Ohhh my goodness!! I just checked out my little map thingy on my page and it tells me what parts of the world my views are coming from... How freakin cool.... Makes me want to travel... !!!!!!!!!
Hope you all are doing well... I'm busy still workin on makin my neck feel better and tryna earn a dolla. Aren't we all??
AAAND the Steelers did a pretty awesome thing this past weekend. I'm not a Steeler crazy girl, but I can certainly appreciate a good game... I miss those days!! I played volleyball all my life - from 4th grade till my senior year in college. From 4-12, I played for championship teams. There's NO better feeling in the WORLD than to win a game like the one the Steelers won. My heart felt so happy afterwards. I MISS THOSE DAYS!!!!!!!
Have a safe Thursday, everyone...
Love you, Jody

So, it's Sunday night... I'm hangin ten with my awesome grandma, watchin a Hallmark movie and recapping my weekend...
I'm not really much for goin out. I'm not a big drinker and I'm not a Steeler fan, so I'm pretty much NOT a true Pittsburgher, but somehow, some way, I still end up in these places... not by choice, really...
Anyways... being a girl in a bar has its pros and cons... mostly cons. When I was younger... singler... and more apt to get drunk on the weekend, I LOVED bein in the bar. My friend Kristin and I were like salt n pepper... Not the pop stars.... the condiments.
She was about my height, blonde and built like a brick shit house. (That's a good thing.) We NEVER paid for a drink, never paid for a concert ticket and never had a dull moment. Now that we're old... we're still like salt n pepper (blonde n brunette, incase you didn't catch on to that), but she's preggers and I'm... not. LOL I'm old, broken and OVER the party scene.
When I'm brought into this environment, I've got to mentally prepare myself for the horrors that be... Mainly drunk dudes who feel like we are SUPPOSED to talk to them... because they're drunk, I guess, right?? I know that when I'm drunk, I feel more entitled, for sure. I think that complete strangers should pay attention to everything I say and do. I think everyone should talk to me and take my shit, too. They should laugh at all of my jokes, humor me and let me stare at their boobies. (Sarcasm.)
Fellas, when you are out at a bar... Tip 1 from the Jode would be: Don't blatantly oogle a girl. If she see's you staring at her ass, legs or chest like you've never seen a woman before, she's going to think you're a creep. Because you are.
Tip 2: Don't approach her by putting your HANDS ON HER. You don't know her. You haven't earned the right to touch, tap, poke, or hug her. It's inappropriate, inconsiderate and rude. Any girl who gives in to that crap is probably NOT worth your time.
Tip 3: Most girls have babysat before. AKA, they've earned MONEY to care for CHILDREN... Don't be a child. DON'T to get shitfaced. Drink to get buzzed if you HAVE to, but when you're drooling and tripping over your feet while you're standing still, you're not attractive. You won't get past a "hello." I promise.
Tip 4: STEP BACK!!! She doesn't mind talking to you... and she knows it's loud in the bar, but HONESTLY!!! If she has to back up onto an elevated platform and then behind a table, you're obviously too close. Your breath is probably hot and no one wants to smell that. Not even you. I guarantee it.
Tip 5: Don't tuck in your shirt. I don't think this needs an explanation.
Tip 6: Don't tell her about your condo in South Side. First of all, if she were the kind of girl that might be impressed by such a statement, a condo in South Side isn't all that impressive. Seriously. Think before you speak. Maybe this should be Tip 1. Whatever.
Tip 7: Don't insist on ANYTHING. If she says "no," it's "no." If she says "no" and it's NOT "no," she'll come find you later... She will. Don't be annoying.
Tip 8: When she says she has a boyfriend, yes, we know, chances are she doesn't. . . BUT if she tells you she's taken, she's NOT INTERESTED!! Face it and MOVE ON!! Don't waste your time trying to convince her to leave him... because "he" doesn't exist. Stupid!!
Tip 9: Don't let your annoying friend take over conversation. Actually, don't even let him speak. If he is actually your friend, what does that tell us?? The company you keep reflects YOU...
And finally, Tip 10: If you do these things, and a girl STILL goes home with you, make sure you give her my number so that I can tear her a new one for making girls look like we actually LIKE men like you.
Gosh, I need a drink. Thank you.
Bye :)

