Hello everyone,

I hope you are all lovely well and wise.

It’s only a few weeks now to Jim Bob’s special mini tour. As you may know Mr Bob is playing some intimate solo acoustic dates where not only will he be playing songs from throughout his career, but he will be joined on some numbers by Chris T-T on the piano. These are going to be very special gigs, especially as Tim Ten Yen is special guest and main support on every date.

Tickets have been selling really well and the London date at the Camden Head is now sold out. I have had numerous emails yesterday and today asking if there are tickets on the door - and if they can go on the guestlist. I am afraid that I can’t say yes to either of these requests. It’s worth looking on the Carter forum for spares but that’s probably it. The gig holds under a hundred and there really isn’t anything I can do to help. Sorry!

Instead you could check out one of the other five dates. Both Brighton and Bletchley are easy to get to for London folk and you can get trains back to the capital for both.  Make a night of it and visit another town is what I say,

The Glasgow show only has around 20 tickets left as well. Glasgow is always a special show, and Jim’s 13th Note shows have always been quite wonderful euphoric occasions. It’s been a while since he was last there and we are looking forward to going back very much.

I hope to see you in September. The Spoons Mobile is going to be packed to the rafters with Mr Bob, Mr T-T, Mr Ten Yen, Mr Spoons and myself all travelling together. Look out motorways of the UK is what I say!

I am pleased to announce that tickets for the Carter USM aftershow party at Brixton Jamm are now on sale.

This aftershow event will take place on 14
th November from 11pm and go on until the early hours of the next morning. For those that haven’t been before the aftershow events at Jamm are a chance to carry on the celebrations after the Brixton Academy Carter USM gig. There is a room for bands, another for DJ’s and dancing, and an outside bit for those who want to smoke in the freezing cold. They are pretty spectacular events in themselves and last year over 500 of you went (and it sold out too!). Highlights included a great set by The Frank and Walters and EMF playing with Keith TOTP at 4am (performing Unbelievable!). Who knows what this year has in store?

The venue itself (Jamm) is within walking distance of the Academy (about 5 mins) so is a pretty perfect location.

Announced so far to play is Chris T-T & The Hoodrats, Hermholtz Resonaters and Witches. There are one or two acts yet to be announced that will also be pretty special. The bands are all hand picked by Fruity and Jim Bob this year, and they hope you enjoy their choices!

And there will be of course be ace DJ's and all that gubbins too.

Tickets are available here:

http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/user/?region ... ent=339091

They are £8 if you buy them in August. This is £1 more than last year but as you can see there is no booking fee this time making it the same I think).

Tickets will be a whopping £15 on the door (!) if there are any left, so best get them in advance if you fancy going.

I will announce any additions to the bill as soon as I have them.

Marc x

p.s. With regards to Brixton Academy tickets Ticketmaster and See are pretty much out of their allocation. Just over a 100 in total remain with ticketweb and stargreen.

Hello Gang,

I am delighted to announce the final support slot for the Carter USM ‘The Drum Machine Years’ gigs. The main special guests for The Kentish Town Forum show will be Future Of The Left. (you can check them out here:
www.myspace.com/futureoftheleft )

Future of The Left are a massively exciting band and we are delighted they are playing
The Forum. In Future Of The Left and The King Blues (supporting at Brixton) we have two new bands who share the Carter spirit and ethos. Both acts have promised to deliver really corking sets that will knock your socks off. And as mentioned previously Tim Ten Yen will open proceedings on both nights, with his amazing pop songs and fantastic dancing. It’s all coming together rather well!

So the completed line ups are:

Friday 13th November
LONDON KENTISH TOWN FORUM
CARTER USM – Performing 1992: The Love Album and Post Historic Monsters
+ Future Of The Left and Tim Ten Yen

Saturday 14th November
LONDON 02 BRIXTON ACADEMY
CARTER USM – Performing 101 Damnations and 30 Something
+ The King Blues and Tim Ten Yen

There are nodownstairs tickets left for Brixton.
www.stargreen.com has a very small amount of standing returns for The Forum. These are strictly limited.

You can get upstairs tickets for both shows from
www.ticketmaster.co.uk www.seetickets.com and for Brixton from www.ticketweb.co.uk We have now sold over 90% of all tickets for the Brixton show and only a couple of hundred upstairs remain. There is a similar situation for The Forum. I would advise booking now if you haven’t already.

More news soon.

Marc x

p.s. I am working on the aftershows now. Expect an announcement soon
 regarding events for both gigs.

Hello everyone,

Carter management Marc Here.

I am very pleased to be able to email you all with details of the special guests for the Carter USM Brixton Academy show on November 14th. Opening the show, doing a cheeky little set, we have the fantastic TIM TEN YEN. Those who saw Tim on Jim Bob’s recent solo show will know how amazing he is. Check out his myspace here if you aren’t yet acquainted with his genius.

http://www.myspace.com/timtenyen

Tim will also be opening proceedings at The Forum show the night before too!

The main special guest slot, will be filled by THE KING BLUES.

The King Blues are delighted to be playing this show. They are huge Carter fans and singer Itch has been massively inspired by Carter. They are known for their amazing live shows so expect great things Their myspace is here:

http://www.myspace.com/thekingblues

And here is what the media dudes have been saying.

