Thanks so much everyone for coming to The End Of The World (or, "Where the Sidewalk Ends", as Andrew calls it). It was a blast!
Except maybe for that awkward moment when we asked you if we should play the next song without, you know, telling you what it was... But even that was existentially refreshing, right?
We're going to book as many cover free shows as possible from here on out. Because in Joe Biden's words, "That's bullshit."
P.S. - Next time wear your bike helmets kids.

We're going to need another band (or two!) to play with us on Saturday, August 23rd at The Bar at the End of the World in Charlestown. If your band is looking for a gig on short notice, please drop us a line so we can make something happen. You would be playing a full set, not just a 35 minute opening act time slot, so if you were looking to explore your new Prog-rock direction and spread your wings a bit, this could be the chance you've been waiting for. Hope to hear from you soon!

The lyrics to every song we have performed live have been added over at Vodamusic.com. About half of these, I didn't know at all until Andrew posted them this morning. I'm usually too busy trying to not screw up my guitar part to pay attention to the lyrics, so the only ones I really know are the songs we have recorded. It's been an ongoing irrational fear of mine that one day someone would ask me something like, "So, what's with the anti-Semitic lyrics?" ... Of course, the lyrics have turned out to contain no such hateful messages. A little rabble rousing, a little social criticism, yes. But nothing too disturbing. Phew! A favorite of mine is Rule 21, which features the great line, "Bring me the head of Barry Bonds." Rule 21 in this case refers to the MLB rule dealing with cheating, bribery, and gambling in baseball, not the rarely-invoked Senate rule. "Harvard Square is over. Don't you fucking call me Moonlight Graham. Williamsburg is over. It was over before it began," is from the song, Call Me Doctor, which we have closed every show with. [Everyone thinks the song is called 'Harvard Square is Over.' - Andrew] Yeah, I know, I feel bad for Charlie's Kitchen too... -Jeff

Thanks to everyone who came to our show at the Abbey Lounge on December 7th. It meant so much to us that there were so many people there to see us; we could feel your enthusiasm from up on the stage, and it really made the night special. We're gonna work on some new stuff for a few weeks, and we'll be back out there again early in the new year. January, we hope. We hope to see you all again very soon. Thanks also to the Hangman's Alphabet, The Measuremen, and Bryan McPherson, who were all stand up guys and put on some great performances. There had been a request from the house for a clarification about what "Rule 21" refers to. Here it is. As always, we appreciate your support.

Voda is playing a show on this coming Friday, December 7. We're playing at the Abbey Lounge, located at 3 Beacon Street in Somerville, Massachusetts. It's just outside of Inman Square. The show is 21+, and admission is $8. We will be the headlining act, which is a very exciting moment for us. It's a late night, but if you could make it, it would mean a great deal to all of us in the band. For a map to the Abbey Lounge, and for public transportation information, click here. The full schedule for the evening is as follows: We hope to see everyone there!

Thanks to everyone who came to see our show at the Abbey Lounge last weekend. It means a lot to us to have so many people there supporting us and for making the gig go much better than we could possibly have imagined. Thanks also to Foreign Power and Carbonite, who put on great shows in their own right.
We look forward to seeing you all again very soon. There are plenty more Voda goings-on planned over the coming weeks and into the new year.

Voda is looking to play a gig at the All Asia in Cambridge, Mass. The way the scheduling works is that you book a three-hour block of time in which to setup, play, and take down your gear. What you do during this block of time is up to you. We don't have enough material to play a three hour show. But we could play a one hour show, which , with setup and strike, would amount to 90 minutes or so. We'd need someone else to play the remainder of the block. So, if you're a local band looking to split a gig with us, drop us a line. It doesn't matter how you sound, we'd like to share the stage with you. Also, if you're looking for an opening act for your own gigs, we're available for that, too.