CNN was on tonight...
I'm not going to pretend like I'm worldly and smart and actually KNOW what's going on or what HAS gone on in other countries... I DO know, though, that I saw so many bloody children on TV tonight. It made me sad, sick and then ANGRY. I was seriously furious. How the HELL can people BLOW UP CHILDREN?!!?!!!!!! I don't care what the scenario is... It's so horrible to see. Everyone should have to watch. All I could think of were the kiddos that I love and I couldn't BARE the thought of them with even a broken bone, let alone in the bloody aftermath of what these children were being pulled from. It was so awful... I can't BELIEVE what I saw...
OH, if you're going to respond to this with, "THOSE KIDS DESERVE TO DIE - THEY'RE GOING TO TERRORIZE THE NEIGHBORHOOD" - Don't even bother. What happens in those countries is terrible... I wish everyone could just LOVE.

Hi all... hope you had an exceptional Halloween weekend!:) I knows I did!! I spent Halloween night with Miss Adrianna and her wonderful Boo, Adam... and some other greats of the Burgh. (I was really excited about callin her Boo "Boo"... because this is my Halloween Blog.) Anyways!! I thought I'd share some photos with the masses -- Aiderz and I were babydolls, as per her request. But it was a suite idea -- We decided we looked more like creepy little girls than anything else, but that's pretty much what dolls are, right? Creepy miniature versions of humans... with too much hair and extra long lashes. Yeah, so -- Here goes some fo-doez. You might see some familiar faces in these... maybe not. There were some excellent costumes this year... My favorites being a tie between Michael Jackson (From Thriller) and The Swedish Chef (Muppets) -- I'll post photos of both and you tell me what you think lol... I seriously couldn't contain myself when I saw either of them. Here we are... in all of our creepy babydoll awesomeness. :)

I told you MJ was the shiznat. I really couldn't contain myself. My one wish in life has always been to see Michael Jackson live. I think this may have fulfilled it. Now, let us move on to ending world hunger. (Number 2 on my wish list...)

If there's a random animal, you better believe the Jode will find it... and love it to pieces. I forget this little guy's name... but I loved him.
This is Adam. He's one of my favorite people. Maaddd props to Frankenstein, too... He was "wid it." A PACMAN GOOBER!!!!!!!!!!
AAAAAND here's what you've all been waiting for... The Swedish Chef. Why am I dressed like that, you ask?? Because that was Halloween night number two... I had to wear that to work a promotion and I wanted to shoot myself, BUT -- It was all worth it to get a shot with that man. Oh gosh. I need to grow up. He's not even THE REAL SWEDISH CHEF!!!!!!!!!!!! Anywho, loves... I truly hope you all embraced the Een we call Hallow... It's the only day you can escape YOU... and be someone else... without anyone thinking twice. Until next time... XO
PS - I realize the above photo is really conceited... But my face didn't look shiny... and it made me smile.

