Speed dating is booming in New York and becoming more popular in the Bay Area as the best new way to meet people. Why?
First impressions mean a lot. Ever been on a date when you DIDN'T know how well it was going after a few minutes, good or bad? Ever been stuck talking to someone at a party for way too long, wishing you could meet someone else? Ever met someone you really liked, but weren't sure how to hook up? Dread the awkward process of finding out whether someone is interested in you, or letting someone know you are not interested? Hate old dates having your contact information? Speed dating avoids all these pitfalls!
With speed dating, you just reserve a spot and show, while we organize and rotate the participants every 7 minutes, so that you will spend 7 minutes' time talking to 10 potential dates. Rather than spend a night out on a date with one person, meet 10 people in an hour and a half, and have more chance of meeting someone you like, without the hassle of going on ten full length dates!
When your brief "date" is over, you will mark your secret ballot to let us know if you want to meet the person you just met again. If they marked the same for you, we will put you in contact with each other. No dealing with it face to face!

The first two events will be held on Wednesday, May 31 and Thursday, June 1 at Epic Arts in Berkeley, across the street from the Ashby BART station. These two events will be for single people seeking people of the opposite sex. However, please contact us at itbeatsdating@yahoo.com if you would like to be notified of future events for same sex and/or polyamorous speed dating events.
This event costs $20 (more reasonably priced than similar events). Upon approval of your information, you must pay via Paypal and show ID at the event, to ensure safety and security.
This event raises funds for the Trashistan Burningman theme camp and does not represent any outside dating service!
