Issue 4 of Bad Planet with a delightful cover by that Bradstreet guy hit stands two solid weeks ago now.
I gotta say it's the best issue yet from a quality standpoint. We finally got some of our color issues worked out and the stuff in this issue is absolutely beautiful. The paper rocks, the artwork is top notch (Thank you Jim Daly), and the story is rocking and socking. PLEASE let us know what you think. And if you can't because you don't have it yet then by all means get it, order it, find it, don't wait for the trade! Ask your retailer to reorder it if it's not in stock. You won't be sorry.

Written by Tom Jane and Steve Niles. Artwork by James Daly and Tim Bradstreet. Color by Goleash.

We welcome you to discuss this issue of Bad Planet - here at the RAW Forum.

Solicitation Copy -

Story by STEVE NILES & THOMAS JANE
Art by JIM DALY & TIM BRADSTREET
Cover by MARK SCHULTZ

The fearsome, loathsome DeathSpiders-- continue their sickening carnal rampage over the ravaged earth – this time in heart-thumping, mind-numbing SUPER-TERROR 3-D! The Phaedon Warrior makes his way to Earth, and Veronica Falcon thinks he may hold the key to stopping the horrific Deathspiders--. But will the escaped alien convict want to lend a hand? Or is he here to revel in the destruction? PLUS no less than 14 pages of FULL COLOR 3D done by the MASTER of STEREOSCOPIC imaging, RAY ZONE! SUPER-TERROR 3-D GLASSES included!

We at RAW got the coolest email From Mark Schultz yesterday. Mark is the cover artist for issue 3, and if you've been living in a vacuum for the last 25 years, he's the creator of "Xenoxoic Tales", and Cadillac's And Dinosaurs". Frank Frazetta, Al Williamson, Wally Wood . . . Schultz carries the torch of classic illustration like no one else. A student of the game, a master of the craft.

Excerpt from Mark's email -
- "Just received my comps of BP3 and want to pass on my congratulations to
all involved. It is an honor and a joy to be part of a comic that made
me step back and say "Now THAT is what comics are SUPPOSED to be all
about!"

Now THAT really made our day. Thanks a TON, Mark.

Please be sure to check out this amazing issue of Bad Planet and see what all the fuss is about.
And if you haven't already, it's still not even close to too late to pick up issue's 1 and 2, equally bitching, and a STEAL at cover price!

Please feel free to discuss this topic at the all new RAW forums ---> BAD PLANET issue 3 Forum Thread

Thanks all.

September 12, 2007 - Wednesday
A few weeks back we broke ground and opened the doors on the new revamped RAW website. This week brings the launch of the all new RAW forums. The RAW forum is also the home of the Thomas Jane, and Tim Bradstreet forums. We'd LOVE to have you join us.

The RAW forums will be your one stop to find out what's going on with everything RAW.
From Bad Planet, to Alien Pig Farm 3000, to Tom's newest film (he's also directing), "DARK COUNTRY".

This new web presence is just the tip of the iceburg. We have some really cool projects in the works, and the site and forum will be THE place to discover the crazy-cool stuff we have in store for you all. It's one-stop information gathering.

The site is still a work in progress so bear with us as we continue to build it up.
In the meantime, please come join us at the RAW FORUM
And don't forget ------> Official RAW Entertainment website
September 4, 2007 - Tuesday
We're still adding content but we fired off the re-launch of the Official RAW website on Labor Day. We'll be adding tons of more content on the comic pages as well as finishing contruction on the film pages in the coming weeks. We will also be adding a message board as soon as we work out the kinks. The message board is a great way for fans to touch base and interact with the creative forces behind RAW, discuss the books, movies, and other craziness we're working on.

There will be an announcement when the message board launches. And yes, Tom Jane himself will be stopping in from time to time to answer questions or to simply pester folks! The rest of the crew will have a presence as well, from Bad Planet penciler James Daly, to Alien Pig Farm 3000 writer Todd Farmer. The gang will be on hand so we hope to see you show up in the house!

