friend of ours and luckily for us he has just relocated to CR from Fort Collins, Colorado. He has a never ending list of musical talents and we are more than happy to have him join us.
As far as John goes, we wish him all the best. It's hard to part ways with someone you've known since childhood. He helped us get Lost Nation off the ground and we'll never forget that.
So now we are off to the future. We've got new faces, a few new songs, and a few new shows. Hope to see everyone on the 29th.

Okay,
I guess it's time to fess up. Some of you know, some of you are curious, some of you may not care but I thought I would post an official announcement anyway.
Within the last month and a half our drummer Colin decided it was his time to leave Lost Nation. It was 100% his decision and we respect his decision and will continue to support him in whatever he chooses to do. Everyone in the band has known each other since we were 12 years old and younger so we've definitely got a lot of history together. He will be missed.
The August 3rd show was suppose to be Colin's last show, but it has since been cancelled due to reasons out of our control. We will however be playing on the 18th with the new lineup......

It's been over a month since I have updated the blog section so here is my update. We have some huge shows lined up for this summer and it looks like there still might be a few more coming down the pipeline.
First off, if you live in any part of eastern Iowa you have got to make it out to the Cream of the Crops show in Davenport on May 26th. Our boys from Speedfinger are putting it on and it is going to showcase some of Iowa and Illinois' finest bands.
Then we hit Tornados in support of the Black Stone Cherry and Operator show on June 8th. We will be capping the night off inside the bar.
The following week on June 14th we will be playing with Anew Revolution in West Liberty. This band features members from Slaves on Dope and Unloco. It should be a killer show.
If anyone is thinking at all about going to one of these show we can hook you up with tickets to any one of them, just let us know. You can always contact us here or email us at info@lostnationmusic.com
Peace

Hello
The spring is looking really good so far. We have a bunch of shows booked in April and hope to see you all at one point or another. We have been slowly writing some new material and hope to have some new tunes by summer. Other than that it's the same old, same old. We recently played our 60th show together and I have yet to decide whether that feels like a lot or a little. Anyway I hope we are lucky enough to play 60 more. Take care.

Who's with me???
This weather is really starting to wear on me. I am one of those people who needs to see the sun or else I get really strung out. Thankfully we had some of the best shows ever happen this February despite all the ice, snow, sleet, and whatever else has come our way. It's definitely helped get me through this month.
First off thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who made it out to the Iowa City show, you guys gave us a fresh new breath to ride on for awhile. Also anyone who has braved the elements to come see us, you don't know how much that means to us and all the other musicians we've played with recently.
Next on the list. We are finally playing an all ages show this Friday at Emerald City. I can't tell you the last time we've played a local all ages show, so I hope people can take advantage of this date. With our track record the next one probably won't be for awhile.
Stay warm, stay in touch, and we'll see ya soon.