"The most exciting live band in Britain." - Kerrang

“This is my favourite album of the year” Mike Davies - Radio One

"They did a spellbinding performance, it was just superb, really really special." - Jo Whiley Radio One

Hello Crime fighting fans

My new album GOFFAM is here.

You can buy a copy at one of my solo live shows (details at the end of this message) or you can order it online from the Carter USM online shop now

I really think it’s a great record. Recorded with Chris T-T and Johnny Lamb – whose amazing two-part vocal harmonies are some of my favourite Jim Bob recorded moments ever – and it
features 12 songs about crime and failed superheroics and lonely cops and stuff. It’s heavy on metaphor I think. The album comes in a neat comic book stylee sleeve designed by John Facundo.

Right. I’m off on tour.
Really looking forward to these dates. It seems like a long time since I’ve played more than two shows in a row. It will also be good to be back on the road with my full team. Marcus Tandy is home from a year in Los Angeles, Mr Spoons has arranged himself around various non-league football matches and for the five gigs between Glastonbury Tor Rugby Club and Cannock, Chris T-T will be standing in for Marc on the merch stall. Chris promises extra fun and games if you come and say hello and will be selling kisses for a pound.

Advance sales for the shows have been good but there will be tickets available on the door for all the gigs. Come along. I’m planning on being amazing, I’ve got a TV on stage and everything.

Goffam still needs you.

JIM BOB xx

Hello everyone,

I hope you are well. I thought it time for a Carter and Jim Bob ticket update.

Firstly I am very happy to announce that both the Carter gigs are selling brilliantly. Out of the 7000 tickets on sale we have sold close to three quarters of all of these in just a week!

With regards to the 1992 and Post Historic Monster show at The Kentish Town Forum (13 November) there are only 79 standing tickets left out of the 1500 on sale. Ticketmaster has 29 of these, See has 19, Gigantic has 7, Stargreen has 24. These may all go by next week so if you plan to go to this gig, and want to go downstairs I advise you buy now. The Forum only holds 2300 and tickets are flying out the door.

The 101 Damnations and 30 Something show at the Brixton Academy is strange this year! It’s selling extremely well but normally everyone goes for standing and the upstairs tickets sell last. This time around we have already sold half of the 1000 upstairs allocation in a week. I guess a lot of you are getting old! Out of the 4000 standing for Brixton there are only a few hundred left. Ticketmaster and See are almost out of their allocation. Ticketweb is the place to go (as it's cheaper for booking fees anyway).

And with regards to aftershow events and tickets I will work out in the next month or so what we plan to do. I would look out for an announcement in April regarding any aftershow events and tickets.

Links to the ticket agencies are as follows

Ticketweb

Ticketmaster

Seetickets

Stargreen

Gigantic

Now onto Jim Bob. His solo tour is selling really well too and his Bristol and Coatbridge dates are close to selling out. I don’t think there will be any tickets on the door for these shows so if you want to go please buy now. It’s also worth noting that last year when he played the Eastney and Manchester venues they also sold out in advance (and we had to turn people away). The very special Borderline show has done close to 200 tickets and there are only 270 on sale. These are the five dates where getting advance tickets may be worthwhile! The other shows are selling well too (though having said that York and Cannock could do with a boost!).

All the ticket links for the Jim Bob dates are here
though going to buy ticketsand buy tickets will see yourself right for most of the dates. Get yourself to a show, the new album is ruddy amazing.

Any questions, queries or recipe tips for deserts just email at marc.ollington@gmail.com

More blag than blog

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone who entered the pre-sale found it easier than in previous years. We monitored the sales all day and released more tickets as needed.

For those of you who didn’t get tickets in the pre-sale and want to buy them in the official sale they will go on sale tomorrow (Friday) at 9am.

Tickets for the Brixton Academy show (Saturday 14 November) are available from:

Ticketweb

Ticketmaster

Seetickets

Stargreen

Gigantic

Tickets for the London Forum show (Friday 13 November) are available from:

Ticketmaster

Seetickets

Stargreen

Gigantic

(Top tip: For the Forum gig, Gigantic or Stargreen will probably be the cheapest option)

Please note tickets will NOT be available from ticketweb for the Forum show. I will also say that we sold nearly half the tickets for Brixton Academy in the pre-sale and half the tickets for the London Forum. The Forum show especially may sell out very soon.

All the best,

Marc

Me and Fruitbat had our first Carter rehearsal for the November live shows. It went well. I'd say we're at the stage on this first rehearsal that we were at by about the fourth or fifth one last year. We didn't have to feel slightly awkward alone in the same rehearsal room after such a long time this time around and knew how the technology works etc. We could just get on with the business of playing the songs and seeing how much we'd forgotten all over again. Suprisingly little it turns out. I didn't need to consult my pile of lyric sheets, which was good because I can't read them anyway these days without printing them in a ridiculously large font or painting them onto large sheets of wallpaper with a fat brush and a tin of emulsion. Like Rolf Harris probably does when he rehearses Jake The Peg and Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport after a year off filming Animal Rescue. More soon. I might take my little video camera next week.

Jim Bob x