Please go check out our new home on the web!

August 9, 2007 - Thursday
Bad Planet issues 1 and 2 are in stores. We hope you check them out.
After a lengthy hiatus (details in the blog below) we're finally back. We've reissued issue 1 (which was originally released in December of '05) on the lip smackinest paper I've seen, far superior to the original release, and double shipped it with issue 2, sporting a DELICIOUS Bernie Wrightson cover. 2 also features the work of new series artist James Daly. Two issues of Bad Planet in one week. Please let us know what you think. After the release of issue 3 in September the book ships every 5 weeks. Please don't overlook this nifty trip into the rusted roots of honest to God Sci-Fi. It's gonna be quite a ride!

First week of September will see 3, in SUPERTERROR 3D (Glasses included!). Cover by Mark Schultz, 3D designed and mastered by Ray 3D Zone. This thing will blow yer mind. If you can't find a copy at your local, then batter your retailer to re-order.

Thanks - Tom, Steve, and Tim.

July 30, 2007 - Monday
It's been a long hiatus but we're finally back with Bad Planet. Late in 2005, after launching the series with issue 1 we lost our second penciler due to illness. Rather than find another penciler to maintain our shipping schedules we decided to stick with Lewis LaRosa and schedules be DAMNED!

Unfortunately that didn't work out so well for us. LaRosa endured a long recovery and in the end decided against returning (he's left comics for the present).

So there we were, after almost 8 months and we had no penciler. During that time we focused on other projects, Jane went off to London to film "The Mutant Chronicles", Niles busied himself with his various multitude of projects, and I (Bradstreet) dove back into my cover work full time. After it was certain Lewis would not return we began the process of finding a new penciler to take over the reigns. This penciler would have to be DAMN good to pick up where LaRosa left off, this penciler would have to be PROFESSIONAL and maintain a schedule, and most importantly we'd have to like him ;) This was no easy task as we bounced names off of each other for another few months. Good people are hard to find, they are either busy (naturally), or they are under contract to one of the bigs. Finally last October our search ended at the Dallas Comicon.

Enter James Daly III. I've known Jim for years since he was a young lad trying to break into the business. He's VERY talented and we caught him at the right time. After spending the last bunch of years doing concept work for various big time Game companies Jimbo was finally ready to kiss off the safe world of salaries and insurance and jump back into the freelance fray. And are we glad he did! Daly literally dove into the project completing several LaRosa pages that were left unfinished, then bridged the gap between himself and LaRosa by forsaking his own style for the heavy shadows and texture work began by LaRosa and myself. LaRosa had completed 9 full pages and two patrtial pages of issue 2 before he left us. So Daly picked up the slack and never looked back.

So what does all this mean? It means, kind people, that Bad Planet is officially re-launching in July with a re-release of issue 1 featuring a new cover by Daly and me. Also shipping in July will be Bad Planet 2 (cover by BERNIE WRIGHTSON!). That's right, we're throwing the vaunted "double ship" at you. August will see the release of issue 3 (cover by MARK SCHULTZ), the 3-D issue (with 3-D treatment by the immortal, the God-like, RAY ZONE). We're doing everything in our power to see that we have copies of issue 3, pre-release at our RAW Studios booth at the San Diego Comicon. September will see the release of issue 4 (cover by me), and in October we unleash issue 5 (cover by Michael W. Kaluta) with a special 14 page flashback "Convict" origin by Mr. DAVE KENDALL! And the final chapter for now, issue 6 (cover by DAVE STEVENS) will crashland into a comic shop near you in November.

We're way ahead of schedule. Daly is working on the last issue now so with any luck this thing is going to ship on time, small speedbumps not withstanding ;)

We apologize for the delay (We hope you understand), and hope you will join us for the thrilling spectacle that IS Bad Planet! Click the thumbnail below for a sneak peek at what Daly and I have in store for you. Cheers - Tim
