OK...after taking a little break over the holidays to rest my body and rehab from injuries, I'm back in training starting today!  Time to bust out the oatmeal, brown rice, turkey, green vegetables, and such.  Back to drilling the press holds and one-arm push-ups.  Hopefully, this year will be a more "injury-free" one.

I'm focusing on achieving my best year in fitness competition yet!  Guess I should lay off or at least cut down on other recreational activities so I can decrease the risk of injury.  So stay off the mountain bike and Rollerblades.  Avoid sliding into 3rd base during softball games.  And wait to learn how to snowboard until next year.  Yikes!  Tough for me to do...but if I want to be the fitness competitor I know I can be, then I'll just have to do it!  (Well, maybe taking my bike out for a leisurely ride along the beach won't be too risky...right?)

Well, I didn't do too bad with my playoff predictions over the weekend.  I was right in 3 out of 4 match-ups!  I chose Seattle over Washington, Carolina over Chicago, and Denver over New England.  But I was wrong about Indianapolis.  Wrong, but not too surprised.  Pittsburgh was really coming on strong at the end of the regular season, and it looks like they carried their momentum into the playoffs, earning a spot in the AFC Championship game.

Anyway, I'm eager to see if my Superbowl prediction holds up.  I picked Denver and Seattle with Seattle winning it all.  Since I'm such a big fan of the KC Chiefs...it's hard for me to pick a division rival like Denver, ya know!

I'm currently in Kansas City because I won a sports fantasy for my brother on the ESPN show "I'd Do Anything".  I got knocked down by roller derby gals, got volleyballs spiked at my head by pro players, and hung on for my life suspended from a helicopter...all so my brother could get his dream of training the Kansas City Chiefs.

Just picked him up from his day with the Chiefs...I'll have to say that the Chiefs players I saw coming out of the training facility were already looking in pretty amazing shape!  I'm so looking forward to this season.  Superbowl XL, here we come!!!
