An original painting by Kevin Geil is being auctioned off as part of the 2009 KHYI Celebrity Charity Auction. The Range has selected a variety of musicians and KHYI personalities to donate original paintings for the cause. All proceeds go to the Collin County Children's Advocacy Center. The mission of Collin County Children's Advocacy Center is to identify, protect and improve the lives of abused and neglected Collin County children. CCCAC works together with a multi-disciplinary team to investigate, treat, and prosecute child abuse cases within Collin County in addition to providing a safe place for children to tell their stories and begin to heal.

A couple great show went down this past week! Our Second time playing Loose Wheels in Dennison turned out to be a great show and looks like it might become a regular stop in the Two Tons rotation.  With it being an outdoor venue (in foul weather they do move inside) they can pack a huge crowd out there.  It was a pleasure to play with our friends from shooting doubles and look forward to the next time.

The Iron Horse Pub was a blast!  If you ever make it up that way tell Denny, his wonderful clientele and awesome bar staff we said hi and have them make you a pint of Guinness with a clover drawn in the head , its just too cool. Our first trip ever to Wichita Falls will not be our last and you can count on that!

On to this week:

Friday We will be playing one of our favorite little bars in Texas, Hanks Texas Grill in Mckinney!  If you live in the great DFW or just want to take a road trip its worth every bit of the drive! They have such great bar staff, good food, pretty women, a hotel next door what more can a person want right?

This Tuesday August 4 our interview on GAC will air some time after 8pm central and again at midnight during the broadcast of Championship Bull riding! and make sure you keep your eyes pealed for the San Antiono PBR to  later on in the year because you will get to see our very own Kevin sing the national anthem!

Ok we are less than 3 weeks away from "Not That Lucky" dropping and about 4 days away from the single hitting the radio! The Boys down at KNBT New Braunfels have already started playing the first Single HOLD Over me and it sure sounds good to hear it on the radio and get to share the fruits of our labor.

Only 3 more Two Ton Tuesdays left so make sure you get down and have a ice cold beer with us on a hot summer night in Gruene!

See ya next week!

Thank you so much for another great night at Gruene Hall!  We had almost 900 people tonight! 800 people is a sell out crowd so thanks for helping us oversell Gruene once again! (don't tell the Fire Marshall!)

This week we are up in Dennison TX and Wichita Falls TX so please tell your friends!

One more thing before we get some much needed rest, hold your breath, wait for it- Kevin Geil will  have the honor of singing the national anthem, on NATIONAL TV, for the PBR (professional bull riding) Circuit on August 1st.  The band playing 2 sets during the event as well! So keep that in your calender, come to the show or watch it on CMT!

See you at the next show!

Last Thursday we had a meeting with our new record label and on August 18th the long awaited Two Tons of Steel album entitled "Not That Lucky" will be released on Smith Music!  You may know Smith Music Group as the guys who put out the "Live at Billy Bob's" music series, and have been behind everyone from Pat Green, to Merle Haggard, Gary Stweart, and Randy Rogers! Needless to say, it's a huge step forward for the band and we can't wait to see what we can do together. Go check out our friends online at http://www.smithmusic.com/ take a look at the rest of their roster and make sure on August 3rd you start calling your local Texas Country, Americana, NPR, Sirius/XM and College Radio Stations and ask for the new Two Tons of Steel album!

On Saturday, June 27th we were at The Country Stampede festival in Manhattan, Kansas with Wade Bowen, Jack Ingram, Blake Shelton, and Tim McGraw. It's always such a pleasure to hang out with other great musicians, tell stories and shoot the bull. All the Musicians in our scene are so real and down to earth and it doesn't matter if they travel in a pickup truck or on a $350K tour bus, everyone is just amazing - no attitudes, no drama, just good people who will invite you on their tour bus for a beer and some "Family Guy" on the flat screen, or let your drink in their 15 passenger van!! !

On Sunday we filmed a 2 1/2 minute interview for GAC that will air in August during the PBR Broadcast. They took some live footage of us at the Mercury Lounge and interviewed us on topics such as the new album, tattoos, rockabilly music, and Bob Wills.

Don't Forget Two Ton Tuesdays are still going on until August 18th, if you have not made it out yet this year your are missing out!  Last week we had 850+ people in attendance and its only more of a party every week!

That's all for now, see you at the show!