Hi all...
I'm writing to you from the comfort of my own bed... propped up on my special neck pillow... trying to ignore the pain away... The pain from a mildly successful trip to Philadelphia by myself this weekend.
I drove to the city of 'Brotherly Love' to see some friends... My dear Blake Lewis (he was on American Idol for all you doofuses - and he's superbular) had a show at the North Star Bar in Central Phila. I spent the weekend in that fine town, spending the first night with my pal Ashley, who lives about 40 mins from the venue...
Needless to say, I arrived there safely... in one piece... and got to experience, first hand, the little eatery called "SaladWorks," which, if you've never been, you NEED to go. It's incredible how they add JUST the right amount of dressing, bacon, tomatoes, cheese and croutons. :) Every bite was more satisfying than the last and I could have eaten it for days... Anyways... Ashley and I ate our salads, went home and baked some brownies and cookies for hungry boys and hung out with some of her old friends for the evening...
Everything was too perfect... I woke up, got to enjoy one of Ashley's childhood favorite breakfast masterpieces - Scrambled eggs, toast and "Circle Meaties," AKA pork roll. It tasted just like bacon. I talked about bacon twice already... I'll be brining it up again in a minute.
Anywho, breakfast was delish and Ashley is an amazing host. I want her to host sleepover parties at my joint. Love you, Ash!! XO
I left Ashley's around 3pm to go see Blake & Co. downtown... I used a handy dandy Magellan to get me there. Those things work wonders. I swear they've had to have saved so many lives. Without that thing, I may have strangled myself this weekend. Anyways... I got into town in about 40 minutes, turned down the street the bar was on... found the bar... circled around the block one time... As I was circling the 2nd time to get a parking spot, I stopped at the corner to turn left. Awaiting oncoming traffic, I hear tires skid. I look up into my rear view mirror only to see a giant maroon SUV coming at me full force. BAM! There goes Jody.
My car went forward a few good feet... I then pulled over, as did she. For the distance that my car traveled, and the pain that I was instantly feeling all through my body, the damage to both cars was minimal.
*Sidenote The weird thing is, I envisioned this happening on my way there. I always get weird premonitions and this was just another one. I'm a creep, I know... but I certainly wasn't surprised that it had happened.
Anyways, the woman stepped out of her car, as did I - She said many things... First she said "Woooh!! Ain't we lucky!?" I was like "Uh..." -- I guess she was lucky -- She wasn't going to be spending the next year in rehab for whiplash... I, on the other hand, felt very UNlucky, as party time with Blake was just a building away and I was standing in the middle of the street with a throbbing body.
So, the woman proceeded to tell me that the damage to my car wasn't "that bad" and that she didn't have a license, so she had to go pick up her mom at the church before I called the police......... Riiiiiiiiiiight. So I obviously told her "No," and she insisted that she will go and get here mom and leave her license with me...
Wait...? License?? I thought she didn't have one!!?? This is gettin weird...
She goes on to tell me that she has one, but it was expired and that if the police come, they are going to take her car from her mom. (I'm assuming because it is not registered.) So, I smelled serious trouble. She asked to use my phone to call her mom... She dialed her mama in my phone... and had no answer. She handed me my phone back, told me she was going to pull her car over to the side of the road... I stepped aside, she backed up... and SLAMMED ON THE GAS DOWN A ONE WAY STREET!!! SHE DROVE AWAY!!!!! WHAT!!!?!?!?! YES!!!!
I had witnesses, so all was cool when the "bacon" arrived. They were great cops... They took the report and even let me hug them.
Dudes... I just needed a hug.
We gave them what we remembered the license plate was and the phone number that was now saved in my phone...
In the meantime, Blake is calling asking if I'm close - "Closer than you think," I said... lol... Ten minutes later, I pulled into the venue lot to be greeted by his clueless, smiling face. Ohhhhhhh that girl done ruined my day. I filled him in on the drama and it took me a good 3 hours or so to feel human again. I was so numb to everything around me. All I wanted was a bed... and my special pillow. haha...
As the night went on, things obviously got better... his show was fantastic and the bar employees made me feel so at home. They got me ice for my back and treated us to a glass of wine. They said it looked like I needed it... Boy were they right... Red wine is the perfect remedy for fresh aches and pains. If all else fails, become an alcoholic.
Guys, I don't know what will come out of this hit 'n run... but I do feel super fortunate that A.) I still have my phone... because she could have easily sped off with it and B.) That I didn't get tossed through the window, or thrown into another vehicle. ... Maybe reverse those... I think B. is more important than A.
As I said, the damage to my car is minimal - as far as I can tell, it's just cosmetic, but I will have someone coming out from my insurance company to look at it this week. Also, thank God for insurance. My medical bills will be taken care of and I will be seeing a great doctor for rehab type things. I went today as soon as I got into town and they had me on a machine for 2 hours to loosen me up. My whole body is a tense ball of muscle. My neck feels like it's made out of rubber bands, my lower back is screwed on both sides - my ankles, my wrists, my elbows, my knees, my arms... Basically every part of me is throbbing. I took a good hit, but as I said... I'm a lucky mo-fo. I came home today and I'm thankful I'm friggin alive.
Don't hit 'n run, people. It's effin rude.
And if you're going to, don't leave your mom's number in the person you hit's cell phone.
Stoopid.
xo <3
PS - Hanson was here in Pittsburgh tonight. As most of you know, I have been one of the biggest Hanson fans since 97... Biggest and probably oldest. I couldn't go to the show because I am laid up like a sick pup...
A great friend of mine that works at the venue they played at had Taylor Hanson call me tonight... I about shit myself.
I've met the Hanson boys many times... but a phone call that says "Hi Jody this is Taylor Hanson" at 2:30 AM really makes my toes tingle with glee. =)
That really brightened my day.. night.

