BURN ON!!!

Okay, its actually 1am on November 25, 2008... still up from yesterday morning. Right now we're finishing up at the studio wrapping today's vocal tracks. The recording is going great and Italy fuckin' rocks!

Yesterday, we met up with the one of the owners of the label, Alessandro, in Viareggio, Italy. We ate at this awesome Tuscan resturaunt then strolled on over to the Mediterranean Sea... Gorgeous. We took a train there, and then back... of course. Well, not really. We had some drinks at a local pub, and by the time we got on the train... Well... I'm sure you've this story. After hours of travelling, we finally arrive in Pisa where we had to get picked by an friend/assisstant.

Anyway, today was productive and we have one more week here in &@%'s country. As much as I love it here, I miss home... more so just family & friends. Maybe, just maybe, I can take a vacation back home, and come back with my dog.

Members John The Impaler and Justin Manning wrapped up filming thursday for the movie The Devil Within. They played a group of bikers playing pool in a bar. Possibilities of their music in the film still linger. The movie is due to be released around halloween

CROWNED BY FIRE - "As The World Burns" *****

Right on and without pardon - thats how CROWNED BY FIRE rock out through the five-tracked EP. With PANTERAS drive and DANZIGs focus on the powerful frontman they have a sound that downright clenches on.

JR Cramton's drumming is vivid, pacey, and reminds of the oiled thunderbolt Igor Cavalera (SEPULTURA) in feel and energy. But if you cant cope with Glenn Danzig's dulcet but at the same time high-pitched, howling voice you probably ought to step back. I personally find that the singer's gurgling voice brushes CROWNED BY FIREs sound image with a rebel like glaze. As soon as 'I Am The Crime' starts I get all mushy inside. John The Impaler's voice breaks through with axlike features and runs this burning ship through flaming heat apparently untouched and mightily immortal.

Third track 'Get Under The Dirt' cement the expression cruel. The lyric lure congenially to co-singing thanks to technique decorated with varying accentuations, hauling articulations and suitable screams that make my eyes want to plop out of their lairs.

With "As The World Burns" the California lads have taken out the nailer and obtained a firm grip around the future sound within hard rock single-handed. Delightfully, horrendously and blistering hot.

CROWNED BY FIRE - "As The World Burns" *****

Rakt på sak och utan pardon rockar CROWNED BY FIRE sig genom den femspåriga EPn. Med PANTERAs driv och DANZIGs fokus på deras mäktiga frontman, har de ett sound som riktigt biter sig fast.

JR Cramton's trummande är livligt, fartfyllt och påminner om den oljade blixten Igor Cavalera (SEPULTURA) i känsla och energi. Men orkar du inte med Glenn Danzig's ljuva och samtidigt gälla, ylande röst bör du nog passa dig. Själv tycker jag att sångarens gurglikande röst penslar CROWNED BY FIREs ljudbild med en rebellaktig glans. Så fort 'I Am The Crime' börjar blir jag helt mosig inuti. Med yx-liknande inslag bryter sig John The Impaler röst igenom och styr denna brinnande skuta genom flammande hetta till synes orörd och mäktigt odödlig.

Tredje spåret 'Get Under The Dirt' cementerar uttrycket grymt. Sympatiskt lockar texten till medsjungande tack vare en teknik, prydd av varierade betoningar, släpande artikulationer och passande skrik som får mina ögon att vilja ploppa ur sina hålor.

Kalifornia-grabbarna har med "As The World Burns" tagit fram spikpistolen och skaffat sig ett stadigt grepp om det framtida soundet inom hård rock på egen hand. Härligt, fasansfullt och brännande hett.
