Figured I'd give an update here as to what's up with me, since getting a hold of some of you on the phone is taxing at best :)
Most of you know I started an internet marketing company back in June of 2007. Unfortunately, I made some poor choices when I did, and I was put in a situation where we had to outspend our revenue due to getting an office, and hiring an employee (The employee was awesome, and very much not the problem).
Anyways, I signed on full time with one of our clients in January, and brought our employee over with us. Another bad decision. It's interesting the differences in working with someone as a contractor, as opposed to working with them as an employee.
As a contractor, we focused primarily on marketing strategy. Once I took over the web department as a full time employee, our focus became very customer service heavy, and we lost a lot of momentum. We also were in a position where we had about 10 times as much work, and not the proper staffing to cover it. (If the particular employer is reading this, I'm sure they are continuing to disagree even now, but such is life).
So I've re-launched my own service, working from home, as
72Kilowatts. There, we will be providing website design, product photography, and in depth programming services on an outsourced basis.
So that's my professional life in a nutshell for the last year. By the way, we're happy to pay referral fees for new business, so if you know anyone that needs our services, please let me know.