Current mood: sad
=( Hey, youz...
I'm layin here at 5:30am... I haven't fallen asleep yet. I have a lot to do tomorrow. Gah...
Last night, my dog started staggering... then really falling... then throwing up...
All of a sudden she was really old and really sick.
I called the emergency vet and they said they'd take her... They said it could possibly be "Vestibular Disease" - Which can be caused by a tumor in older dogs. If it's not caused by a tumor, there are other possibilities... but the doctor seems to think it's a tumor. If that's the case, an MRI is $1,500. If she should get an MRI, there is only one kind of tumor that could be removed... and if it were removed, it will grow back.
In other words, if it's a tumor, there's no helping her. :(
I am so sad. It's so hard to watch her walk and fall over every 2 steps. She just looks at you for help... Can't help her this time.
I can't fall asleep. I keep thinkin about her. =(
Hug your pets, people...

...but then iMovie shut down on me with no hopes of retrieving what I had lost... It made me sad...
and mad...
so I didn't try again... The point of my video would have been this: I, Jody Gayle, will be attending a wonderful thing this Friday, October 10th in Pittsburgh. It will be at Diesel in the South Side, you Pittsburghers -- I know you know where it is. We're raising money for a Haitian orphanage from 6-8:30pm. It is all ages and I would be so overjoyed to see you there. Seriously. The reason I am so adamant about this is because the girls who run the orphanage are childhood friends of my dear friends' Adrianna, Ali and Sarah.
They have saved so many lives... and would like to save more. PLEASE COME!! I'm begging, yes. You won't see me do this for too much of anything else. PLEASE come spend your happy hour with us.
x's and o's... Jody PS - I guarantee hott girls will be there, or your money back. Sike, no money back... but there will be hott girls. So, come share your cash flow. xo - Email me for more details, or see flyer in my photos. :) Pittsburgh, you may stop reading here... -------------------------PHILLY!! (This means you, Emily "I fell off the face of the earth" Roland!!) I'm gonna be dere early Saturday mornin!! Goin to see Blake Lewis at North Star Bar on Sunday and you should, too. =) Tell me, my Philly friends, where will YOU be??? :)

So...
A couple of weeks ago, there was a fatal shooting just blocks from the home I grew up in. (Yeah, I'm hood.) -- About 3 days ago, I read in the paper that there was a Warrant for the arrest of an 18 year old man...er boy. Let me rewind a minute...
For the last, oh... 15 years or so, my neighborhood has been goin down the shitter. As the elderly neighbors pass on, their homes go Section 8. As some of you may know, there is a very slim chance that a Section 8 family is going to move in and actually take care of the home, their children, their dog, YOUR home, YOUR children, YOUR dog, etc. The "neighborhood" feel is long gone - All you can really do now is hold on to the good people and then together, watch the buildings around you burn down, get bull-dozed, or get wrapped in "CAUTION" tape. It's no joke. It sucks.
I would say about 10 years ago, a family moved in across the street from us. There were 3 little boys... one a toddler in diapers, the other two about 7 or 8... THe dad was around for about a year... We'd see him throw a football around with them... sometimes. Then all of a sudden, he was gone. Totally out of the picture. You'd hardly see the mom, but you'd hear her screaming at the kids randomly throughout the day... or night... if she was actually in the house.
I can't count the times I believe those children tucked themselves in at night. There was always a shady gathering of young folk on the porch (in their 20s) and there was a marijuana plant on the roof... You couldn't see it from the ground, but I could see it from my parent's bedroom window.
Every time I went outside, I'd play with the kids... I'd talk to them. It's what I do. I'd give them candy, drinks... whatever I had to share, I'd share. My heart ached for them.
We watched them grow up and slowly get themselves into trouble here and there... They actually robbed my aunt's house, but I don't think they knew we were related, as there was always a "respect" thing there. We were good to them, so they were good to us. They had so much potential to be really good kids.
They moved out a few years ago and I would see them walking the streets... THey were hesitant to say "hi," as was I. I was never sure if they'd remember me. And I'll admit... Whether they knew they robbed my aunt's house or not, I was still a bit pissed about it... So our relationship with the kids eventually tapered off... but I think of them every time I look at that jacked up house that holds so many painful memories for them... (I actually got to go into the house when the new people bought it. There were locks on the OUTSIDE of the bedroom doors. She must have locked them in their rooms while she wasn't home... Terrible.)
Back to the shooting... there is now a warrant out for the one brother's arrest. I watched him grow up into a big, broken, murderer. My heart hurts... I saw his photo in the paper and he looks SO EVIL. He's not even mean... He's hurt, angry and broken.
I blame his parents... Those kids weren't born that way.
I'm sad. :(
