First of all before we get started, we'd like to thank everyone for supporting the release "Cheaters" so far. And welcome to 2009. (We had to recover our password for this account as it got lost when Jorun's laptop got wiped a few months back.. but we are back!)
First Words is currently working on their next project (as of right now, untitled) but nonetheless,it's in the works and official production and vocal recording will begin on March break. FW has just finished doing the tail end of the El Da Sensei tour with Ghettosocks, Timbuktu, Fresh Kils and DJ Feow from Poland. You will be able to catch First Words again soon when we update our show scheduele. So far what we have booked is DJ Jorun will be playing in British Columbia in August (more details to come) as well as All City in Halifax (check Jorun's myspace for show dates) and Monark is still due for a release party in Halifax which will most likely be with First Words. Stay tuned for that.
And of course, with every new FW release, there will be a music video produced by Jorun. Also in the works is the next "MC's not included" album with Sean One & Jorun Bombay.

Our Tour begins July 11th. Look for us and request to your local promoters that we come to your town. We will be in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in the beginning leg of our tour and will be joined by Backburner and hopefully bump into Sixtoo & Skracth Bastid along the journey.

It's with our deepest regret to announce that our DJ Hurrikain Annie has passed away.

Our deepest condolences to her family and especially to her 8 year old son Tyson.

This is a very sad day for us. I don't even know what to say at this point.

 

Rest in peace Annie. You were our JMJ.

Remember this for all time : When Jorun Bombay says his release is going to come out, it ALWAYS does! We have the vinyl test pressings in our possession (which were mastered in NYC) and they sound absolutely BOOMIN'! The EP features Sean One, STV, Above, Ghettosocks, Monark, DJ Hurrikain Annie and Jorun Bombay on the production. 

Stay tuned. The time is very very near. Be on the lookout also for the music video for the song "Joint" from "The Anti-Mixtape Movement" which will drop soon. And yes... it WILL come out. When dead-beats says it will come out... it has the action to back it up.

Welcome to the First Words myspace page. Thanks to everyone for checking us out.

We have a new album completed and ready to release soon. Jorun Bombay is currently mixing it down and putting the final touches on it with DJ Hurrikain Annie (from Chicago). The album will contain guest appearances by Buck 65, Ghettosocks, Monark, Mick D, Locdog & Lamar as well as the core of First Words (Jorun/Sean One/Above/STV)

Before the album drops, we have an E.P. dropping soon. If you remember back in 05, Jorun & Sean One dropped an E.P. called Jorun/Sean Ones way EP on 7"... well, same idea.

The 4 song vinyl EP will be dropped very soon to promote the full length album. The 4 song E.P. is called "THE ANTI-MIXTAPE MOVEMENT".

Now, before anyone has the chance to get defensive about this statement, let us first say this : If you are a mixtape MC who drops mixtapes in the maritimes.. all good. We have nothing against you. Do your thing. First Words have set a standard for ourselves where we will not fall into the category of being a mixtape MC. It is (to us) a generic title that begs to settle for less & that is not us by any means. We are simply emphasizing a huge seperation line in what 'we' do versus what everyone else is doing. We would much rather drop full albums and vinyl that we produce ourselves instead of establishing ourselves through mixtapes with 100 rap guest appearances, other peoples industry dance-club beats... and no DJ's. (not thats there's anything wrong with it.. it's just not a challenge to us at this point)

So the equasion goes like this :

 

Them = Mixtape

Us = Albums & Vinyl

 

Also, the First Words album itself has an entirely different title. (which will be revealed soon) The EP is only a drum roll to the main event. Stay tuned!

(p.s. If we ever do drop a mixtape, it will be a DJ mix w/ records mixed & cut up by either Jorun or STV... no mixtape rappers on it tho. We like to save our rappers for our albums.)
